I notice some of the 1H sets are now saying retiring soon on S@H, which is understandable given the usual 2yr cycle - but I notice today the acclaimed 42054 Class Xerion is also marked as such - seems a bit premature given it was a 2H set and it's popularity?

This is true! Do you usually know they are coming or do they just land on your doorstep?

I see that S@H USA has got 42071, 42072, 42073, 42074 and 42084 in stock and ready to order - guess it makes a change for you guys to be first No sign of 42075-8 though hoping they'll make an appearance for week before Christmas delivery like the H1 sets did last year in the U.K. - really looking forward to building the car and truck (and an excuse to be in the roof out the way )

Also at leister square this morning where the saving is £15 for the above - when you buy ANY technic set you get £25 of your next over £100 Technic purchase in store or online in November (ish)

Unless I've completely lost the plot won't these come out 1st Jan - or earlier - looking on S@H I ordered some 2017 H1 sets on 21st December 2016! so we'll likely see something official November/December?

For me this is currently the most interesting and the review I've been waiting for, the other two are cool but your not likely to see them in action, I see one of these most weeks and can't wait to build - I can't believe I haven't actually got it yet! Mind you I only got round to finishing the BWE on the weekend which I got nearly a year ago!

Could I be really off the wall and suggest a different element for each status? For someone who is dispraxic borderline dyslexic having a real notable change is much easier to compute!

I think there needs to be some really good contrast between them so if going from Jim's selection above red, white and DBG but ideally I'd go for something that can be yellow, dark blue and red so it is really clear!

Does anyone know if Lego allow anyone on there stand at the toy fair next week or is it by invite/appointment only? I have legitimate access to the exhibition. If I can get on - according to the website I will be treated with a showcase of the 2016 range..... Let's hope that's a typo or copy and paste from last year!

@Lipko have you considered this was ideas? This is equally as awesome as the backhoe, but I'm wondering and please don't think me as talking out of turn in anyway here, but this might be slightly more successful as it looks slightly more finished and this might appeal more to the ideas voters? I have no idea (pun intended) it was just a thought! anyhow I'll be off to rebrickable and bricklink to get this built asap as my little boy just goes "wow" every time he sees it!

I've just supported this on ideas, it's a great set - I need to get my head round these LDD/Ldraw files etc and build this! it's a shame technic models don't really seem to get much traction on ideas with all you great techni mocers about - it would be good if the EB technic members could get together and give them some traction - if only to get TLG to up there game!

I'm definitely not sure about the 42070, it might be the blue makes it look odd, but is it me or is there something really not right about that picture/box that might be giving us the wrong opinion, the top/left hand corner looks to be in 3d and the bottom/right in 2d, its like its been skewed - are we actually sure this is a legit leak??? I get that it's a mock up, but something just isn't right. I like the idea of it, and it could have some good functions if it's not half baked by the time it get's to the shelves- hopefully not all panels and no gears................ Maybe it's time they brought back model team if they think there is a market for that kind of thing (I would be in that market!) rather than dumbing down technic? Personally I like both MT and Technic, for different reasons, but if it says Technic it should be Technic I think this has the makings of being a great 2H Flagship, but after last year's offerings and being it's the 40th year it's got it's work cut out to impress... or at least impress the AFOLs, as others have said, is this aimed at us or the 11+ on the box?? Also, though going on previous years I would query this being the flagship(ish) models - age ranges on boxes: 42056 - 16+ 42055 - 12 - 16 42054 - 11 - 16 42053 - 10 - 16 42043 - 11 - 16 42042 - 10 - 16 42030 - 11 - 17 42070 11+.................. just saying.............

Fantastic review of 42064 - really made me laugh and brightened up my whole weekend! As usual great review... I've got to work all night so I might retrieve this one from the attic to build to keep me awake!
