  1. Maybe the revised version didn't sell that well given a lot of AFOLs would have had the original and the newer version was just the same thing with updated minifigs? Would take a completely new version to get me interested.
  2. An ideal Battle pack for Episode 9 for me would be 2x Sith troopers & 2x Jet Troopers. given each appear only once in sets in this year's wave..
  3. Impressive. Most impressive. Probably not for me though as I prefer playsets/diorama style sets with tons of minifigs than giant freaking spaceships. Hopefully we’ll get a new master builder series set next year.
  4. I'm not a dog person so it looks close enough to a pug for me. The Fright Knight's head looks quite washed out FYI. I looked at some reviews online and this definitely seems to be a design decision rather than a manufacturing fault.
  5. Would be nice if they put both stud shooters and regular blasters in the battlepacks so you could choose which you like. I'm sure sooner or later they'll overhaul the blasters to make them look more like the film weapons and they'll be a huge outcry.
  6. These have arrived in Australia as I picked up all the ones I was after last night. My favourites are the Bounty Hunter, Dog poop girl, Explorer and Mummy Queen. The pug and the chameleon are great little animals (not so keen on the sausage dog). Interesting that these are not made exclusively in China anymore. The quality has certainly improved a great deal since some of the early series.
  7. Death Star set is pretty ordinary - Obiwan's hood is nice but the rest is forgettable. The gun looks nothing like the ones in the film with the barrel much too short. A-Wing, Y-Wing & MF have some nice figures but don't look very compelling being rehashes with slight colour changes. Interesting the MF has gone back to a round dish. Skiff/Bike set looks ok, although in a galaxy where vehicles either have legs or hover the bike seems a bit out of place. Mandalorian set is a bit of a weird choice - the Mandalorian's space ship would have been the obvious choice for a set but maybe wouldn't have fitted into the assigned price point. Nice figures I guess but I'll wait to see the show before opening my wallet. Kylo's Shuttle is the crowning glory of the wave. If I had to criticize I'd say I would have preferred a shuttle pilot or additional Sith Trooper to the generic FO trooper included. Otherwise the only set of the wave I'm definitely getting. I fully expect a BP will have additional Sith Troopers/Jet Pack Troopers (or even Knights of Ren) early next year. I actually don't mind Yoda after seeing some more of the close up shots. It's not for me but they've done a decent job with it.
  8. If the next UCS set is indeed a classic Star Destroyer, it may well be the vehicle only without minifigs as we've seen no leaks so far save for episode 9 figures and it's sure to be announced shortly given it will likely be a September release.
  9. Not bad - I'll probably get the Fright Knight and the Mummy for myself. Maye the gamer boy for my eldest son.
  10. 20th Anniversary Obi Wan polybag has leaked. Possible gift with purchase with the upcoming UCS?
  11. He'll be in the 2023 version. I guess Ben's hut is at least something new, even if the minifig selection is uninspiring. Shame neither set included a molded Bantha which would have been awesome.
  12. I got a Toyworld catalog (see https://www.toyworld.com.au/latest-catalogue) the other day which had them listed on the front page as a "Limited Release". Of course my local Toyworld doesn't have any and hasn't for ages and postage from the Sydney warehouse to Canberra is $19! This is boneheaded by TLG. If they ever get that and the Clone Walker in stock simultaneously again at S@H I guess I'll reluctantly pull the trigger as even paying postage for an order <$149 with the current exchange rate it will still be cheaper than buying from an OS retailer like Barnes & Noble especially if I spend a few VIP points.
  13. I don't have any great nostalgia for the JP movies (I was in my 20s when they came out) so to be honest I would have preferred a JW theme park which could have been supplemented with a couple of the sets in the current JW wave. I guess this set looks decent but the scale is a real issue for me, with the oversized gate featuring minifig-scaled vignettes set into the rear. Also it's impossible to display with other JP/JW sets and dinos because the dinosaur is so freaking huge it will dwarf everything.
  14. Boost set details: http://brickingaround.com/2019/05/04/boost-droid-commander-boost-meets-lego-star-wars/ No interest to me and the price seems a bit much for a kids' gift. We'll see how this goes I guess.
  15. I doubt this was a general discount - probably specific to a particular franchise store. I've never heard of Toyworld offering a flat 20% discount nationwide before.
  16. Pod racer, snowspeeder and Slave I seem to be general releases. Scout Walker & Drop Ship appear to be Toyworld exclusives for no good reason.
  17. Toyworld have them listed online so I suspect they're a Toyworld retail exclusive - given Toyworld never seems to offer substantial discounts on RRP you're probably better getting them direct from Lego S@H for the VIP points. I'm waiting to see what special offers there are on May 4 before I order. New Tantive looks ok but it is odd it's not labelled as a UCS given May 4 has traditionally always had one. Personally I'm more interested in the rumoured ISD coming later this year though...
  18. Picked up the new Lego SW visual dictionary. Have to say it's pretty disappointing, especially compared to the Ultimate LSW book that came out a couple of yeas ago. There's 3 sections covering PT, OT and ST sets and a little bit of fluff at the end about the design team/process. No updated minifig line up and the included fig is so undesirable I doubt I'll ever remove it. Also in Australia no sign of the Drop Ship/Scout Walker 20th Anniversary sets yet except at ToyWorld. I guess I'll wait to see what the May 4th offers are this year and order them direct from Lego rather than pay full RRP at Toyworld.
  19. The most recent system scale ISD and the FOSD both have quite nice interiors. The shape of the Tantive may be a bit more restrictive though. Maybe they could do a Tantive corridor set one day in the same vein as the recent Death Star Escape set? Obvious play feature would be the door blowing off. Funny thing is if that was the only scene you ever saw with the Stormtroopers in it you'd think they were the most elite, gung-ho troops in the galaxy...
  20. I love the Triceratops set especially the collapsible wall which will look great straddled by a dino. The shop stand in the smallest set looks fantastic too and will go well with the above set, although the oversized drone is a waste of pieces. The only decent thing about the largest set is the new T-Rex printing and the 4 baby dinos. The volcano likes awful as does the mech. I guess the boat is OK but not sure why they bothered with a block built version when they already have a mould for this kind of boat. The Treasure Hunt is nice I guess but I wouldn't exactly call the dino "iconic" and you'd probably need to see the TV show to appreciate some of the characters.
  21. I'll be getting the sweet new Slave I as I just managed to flog my old 8097 off to someone for only a few dollars less than I paid for it new (never got the UCS version as I prefer playsets to vehicles at that price point). Wouldn't surprise me if Zuckuss turns up in a cheaper set later though like from the Mandalorian TV series. Also a Drop Ship for the cheap new stormies. Maybe the Episode III walker as I like the minibuilds and the sweet 20th Anniversary Vader. Haven't see Resistance yet so no real interest in those sets although the Red Interceptor makes me wish for an Imperial version...
  22. No interest in the pod racer or snoespeeder, but the other sets are nice enough. I’m not usually into PT stuff but the walker set looks nice with the little mini builds + 20th anniversary Vader! Dropship is a nice army builder but could have done without the useless yellow Han and I hate the stud shooters. Slave I is great and Zuckuss magnificent but not sure I can justify it unless I can sell my 8097. I wouldn’t put it past TLG to sneak him into a cheaper set at some stage either.
  23. Love the Pew Pew sound effects added to the box - if only they’d added a Swosh as well... Microfigures & baby dinos make sense as the ship obviously isn’t minifig scale.
  24. Like the look of the UCS set - agreed that sewer babies are missing but hopefully they'll be available from somewhere. Love the nice "Planet of the Apes" nod and the Mad Max style characters are great (especially "Where are my pants?" dude). Looking forward to what the minifig series throws up.
  25. I think this would be a mistake. The 10th Anniversary sets had flesh tones and I think most fans would prefer sets with figures that blend in with their existing collection rather than a retro look. Leave the yellow skinned figs to one offs like the Luke that came in one of the DK books a few years back.
