Either they've mixed up Euros and Dollars or TLG has finally decided to make their pricing strategy fairer for all geographies. The

Now you're just being facetious! By the way you're speaking, you can't like any Lego minifigures! If you want complete accuracy, go and buy some Hasbro :-P
-
And yet there are plenty of other reviews which say the new head is fine or that they get that the new head is based on the new cartoons and not the films. Don't get me wrong ... I get that some don't like it, but I'm just pointing out that some do. Forums are far too quick to assume that the general opinion on their forum apply to the whole world.
-
I've not seen this, so perhaps you could provide some evidence?! Anyway ... you can't take what a few kids say on a forum to be indicative of the whole buying population. Just the same that you can't take a few AFOLs not liking them as fact for everyone. Clearly these figures are like marmite ... you either love or hate em. :-P Time will tell anyway ... if these sets don't sell well then they'll know that they're not popular and they'll go back to making sets purely from the films. Again, that will please some and not all ... you cannot win all the time.

I can't imagine they will change the design at this late stage ... plus, why would they?! These sets are based on a cartoon where the characters, I assume, look like they are depicted here. The sets are tied into that series ... in fact, were it not for these series, we quite possibly wouldn't know what any of these characters look like! As for alienating parts of the AFOL community ... that may well be true, but, newsflash, Lego is a kids toy ... the vast majority of sales are to kids. If these sets are popular with kids, which I'm pretty sure they will be, then the fact that a few AFOLs don't like them won't make any difference! At the end of the day, no-one can please everyone, all the time. If you don't like the sets, don't buy them. If you like the sets, but don't like the figures ... sell the figs but keep the ships.

Argos has loads of new lego! UK.

I think it depends on the branch ... Woolies in Fareham, Hampshire generally has a good selection of SW Lego. I think they had all of the 2007 sets apart from the exclusives (obviously). Whereas the Portsmouth branch (which is bigger?!) usually only carries a few sets. -
sorry, an American complaining about prices of SW sets?! X-O Not only is America the cheapest location to buy sets at RRP you also have stores that regularly put Lego on ridiculous clearance offers ... and that hardly ever happens in the UK (don't know about Europe, but it seems unlikely there also). However, it seems that you're mostly complaining about only having $50 to spend at any one time ... if that's all this is, either choose to buy something cheaper or get a better paid job. Sorry if you think this is offensive or anything, but you'll not get any sympathy on Lego prices from non US folks!

7998 Heavy Haulage was the same though wasn't it ? perhaps they're gonna do it with all the sets with very large elements ... eventually TLC will realise their pricing strategy for such sets is wrong, perhaps? -

picked up the catalogue today and noticed the AT-AT ... it mentions a remote control ?! Does the set usually come with one ? btw ... I also noticed that Woolworths now have new SW sets ... I picked up the two battle packs and saw the Anakin JSF too (didn't buy that one ... waiting for a sale). I assume the bigger stores may have the rest of the sets eventually. -
Do you keep your Lego Boxes?
Big Pete replied to RememberTheLittleGuy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
all of my boxes of lego sets purchased as an adult reside in the loft. All of the boxes from my youth went to the dustbin, sadly :( -
Having got the 4955 set for Christmas, I am now rather drawn to the 4896 Creator set. Been looking around on the net and I've seen some pictures of models that aren't included in the instructions in the set ... are the instructions for these available anywhere ? Pics of other sets are : Thanks in advance folks ... I *really* like the truck and the F1 models!

woah ... cut out the language please *n* anyway ... I think you're slightly missing the point "legoman" was trying to make. Whilst it is correct that the Clone Wars begin in Episode II and we see RGS and AT-TE in that film, most of the Clone Wars period is not covered as part of the PT. The AT-TE and RGS which we see in these pictures are based on how they look during the animated series of the Clone Wars and/or the games which come from it too. So, from that respect, they are from the Expanded Universe as that refers to anything which is not part of the films (PT or OT). If you want a non EU RGS or AT-TE then you will have to get the originally issued versions. :-)

their categories don't make much sense really ... it's nothing new though

but then Indy would have Leia's arm ... and he's not that girly ;)

like this ? ;-) A simple combo of Indy and Han Solo's torso from the Jabba's Sailbarge set

I am perfectly calm ... I just thought it was a bit of a daft question! :-P

oh ... I should add ... there is a snake for the plane ... and you can fit two minifigs in it (in one compartment, not two) ... so you can do the plane part of the escape too :-)

sorry if I missed a previous discussion ... I guess they're pretty good reasons!

whoops ... there was a vital "un" missing from that post! :-$

just watched the film and this is a nice compact set to recreate the scenes with the Ark ... the Ark is pretty well made in lego terms, although of course, it's unopenable. Mind you ... would you really want to open it? ;)
