The Lego Digital Design part can`t be true because the Lego designers do not use LDD to design their models. They use a custom version of a CAD software that you can not buy commercially or use outside of the Lego company. Either you can name the correct software tool asap or you haven't seen anything except in your vivd imagination

I see, thx, so the contour on the book cover are from the moulding process. There is a completely flat surface on one side and the other side has the Lego ID and a slight indentation (which I perceived as a sticker in the photo from promobricks). I hope I get a version with the printing on the flat surface otherwise the printing will have these weird interruptions.

Different topic: I noticed that the diary of Moaning Myrtle seems to have a sticker applied on this photo which was then printed over (golden clasps at the edges). Could someone who also has the CMFs please check if this is the case for all or if this is just a weird production error?

Now that close-ups of the faces are available of the Fred and Geroge heads do you still think they look like 6 year olds? We get 4 face prints between the twins. 2 of them are completely new and the other 2 are just like the old expressions, only slightly updated. I think the older face prints from 10217 look goofier and younger than the 4 new face prints from the 2020 CMF to be honest:

A flying version of Fawkes would be even better as an exclusive for the Chamber of Secrets set

You are right that I forgot the chain window, candle and flame piece. The pumpkin was released for the Stranger Things set (a full year before the Harry Potter wave used it) and the printed window is not a new mould, but only a print on an existing piece. I was talking about new moulds made specifically for that wave. "All the stuff for figs" is from the CMF budget except for the pieces I mentioned. I know that the 2018 wave borrowed from the Jurassic World budget, that's why I compared it with the other waves, so that we can roughly estimate their normal new piece count. Like I said they released at least 4 new pieces each wave. Which means they could use some of it for the Horcruxes, creature parts, the Elder wand or new Patronuses in the 2021 wave. There are even more things that would require new moulds: - Fang - Troll - Basilisk - Fluffy - Pixies - Werwolf Lupin (mainly the head) - Sirius Animagus form - Aunt Marge - Firebolt - Grindylow - Ukrainian Ironbelly - Kreacher - Resurrection Stone

The Locket could be done with a silver-gold version of the Olympic medal piece with a green snake printed on. The cup would warrant a new mould imo because both existing prize-cup moulds are just too big. The ring could be a modified version of the "one ring"-mould. A cool new set would be the gang camping out in the Forest of Dean with the tent and a small lake scene with the locket and a deer patronus. The 90-100 $ set could be the Gringotts breakout as discussed before with a new cup mould and a new dragon head mould. Medium sized set could be the Ministry set with Yaxley, Umbridge, dementor and Harry, Ron and Hermione in their Polyjuice versions with a cat patronus and the locket. Hogwarts expansion could feature one Hogwarts statue with a new helmet mould

A new mould for the Elder Wand would also be great. They have shown that there can be a lot of new moulds in a wave, even the cheaper sets, like the Room of Requirement. They could also start revisiting the earlier movies like a small Defence against the Dark Arts classroom with a different variant of Lockhart and a new Pixie mould like they did for the Patronuses Edit: I count 4 new moulds in the summer wave of 2020: 1. Flying owl 2. Centaur body 3. Otter Patronus 4. Hare Patronus 2019 had the Beauxbatons hat, Stag patronus, Buckbeak and the new window frame piece in the Knight Bus 2018 had Dumbledore's hair, Thestral, Thunderbird/Occamy head and beak, the Sorting Hat and Hermione's hair (the rest of the new pieces like the wands appeared also in the CMF, so I am not counting them towards the normal set budget) So they seem to have a budget for at least 4 new moulds per wave. There also were a lot of recolours and new prints but I am not counting those. Diagon Alley might also include a few new moulds but it isn't really part of the normal wave like 71043 (which had 2 new pieces)

I love the sand blue colour of the potion book. Such a great recolour and the printed page is great too. The leaflet made it look like it's dbg

There is a Taboo curse placed on that name. Every time you mention his name, a microscale snatcher apparates into this thread

It would be cool. I just shortened the official snake piece and it fits perfectly into a hollow stud. TLG would have to redesign the injection molding tool though, because they inject it at the bottom where I cut it off. That's my only gripe with the new CMF. They should have left out one twin and given us Lucius instead (OOTP variant with the snake cane and a new dual-molded Death Eater mask+hood mould). Because of the new mask mould it would worked as an Army builder minifig for death eaters and would have been a topseller because everyone would want multiples

They could just improve the printing of the sideburns. No need for a new hairpiece

I think these are three different kind of book covers. Flourish and Blotts has some physically impossible stacked books all around . The only way they could represent these crooked stacks - without them flying everywhere - is with colourful 1x2 and 2x2 jumper plates topped of by a 2x2 tile (the sand green sticker would go on top). The writing on them is blurry, but they are paired and have writing on them which look like "[unreadable] Book"

Tan would be better (for both) imo
-
I think that would be perfect. Is it tan or bright yellow?

Next year he will tell us all about the microscale Hogsmeade D2C that the nephew of his uncle's sister told him about

Guys, this is just a troll. Maybe even our favourite whiny "leaker" Lord Voldemort, because the name is kind of a tell "Youknowwho". He got banned a few hundred pages ago and rises from the dead from time to time stirring up some meaningless discussion

Happened when the graphic designer was only working with a Google picture search instead of the real prop... The name is on the back cover so the gold clasps are left, but the graphic designer only saw a photo of the back (without knowing it's the back) and since the binding is usually on the left put the clasps on the wrong side...

Just a heads up for the CMF: Promobricks will release more pics of the CMF this weekend

The Marble Staircase Tower (in the Great Hall set) did not include any portraits and only one tiny staircase which wasn't even accurate to the Grand staircase that we see in most of the movies. In my opinion the Great Hall set needs an update and they can improve on a lot

Just hold the pics side by side and tell me that the smirk is not similar. It's even on the same side... On a side note: the old Fred and George have the wrong colour for their suits. Well it will cost that in a few months, because they will no longer produce it ( it has reached EOL-status)

The modular Hogwarts sets (Great Hall, Astronomy Tower) were never complete and aren't to this day, yet no one is saying he's not buying the Great Hall because there is no Bell Towers (or Astronomy Tower in 2018). If Gringotts (or Borgin and Burkes) is a seperate set which will release in six to eight months, then both sets will be available on the shelf for the next three years. So there is plenty of time for the hardships of the pandemic to recede and for everyone to save 500 quids to buy the sets eventually...

You should look at the better quality pics of the cmf box art. They have double sided faces (each one unique so you get 4 possible expressions for the twins) and one expression is almost the identical slight smirk as on the old figure. And the laughing face on the old one looks also similar to one of the 4 new expressions. The grainy picture you propably saw and judged them from made it look like they have "hare" teeth which isn't the case. It was just the pixelated scan quality. So please check the better pictures or wait for the high quality press release before you pass judgement

The old Diagon Alley will only have a diminished sentimental value going forward. This one will have so much more detail and a better minifig selection. Fred and George will be no longer exclusive, which were a big draw for the old set. Also if you look at the buildings it's kind of like comparing the two Burrows. The new one will be more screen accurate, while the old is more simplistic compared to the pieces and techniques available to the designers nowadays

The first three on sheet A could be from Gringotts for three goblin desks. The rest of the interior like chandeliers, galleons, desks and scales could be all brick built. Furthermore the sign of Gringotts is on the curved balcony, which they tend to print when the pieces are circular. To prove my point there is also no sticker for the WWW face, just the torso and tie on sheet D. So the face is either also a print (because it's similar to Grawp's or Neemar Reem's face on a curved brick) or it is entirely brick-built
