  1. From Oda-sensei himself.
  2. Even with the post-Endgame struggles, the MCU had a solid decade of success that has clearly given them leeway with merchandisers. DC doesn’t get that benefit of the doubt because the DCU struggled right out the gate and basically limped on until being mercifully put out of its misery. I HATE that we’re not getting stuff for the new Superman movie, especially after that amazing trailer, but history has shown that Marvel is usually a more reliable bet than DC, so I can see why the Fantastic Four are still getting a set.
  3. Honestly, I’d rewatch both Schumacher movies before BVS or Suicide Squad. The complaints on here about Reeves’ take on the Riddler are exactly how I feel about Lex Luthor and the Joker. Jesse Eisenberg recently admitted BVS hurt his career for a long while, and I can see why. The actors in those movies did the best with what they had to work with, but the writing and direction let them all down. So I’m more than down for some Schumacher Lego kits.
  4. Not doing anything for the new Superman movie sucks, but I would be down for Schumacher stuff.
  5. That trailer looks fantastic. Sucks there won’t be a kit for it.
  6. I see what you did there. I’m not hoping for much from Lego, but a new John Stewart GL would be great.
  7. I mean they probably still are going to pump the hell out of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman… just not Snyder’s versions. Which I’m fine with. Great castings but their movies were mostly terrible. I can see why a fresh start for the biggest names was preferable. And hopefully we do eventually get Legos of some kind for Superman.
  8. Thing is, even if this is to appease China, other merchandise for the film has no problem at least including the alternate unmasked face as well. So Lego not doing one at all is weird.
  9. I’ll never understand people who are incapable of just ignoring things they don’t like.
  10. The new logo looks great. I really hope Lego does something for the movie.
  11. Makes sense. What’ll be interesting is if it winds up released in its current iteration at all or if the heavy reshoots necessitate changes.
  12. It’s confirmed he’s Ross. https://www.marvel.com/articles/movies/captain-america-brave-new-world-anthony-mackie-harrison-ford A figure of the Robert Maverick version would be amazing tho.
  13. On the subject of the kit itself, are we expecting a reused Hulk body mold for Red Hulk? I haven’t kept up with any of the recent Lego Hulk releases.
  14. As others have said, the Soviet Union no longer exists, so any comparison there is moot. And while China is absolutely guilty of human rights abuse as well, they’re not currently at the center of a global crisis millions of people are seeing footage from daily. It’s simply not comparable. The amount of public outrage and anger over the crisis in the Middle East is a very relevant current factor and not something that happened before half of the audience was born. Introducing a superhero working for the Israeli government and military right now would be walking directly into a minefield that could easily have been avoided, so I am guessing if she remains in the film at all, they’ll simply have her be a SHIELD or SWORD agent who happens to be of Israeli descent or something along those lines. I wouldn’t be surprised if the code name Sabra also doesn’t get used (though the movies are already back and forth on whether or not code names get used). They’ll probably just call her Ruth.
  15. The Flash movie is the most recent example. They had a kit planned featuring Flash alongside the Michael Keaton Batman and classic Batmobile, but after Ezra Miller's criminal charges they scrapped it and released the Batman and Batmobile separately under generic Batman branding to avoid any association.
  16. I don’t think they’d be so bold as to do something like that, but I guess we’ll see. Anyway, are we thinking the jet is another Quinjet?
  17. You can’t really pull “she’s not reflective of her government just because she works for them” when that government is actively being criticized for crimes against humanity right now. I have no idea how they’d planned on using her in the film, but if she was going to be depicted as an agent of the Israeli government before the reshoots, she almost certainly isn’t now. I could see Lego doing what they did with their Flash set and just remove the problematic character and swap her out for someone else.
  18. If the non-Batman DCU comic stuff was selling that well I have to imagine they'd be making more of it. Again, this is just a historical thing. Marvel's been more popular for quite a while now and while DC has a mega hot property with Batman, the rest of their universe never quite had that same level of interest when it comes to merchandise. Who knows. Maybe the upcoming reboot will reignite mainstream interest if it's successful.
  19. A major part of the issue is that DC has been getting its butt roundly kicked by Marvel for the past 15 years, which has hurt the brand in a number of ways. A rising tide lifts all ships, so to speak, and the MCU's success has meant there's been a major interest in Marvel as a whole that never quite manifested for DC. People love Marvel, but they don't really love DC: they love Batman and maybe Superman. I agree that a lot of Lego's DC attempts have been kind of lackluster, but it's not all on them. This is a pattern we've been seeing nearly across the board with DC related stuff; the DC Multiverse toy line frequently gets criticized for the absurd level of Batman figures in it, but one of the guys who works for the company had said a while back that it's largely because the execs and retailers don't really know or care about the DC Universe beyond the big names. Before they decided to abandon Flash stuff in the wake of the controversy, it was probably intended as some sort of synergy since the main selling point for that movie right now is "Hey look! Michael Keaton's back!"
  20. Lego Batman, The Batman and The Suicide Squad are top tier recent-ish DC for me. As a whole the DCEU was a wasted opportunity to me, so hopefully Flash will let it conclude on a high note before the reboot. The set being cancelled is still insane to me, btw. Hopefully it does see the light of day in some form eventually.
  21. TBH that was likely gonna be the case even without the Miller controversy. Bringing back Keaton as Batman seemed like the studio hedging its bets due to how hit or miss the reception to the DCEU had been.
