Deceptively simple, but quite beautiful! I really like the tubing/wiring on the inside.

Thanks, everybody! Glad you like him. I SO wanted to use trans clear bricks, but I didn't have enough for the column and don't have any money to order more pieces.

Thanks! Glad you like it. The blaster was actually pretty hard to make because of its odd shape. And, yes, that's a purist custom Fett fig (half Cloud City version/half new). Good eye!

In my constant desire to build figures with more accuracy and detail, I decided to work in a slightly-bigger-than Moodland scale. The result is my Midi-Mood Scale Boba Fett! I used Sideshow Collectibles Premium Format Boba (ROTJ) as my main visual reference. I even printed decals! I originally planned on making his cape and braids out of Lego, but none of the designs I tried worked. As you can see he a bit bigger than my Moodland figures. Special thanks to my mom for making Boba's "Wookiee braids". LOL! Let me know what you all think!

Are Star Wars MOC Builders becoming a dying breed?
M<0><0<DSWIM replied to HJR-Holland's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is where I , again, mention that there are many scales other than minifig. Really, take your minifig collection and build those characters in action figure or 12 inch scale. I honestly think that the problem is that most builders only look at moccing from one scale's point of view. Most of the reason I build in other scales besides minifig is pretty much because everything has been done for the most part. Also, it's a way to stand out from other builders as one commentor said. Give it a try, guys! -
Pretty awesome, so far! I like the use of those printed bricks and the parts usage in the front, especially. Not sure if I would have the fig standing, though...

Are Star Wars MOC Builders becoming a dying breed?
M<0><0<DSWIM replied to HJR-Holland's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I, personally, have been mocing (mostly in the SW theme) for around 10 years now! I tend to build in uncommon scales (other than minifig) and try combining odd themes (like Gundam and SW), so I personally think, alot of people are turned off or don't understand what I'm doing. You also have to consider that this site is mostly discussion-based. If you want to look at peoples' builds, check out Flickr or Mocpages. I can assure you that there are MANY builders, like myself who are building strong and constantly. -
Thanks! I've always thought that my Chibi heads would make cool mini busts. Maybe try a Cody bust?
-
Thanks, Doc! Yes, the face construction is new in this scale as well as the parts used for the helmet. I'm glad to see someone is paying attention. Thanks for the blog, as well, my friend!

Thanks! I spend the most time working on the heads with chibis because they hold so much detail. Thanks! I just mean, I hope it's not my last entry for this particular CB. I've got a few more ideas...

Here's my first (and hopefully, not last) entry to the CW CB: Chibi Anakin Skywalker and Captain Rex! At first, I wanted to build Rex in Phase II armor, but I like Anakin's older outfit better, so I went with Phase I. The markings on Rex's helmet are custom decals. Not sure if I should redo them less messy or not? Anyway, let me know what you guys think! If you want to see more pics, let me know.

There are pretty much no rules, since this isn't a contest. Your entry(s) can be any size.

Huh, a Star Wars train. That's a pretty novel idea! Love the front and gun turret so far. -
Crimson TIE Interceptor Mobile Suit (Midi-Mood Scale)

Thanks, Doc! I've actually never read the Crimson Empire books, but I like Kir Kanos's look and the look of his TIE fighter. -

Huh. I wonder if this build was overlooked? I usually get a few more comments by now...(crickets chirping) -

Thanks, man! The saber was inspired by Kir Kanos's staff in the Crimson Empire series. -
The first place I would try is Bricklink, dude.

As far as not being familiar with the series, just google it and check out some images, at the least. I'm sure you could get some ideas that way.

So, for my next build, I wanted to work a little larger than Moodland (or Miniland) scale, but smaller than minfig scale so it wouldn't take me months to build. I call it Midi-Mood Scale! I wanted to build a red SW Mobile Suit and the first character that came to mind was the Imperial guards. So, I took a bit of inspiration and look from the Crimson Empire series and combined that with Kir Kanos's and his TIE Interceptors looks. I do plan on building more "real" SW characters at this scale. Let me know what you all think!

WOW, indeed! This looks to be an amazing mammoth build! I really like the parts/technique for the wheels.
