  1. I can share the LDD files of what has been done so far (still in standby sadly, but at least job related things are good so more parts money ) The main areas that are still uncovered are the discharge conveyor and carrier, some details on the bucket wheel arm and the slewing system/turntable (i think at this size a modified turntable would be needed to have stability) Will be back later with download links for current files. Edit: As promised, https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zep52tlzm9s4jnb/AACG4eum8UNC7r1XiaK6oCcla?dl=0 Feel free to do any modifications, adjustments and corrections to it and share them. When i last worked on it i was devising a way to keep the cab level while the main arm goes up and down.
  2. We have the TerexRH400 Moc, multiple mining dumper mocs and now this rock drill. The Technic Opencast Mine is now ready for production.
  3. I just replaced them altogether and don't regret nothing.
  4. This and the buwizz, in addition to the already (might we call it) mature sbrick are definitely exciting developments.
  5. I have a feeling that this is not going to be an official set anytime soon
  6. I am considering buying the parts needed for this moc, but i'd like to familiarize myself better with the design and probably try alternative color schemes. Is there a .lxf file available for the RH400?
  7. I don't think selling both kidneys would gather sufficient funding for all the parts needed. Outstanding work. It is not the first time that i arrive at the conclusion that lego should probably make wider track parts. Or a new part that elegantly connects 2 existing track links.
  8. Now this is a project to follow I like your turntable idea, might consider it for the 42055 mod
  9. ^^ Sadly no, it is in stand by since i did not have the time to work on it. I will get to it eventually.
  10. ^^ I like how all of the 8 bwe's have jerky (if any) movement in the bucket wheel.
  11. It still doesn't have the conveyor belt added, that's why it looks thin. Also it will be suspended with wire, so the cantilevered part of it will not be larger than in the standard 42055.
  12. Thank you! I will try and gather a sufficient budget next year to order the parts off bricklink. We'll see how that works.
  13. The bucket wheel arm is already half modified, still some work to do on it, and the discharge conveyor will be longer and i'm thinking of making it in 2 segments ,one on top of the other, the lower one able to slide back and forth. It will be supported by a tracked discharge car. Some more renders that i made a couple of weeks ago And the new cab
  14. I don't know how exactly to make competent instructions but i will make the LXF file public for everyone so that i can get feedback, suggestions and improvements. So yeah probably there will be instructions at some point. Instructions or not, i split everything into manageable groups so you could probably use the LXF file to build the model. For now the project is in stand-by because of job related projects, i hope i can get back on it soon.
  15. Probably delivered in a box made from lego, that is then disassembled and used in this project, to keep delivery costs down.
  16. Yes. Even if all the gears are not under any pressure and everything is carefully built, the bucket wheel will still act weird. I don't think the problem can be fully eliminated without adding another motor to drive the BW alone, probably like it should have been done to begin with. Driving the BW via the conveyor belt is economical in terms of PF element usage, but ultimately unsatisfactory in performance. I also think the bevel gear might contribute to the issue, but i'm not sure. However, one of the main advantages of this set is that you have enough options to mod the hell out of it.
  17. I like thick books, however, for monsters like the 42055 they could be split into 2 volumes.
  18. I would place the cabin to the side of the machine, with the driver's seat perpendicular to the trench so that he can supervise both the digging and the forward movement of the machine. Underground wheel loaders have a similar arrangement. This being said, your model looks great. The number of buckets on the wheel seems much more adequate to this scale than to the BWE scale where in real life there would probably be 2 times more buckets, but a little smaller. Do you plan on making some instructions or a ldd model of it?
  19. What kind of excavator are you planning with that turntable? Bucket wheel or conventional excavator?
  20. Finally some sets i am personally not really interested in, since 2016 really ruined my wallet The research ship looks great (i think i also like the telehandler), the rest are cool but just not up my alley. Will the tracked racer bring anything new in the PF department?
  21. That looks amazing. Not that i don't like the lime green.
  22. Great little model, congrats! Isn't it nearly the same scale as the 42035 ?
  23. Is the bin able to raise with, say, a small coke bottle inside?
