Is My LEGO Indian A Special LEGO Indian?
Rotundus replied to Actor Builder's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Your minifig torso may not be "special", but if you notice, NO one has any for sale and there is no price history for previous sales, so... -
This is good work, the wealthy in your city have good taste. Nice use of parts do get the desired detail effects, (ex: gold ring for radiator cap). The suicide doors are classic! If I could fit, I'd ride in this any day.

I like this! Very "stylish". If you want to pick it apart, yeah there are a few lines that don't quite work, but, you have captured the "look and feel" of the prototype rather well. Indeed, a very nice addition to your city scene.

Excited and looking forward to all the great ideas shared here

Welcome to the Forums my friend. May your membership be profitable for all of us! -
A mini-fig sized Beetle... That's OK! Good work. Looks like you have a good start on a VW "Thing" as well.
-
Hey now... That's kind of cute! Good work.

Hi Aldaron, welcome to the forums. I wouldn't worry too much about the English skills... Even some of us native English speakers aren't all that good at it.

I agree with the cited article... When do the adult sizes come out! -
How convenient! "On Stranger Tides" was one of the featured movies this weekend on TV. After further review... The play stands as called. I still think it the lesser of the series, and for the same reasons, too. But I will have to moderate that somewhat by saying that it did have some very well conceived scenes. And, that over-all it was quite enjoyable film... over-the-top, absurdly unbelievable bits not withstanding. I've found that it helps to suspend ones belief in reality just a bit when dealing with a Disney film. After all, children can"t fly... Not without a little help from some pixie dust! I think that the true value of OST will become more clear once we get to see the new film, and have a chance to better place both of them within the context of the POTC realm.

For starters... yes. Although POTC3 provided a natural parting point for them, 4 just didn't seem like a "Pirates" movie to me without them. Also I agree with LEGODalek-buster that movies 1,2 &3 constituted a naturally concluded story line arc, and OST kind of just tags along. Agreed. If Stranger Tides had been the beginning of a new story arc, I think I could have accepted it better. Indeed Blackbeard could have been an impressive villain. Before I say much more, I think I will have to view it again. (As if I need an excuse to do that!)

Perhaps... As it is, the franchise (in my opinion), is starting to suffer from a common sequel disease... longevity. Even with the infusion of new characters, the 4th installment was easily the weakest of the series. If that was the best that they could do, well... ... I can see it running for about 6 weeks and getting cancelled. Maybe a mini-series would work. In the end though, I will go see the new movie (in a theater) when it does come out. On a related note: They already lost Knightley as Swann. How many more times do you think they can get Depp to revisit Capt. Jack? (After all, he still hasn't been properly rehabilitated yet.)

Welcome to the forums, Nick!

One does has to remember that this a a Disney film... And over the top, side splitting, holding my ribs because I'm laughing so hard, silliness is the Disney stock in trade. It's what they do... They're good at it!

Should have known... Now that I know to look for it, I can see the stiff upper lip. Beautiful cat. Not a bad ship either!

Nicely done, Slobey. (Is that a "Russian Blue" in the background?)

Finding common colours for a list of parts
Rotundus replied to Legotom's topic in General LEGO Discussion
On BrickLink as part of their parts search function when you enter in a part number you will get a screen listing all of the colors for that part that are known to exist as well as which parts, in those colors, that are currently for sale by member vendors. It's a little tedious, but that might help you out. -
Land Rover just built the worlds largest Lego structure
Rotundus replied to Nacho's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Ahh... Do I have this right? That is a full size car and human in the lower left of the picture?? WOW, that's BIG!!! It must be nice to have a LEGO room the size of a parking lot. -
Cool! Thanks... I never knew that was what that was for. I guess that's what I get for not clicking on stuff. It's going to take a little time to get used to all the changes... But maybe this upgrade isn't so bad after all. Good job!

Welcome to the forums! I look forward to seeing some of your work.

Congratulations on some very nice models. Nice detail work on the train station. Good job on getting your basketball to look round. I haven't seen that technique before. And I just love the tea set... Very unique! Any plans for a creamer and pot? Well done fellow brickster!

I don't know if this is the right place for this, but... I miss the "jump to the first unread post" button.

Thanks dr_spock. Although what Darkdragon says has me a little worried. BBCode was an easy way to ensure proper copyright credits. The implications of what was said means that all that will now have to be done manually (and carefully) to make sure it all done properly.

A question about picture posting... Is the old method still valid? (As in get the proper BB code from Flickr and pasting?) If not, please be sure to update your "help FAQs" about how to post pictures. Thanks
