The leak at Reddit was probably the real thing since the pic in the original post has since been removed at the request of Lego.

All that was leaked was one picture. We still haven't seen the minifigures, if it has interior, seen hi-res detailed photos, etc. I think there is enough for Lego to reveal next week still to make it somewhat special.

Could be. Usually they hint the next set on the box art and there is a SD in the lower left.

Also looks like a new UCS Star Destroyer is coming next year ;)

If you look at the back near the engines the top piece looks separate from the body. Maybe it is removable?

I will be picking this up for sure. Snowspeeder has always been one of my favorite vehicles and this UCS set does it justice. Plus I bought no UCS sets in 2016, so this will end the drought ;)

and yeah, thats quite a few stickers. Hate that on UCS sets...

April store calendar is out for the US and no mention of early VIP access for the May 4th set. I know someone mentioned mid April at some point but I guess everyone is getting it in May like last year.

UCS Snowspeeder?

Assault on Hoth UCS was shown at NY Toy Fair last year. UCS Falcon (or whatever it's going to be) will probably be leaked in late August or September.

Excellent! I am waiting to build mine (have a few others to do). This terrible year for UCS (I only collect UCS) is helping me pick up some of the older sets I missed out on.

Compared to the Hasbro toys, these prices don't seem bad or at least seem in line with all of the other RO merchandise. I saw the Rogue One AT-ACT coming from Hasbro is going to be $300 US.

I can see a Falcon and/or Star Destroyer remake within the next two years. Star Destroyer is overdue for one (been 15 years) and the Falcon speaks for itself.

This is typically the case. We envision the perfect set or what it "should" look like and are disappointed when it doesn't match the hype we created. I am curious if there will be a design video. I think Lego is going to treat this as a straight remake and forgo one.

Eh if you don't like it don't buy it. This recent lack of mind blowing UCS sets is allowing me to pick up some old ones like the UCS 10212 Shuttle I just got. Also I am hoping AoH goes on sale next May 4th so I can pick that up :)

Last year gave us the excellent UCS TIE Fighter and Slave 1 and next year a Snowspeeder is already on the way. I haven't lost hope in the UCS line yet. On the bright side, I can use the $500 I saved by not buying this to brick link the DS2.

I think TLG goes by sales of a UCS set to determine longevity. Considering Slave 1 is one of their best selling sets I can see it being around for awhile.

I think DS and Assault on Hoth are not the fault of the designers. They are given what to build by products teams at Lego and I'm sure their designs go through tons of scrutiny by other departments at Lego to make sure it fits the business model. I think they are doing the best they can with that they are told to do. The 10188 is arguably the most successful set in the SW line given how long it was sold for. Probably the longest of any Lego set. I don't blame Lego for wanting to keep something similar on the shelves if it sells. I think another factor is the demand being put on Lego with all of the new movies and properties being cranked out by Disney. They could just be strapped for personnel so they see easy sales by doing Hoth and DS which are essentially remakes. I am sure there is a lot at play here that TLG never discloses.
