I wouldn't be surprised if those parts were available from Lego Direct right now if you have the part number... I ordered 100 of the new CV Axles(The new piece from the 8070 supercar) The day after it was released... Also stocked up and several hundred of the older CV Joints... Just go to your country's Lego Shop at home Web Page and call them and press the number on your phone's keypad(Or ask) for replacement parts... You'll need the part number from the back of the instruction manual or you can find the part number at bricklink by going into the inventory for a model and then scroll to the bottom of the page and then click "Show part color codes" and the page will reload and the 7 digit part number will appear in blue...

I hate to say it, but that looks exactly like what is happening... There is a 3L tan axle with stop going through a hole into and through a 16T gear(The leaves one stud length left) and then into a 3L universal joint... Granted, if this model were motorized, this wouldn't be a good idea, but it isn't, so this should actually work decent enough to get the job done...

The HOG steering shaft uses these Which would make perfect sense for when the suspension tilts from left to right... Yes.. The steering pivot point is where the tan Pins are at... You can see the 3L universal joint coming from the differential directly in line with them...

Yeah, there must be a new wheel hub piece with an axle that snaps through that other new part... You can actually see the back part of it where it snaps together and then goes into the 16 tooth gear.. I am amazed that very clear dissected pictures like this have leaked out...

How about $1,359.45 USD...?

Any new technic set with new silver metallic parts would be a breath of fresh air... We'll probably get a brick version of something next though...

I can only assume that you paid somewhere around(or well over) $1,000 USD for that...?

My wife and I will be attending Brickfair... It's only a 3 hour drive which isn't bad... The only show that I ever attended was Brickworld in Illinois last year, but that was 10 hours to get there and it was a rather miserable experience for me...

I have used a heavy Pin to dig axles out of parts in the past. I have also used an exact-o knife, but that isn't very safe...

I really didn't think there was a need to split or divide the forum because of the very low traffic, but then I began noticing that when a Model Team/Creator type of model thread is made, mainly the only people that seem to comment on it are other people that build in the Model Team/Creator theme... So you guys are probably correct that maybe a split or subforums need to be made...

I would like to congratulate Rolic on the amazing work that he has done with this model... It really is spectacular! I also looked through the pictures that he has on his Flickr account and I must say, that is some outstanding work that he has done....

I was thinking about building the 8070 set and converting the transmission to an actual 4 speed and figuring out another way to run the functions all using parts already in the set... I got a set for my wife back in January and she built it and I looked it over and there appears to be all of the proper parts to do it... I grabbed 10 of the 8070 sets when Toys-R-Us had their buy one get 50% off sale... After I get all of my projects together for Brickfair I might open one up and give it a shot... I haven't built a set since the 8448 Street Sensation came out...

I would have to put this beautiful MOC into my top 10 list...

I really like this... Sariel is an awesome designer...

The studded look definitely gives models that nostalgia look where as everyone that sees the model easily recognizes it as Lego, but times have changed(along with addition of 100's of new unique parts) where as you can build models that are not only exceptionally smooth with great curves, but also offer more of a wow factor because they are tough to tell if they are in fact even made out of Lego... Firas Abu-Jaber's models are a fine example of this. I still appreciate all styles of Lego building whether it be studs, snot, city, castle, or even Victorian Dollhouses... Those 2 models that you provided pictures of are very nice.

I think havenlawrence should have submitted the Yellow Camaro that I did... Why anyone would submit ugly pictures is beyond me... Then again... I guess that I did take them...

Hmmm... I am not sure who havenlawrence is, but I think he would have been better off using one of my newer models since my photo taking skills have gotten better in recent years...

Well... This appears to be the finalized model and I must say that I cannot believe that Lego is in fact using the smooth gray Toggle joints instead of producing the black ones again... Those gray pieces look completely out of place on this model... Hey, can a mod please delete my old "crowkillers" account? I logged in to double check because I was pretty sure that I did have a dormant account under that name for quite some time. I just want to use my real name from now on... Thanks...

Lego Shop at Home always clearances their sets 1/2 off towards the end of their runs usually about 12 to 16 months after they are released and the new sets start to appear. They have done this with every set that I can remember... I am also talking about the large sets like the 8275 Bulldozer and the 8285 Tow Truck(another set that is very expensive to get new) and most recently the 8258 Crane Truck... Unfortunately I only have one sealed 8145 set left here, but it is my wife's. Always keep an eye open at Lego's Shop at Home site and check it every day, because you never know what set will get clearanced out next... I expect the 8041 Race Truck should be coming up soon... That set has some really great parts, especially at 1/2 price...

I had the privilege of getting a sneak peek of this model a few days ago and it really is quite amazing... This here is a prime example of why I consider Mr. Kuipers the top builder in the world...

I snagged up 20 of them when Lego Shop at Home clearanced out the 8145 set out a couple years ago for $54.99... Last year at this same time a MIB 8145 set was right around $200... Now they are $400+

I have seen the BMW dealership edition of the 8461 Williams set sell for $1,200 on Ebay last year...

I do agree with that... Lego sometimes uses words to describe their sets that are sometimes a little strange. Like "Extreme Cruiser" I think the original "Supercar" from 1994 was titled that because of the many functions and features that it had. And many Lego enthusiasts had been begging for another "Supercar" for years , and that was what they got. A car that took a somewhat different approach than the previous "Supercar", but was still an awesome model and featured many new features that had never previously been seen in a Technic model... I personally would consider the 8466 Offroader a "Supercar" ever though it is well... an offroader, because it did have some really great functions. All Wheel Drive, 5 speed tranny, full suspension, a working steering wheel as well as HOG, and really cool doors/fold down steps. I haven't built the set myself, but I have seen the built model in person and it definitely is a great set to purchase(If you have the cash or are lucky to score one cheap) if you are starting out building with Technic... But like someone said before, there have only been 2 sets by Lego that are actually called, "Supercars"

Judging by the small size of it, I would say the chances of any type of gearbox are extremely slim to none... Plus it would probably be on the box somewhere...
