  1. Testing how the interior would work with "practical effects" background... This might be good technique to capture the finished model some day.
  2. More random progress! Quality check of the interior triangular side panels! Sketching connectors.
  3. Random progress / tweaks:
  4. Awesome model! Great work! Now I want one too :)
  5. Instrument cluster could have lights? Not many enough yet! :)
  6. Small update on interior. Sketching main elements. Pilot seat might end up black or dark brown so dont mind the light bluish gray at the moment...
  7. Thanks for the ideas! Here is very rough red stripe sketch. Due to your great feedback I already made the torpedo launcher 1 plate thinner! I also removed 1 technic beam worth of thickness from the bottom half of the hull. UPPER IMAGE IS NEWEST VERSION: lower hull half is 1 technic beam thinner + torpedo launched 1 tile worth thinner
  8. I'm trying to improve the torpedo launcher a bit. Currently I'm trying to get A type with slightly angular edges. I have two types of reference images: A Elliptical overall rounded type with two sub variations B "arrowhead style" (this might be from some toy and might not be accurate at all?) Below is the reminder of the current version: Below I used LBG tape to simulate round front edge of the opening. I am already quite pleased on this version and how it fits the overall shapes. Im real life this version of the launcher does not gather too much visual weight or disturbance. Below area without tape: Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas on how to get more elliptical overall shape? I want to have and remain the already accomplished concativity as well. :) Long curved slopes would do nice shape but there is no reasonable counterpart for the hull side of the opening. Thank you for the kind words! This forum adds a lot to the motivation! Thank you very much! Thank you! Do you see anything "off" in the dimensions with fresh set of eyes?
  9. Thank you! I build iteratively with trial and error. First version might be cardboard to see roughly the shape. Second version studded or something rough to find out good anchor points and structural areas required. After these steps it gets nice trying to add more detail and definiton via each new iteration. Many times 3rd or 4th version is good enough and the subpart gets to sit for a year for maybe one more revisit :) Thank you for the kind words! Thank you again! Quick proportions check. For some reason I had totally forgotten about the proton torpedo launcher on the side of the hull. I placed this first version by eye. Looks like the launcher needs to be moved 1-2 studs forwards. Also the rear of the hull might need 1-2 stud extension.
  10. Front cone acceptable. Might be improved and weathered later. Moving forward! Dont mind the clear tape which is curretly holding a few pieces together. This will be replaced by internal connecting structure.
  11. Managed to fill engine rear surfaces. Quite tricky round and triangular areas. :)
  12. Thank you! The scale is pretty close to 1:9. From closer distance there is still a lot of redo work required to improve certain areas :)
  13. note wing not fully inserted...
  14. Some progress with laser cannon housing. It has 3 pieces of Technic axles on top of each other to fight gravity. (though this limits a bit of detail amount I can pull off around the "heatsink" area)
  15. Image dump! Remember to follow latest progress at my IG account: https://www.instagram.com/drakmin/ Engine rear section techniques. Coffee for scale. Old outdated technique was too angular. Beer for scale! Test assembly. Latest engine intake interation. Pretty smooth! Notice lower half slightly smaller radius and 0,5 stud inset!
