  1. Looks really good mate, very good detail. Ive been toying with the idea to modularise the Café but haven't done one yet. I wanted to keep the exterior the same as the original and work around it.
  2. this set is definitely being bought at the start of september :). me and my friend are going to our closest store to get one each. as a disney fan and my girlfriend is a disney fan this will be a display only set in a cabinet in one of our rooms in the house. will look good in our slight paris themed room i think :).
  3. thanks for all the comments guys. originally i was going to let it stand on its own surrounded by roads but then thought differently. I will add another floor on, maybe 2 depending how it is. would anyone change the outer colour or would you use the dark orange for it? i think that would be the most expensive part for me. thanks for the help guys.
  4. Hi All, Just creating a few designs on LDD first before i make it official for myself. How does this supermarket look? The Reason behind this is i bought the Friends Supermarket set and figured a way that i could utilise the pieces but make it into a slight modular form :). also, would you put another floor on the building to make it a flat or like it blank and try and create a big trolley to put on top? thanks all.
  5. i totally forgot about the fountain polybox coming out, so when i got the email about it i was quite happy. i wasnt going to purchase the new petrol station for a while but this gave me an incentive to do it haha. also quick question, im going legoland on sunday since i was a little kid so im buzzing. if i bought anything would i still get the offer for the fountain or would it be different as i know it is merlin instead of actual lego owned aswell.
  6. how would this look btw guys? not much but i think it would look quite good near modulars maybe.
  7. thanks all for the suggestions. think i will look at the bike path maybe :) that will take a few more studs up and then fill some parts with greenery and see how that goes :). awesome suggestions from such a good community.
  8. Hi all, Just wondering how everyone creates good sidewalks with modular buildings and the road baseplates. Purely because you have the little pavement outside the modular building but then have the stud spacing on the side of the road but when you try and put these together it looks to big for to me. how would you go about creating a smaller pavement. would it be essentially moving the modular buildings forward on the baseplate and taking away the pavement and putting that on the Road baseplate? or would you just create car spaces on the road baseplate to be like a real town layout etc? sorry if that doesn't sound good.
  9. ah yeah i have just buying building and some of the fire and police sets atm plus road plates haha. that sounds pretty cool, im not a fan of LOTR and castle etc but they do look nice sets some of them. Yeah that is a good point regarding the the GB HQ. i am going to buy the Ecto-1 next month and possibly another building not sure yet. then after all the other modular buildings are out the way i will get the GB HQ. but that will take 1-3 months saving depending on if i have any issues with car etc.
  10. aha yeah hopefully get the modulars out the way in the next 3-4 months then maybe one or 2 months saving for the ghostbusters HQ and i will get the Ecto-1 start of next month. just getting the room for all of it is the issue haha. but im sure i can store it all somewhere lol.
  11. No worries. i hope you do as well they are a pain when the prices go up tbh. i looked long and hard at all of them and just started the oldest to newest. so the next ones i will look to buy will be parisian restaurant then detectives office then lastly brick bank. by that time hopefully a new set will be out :). or ill just save for the ghostbusters headquarters haha. Double points always comes on when ive got other things to pay out for which is frustrating haha.
  12. this is really good tbh. i have just bought this set over the weekend, as i wanted to buy it before it is retired. so im going to try and build it tonight. i also brought the pet shop first. To be honest some people dont like this set but i like the look of it as it brings back an old style to it which is really cool. looking forward to building this :)
  13. wasnt today but at the weekend i bought the Palace cinema modular from TRU. got 2 £10 promo vouchers. one for spending £40 on lego one for spending £40 on any items in store. sets me up to buy either Kwik e-mart, parisian restaurant or Detectives office next month possibly.
  14. i have 3 of him atm, one that im going to put on display, one im going to keep sealed and the other im going to incorporate in a beach scene maybe. hoping that when the disney series is out i can get the whole collection and get some of the series 15 cheap to get spares.
  15. the only time i start to feel awkward is when im buying Lego Friends sets to use in a city scene, and people just stare and think 'what the hell are you buying that for' but i dont care in the end, its my hobby and i shall do or collect what i please :) sometimes feeling the Minifigure bags is awkward as you can stand there for a while trying to find the right one and you always get that one person come over and ask 'do you need help finding something'. Not like they would know what they are feeling for haha. the lego store is allowed for that as that is there job sometimes. i am not afraid to say i am a AFOL because it stops me spending money on stuff i dont really need or going out and wasting it on booze etc. Saving for a house is becoming an issue though lol, all i want to do is buy lego haha.
