  1. Possibly, but it is most likely to allow multiple ways to set up the set itself. It would be awesome if they did the scene with Sidious vs. Yoda, as an add on set. It could have Sidious (both sides of head evil, one with teeth showing, the other not), a new Yoda, Mas Amedda, and some Royal Guards.
  2. There are two functions that flank either side of the desk. The first function hides and reveals Sidious's weapons, while the other allows him to be launched at the Jedi from either side of his desk. After seeing these hi res pics, the set only looks better to me. I only have three major gripes with it, and both have to do with the figures. First, why the hell didn't they upgrade Fisto with at least more accurate clothes. His torso and legs should be the same color as Mace, but with a different design, more akin to Kolar. My second problem is Mace. He is made of recycled parts (CW body, Seso from Prince of Persia head). I could (and have) made this figure myself. Lastly, Sidious's hair! Why does TLG think it looks like this! I get it for the CW version, but this movie version should have white Jace Malcolm hair. It would look way better. Other than that, it is a great set. Anakin is great, and the little speeder is just a great addition.
  3. This Osgiliath set is your best set yet! Amazing work! I would buy it for sure (if it had official figures). Can't wait to see more sets!
  4. I was thinking that too. It made me wonder, with all the advanced printing TLG can do these days, could they print onto a lightsaber hilt? If they wanted to effectively represent Sidious's lightsaber, a black hilt with gold printing on the rings (the part of the piece right above where the hand goes, below the blade emmitter). Then maybe the top ring of the blade emitter could be gold as well. They could do the same for Luke's green saber hilt, Obi-Wan's hilt post-AOTC, and so forth.
  5. This should be turned into a poll. I would have to say either Legolas or Théoden, although I do love them all equally. Also, maybe Gollum. Is that too many favourites?
  6. I agree there! That face looks bad! I'm happy he has an alternate face. As for Tiin and Kolar, they look nice.
  7. I do agree that it was lazy for them to reuse Mace's and Saesee's clothes, and Kit is just getting so outdated to the point where I just feel bad for the guy! But, it looks like Kolar has a new torso print, and both he and Tiin have new faces, so that's a plus. Also, Sidious just looks awesome (swap that head and some flesh hands with the grey and black that are on the current Sidious figs, and he will looks epic! I just wish they had made a dark red hood, so he could wear his cloak from the scene where he declares the creation of the Empire). Unfortunately, that gold hilt has been around for a while. It came out back when the Ninjago theme started, used as the ends of gold nun chucks. Still, I'm glad they did that to show the difference between his hilt and everyone elses.
  8. I agree. There are quite a few scenes in both AOTC and ROTS that can be recreated using this set. And I think a Jedi Temple set based on AOTC would be good ( new AOTC Obi-Wan, Anakin, Yoda, and possibly younglings!) But wishlists are not meant for here.
  9. By far the best Star Wars set this year!
  10. I would, but I don't enough black pieces to do it justice. Also, since my whole army will be (minus the two goblins, the troll, and the Nazgul) made up of Isengard Uruks, so it wouldn't be fitting.
  11. I have a feeling it will look great, but I don't have all the funds for the 8 more Uruk-hai Army sets I need. It may not be done for another month.
  12. I'd love to see someone actually get 10,000 Uruks. No, by the end of my project I should have 48 Uruks, along with my two goblins, two Nazgul, and the Troll. I would do that, but I don't have the pieces, and it just isn't that much of a concern for me.
  13. Hello everyone! As I mentioned over in the LOTR discussion thread, I just recently got Helm's Deep. As soon as I finished building the set, I started MODing it. Here are a few pictures of what I have so far, and what I plan on doing. So, here is a wide shot of what I have so far. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/legoman-1/LOTR/img_3588.jpg Here is a view from the back (yes, I made a pen for some animals ). Here is the Hall where Theoden is getting some advice and counsel. At the back here, I plan on buying and adding four more Uruk-hai Army wall sections. There is exactly 16 studs from the connection bit on the inner wall and the edge of the baseplate, which is the exact length of one Uruk-hai Army wall. What I plan on doing is building one normally, but instead of finishing the top, I will continue building it with the pieces from the second set. For the wall section on the left side, I plan on MODing a door in, so it will be in this general area. Then, to fill the gap between the back of the tower, I made this little rock bit. It may not be very movie accurate, but it works. Also, the hobbits are having a nice feast. These three trees, which might have been spotted in the first pic, are place holders for three more Uruk-hai Army sections I need to finish the Deeping Wall. Then, I have built my own version of the big archway section that sits behind the inner wall. I plan on somehow connecting it to the four wall bits that will be made to extend the inner wall, so it will look something like this (sorry, I didn't notice that the gate was in focus rather than the archway bit before it was too late). And finally, here are a few pics of my current army of Evil, which will grow quite a bit after I am done with my addictions and changes to Helm's Deep.
  14. Right now, I think my Uruk army is somewhere in the teens. I plan on making a few mods/additions to my current Helm's Deep, which pretty much means I need to buy 8 more Uruk-hai Army sets. Three more for the Deeping Wall, four for the inner circle wall, and one for the outer circle wall. Then my Uruk army will be around 35-40, and my Rohan army will be a good size too. I'll take some pictures of what I have so far and post them in a new thread. The only thing is that I need to pour another $320 into it before it's done.
  15. I forgot about that. I hope they use the correct music with the correct scenes, rather than have the Siege of Minas Tirith music in Shelob's Lair. Still, I think it might be the best LEGO game yet.
  16. On the subject of Beorn, Bilbo and all the Dwarves can walk between his legs. So, I would hope (and expect) Beorn to be similar in size to the cave troll, maybe a little smaller.
  17. I'm guessing it's the latter. If the Hobbit trailer was any indication of what the music will be, the dwarf song will be turned into the theme for the group (much like the Fellowship theme in LOTR). THe music on the site sounds like very typical fantasy music, whereas Howard Shore's music sounds far more ancient, and should be instantly recognizable. The evidence on the site that they don't have the music makes me worried for the video game. I'm worried it will be like the POTC game, where they used music that wasn't in the film all through the game (only, they DID have the music for POTC ). Still, the little video for Moria is the best so far, and showcases the features and figures nicely. I'm excited to see the animation for Helm's Deep!
  18. The LEGO site has been updated with Mines of Moria and some lame background music that isn't from the films. http://thelordoftherings.lego.com/en-us/default.aspx?icmp=COUSFR35LOTR The video for Moria shows an interesting light bley prototype of the Troll. Also, I got Helm's Deep last night, and it is just amazing! Possibly the best castle LEGO has ever produced!
  19. I think that Goblin Town (the Great Goblin's kingdom) will be the biggest set for the first Hobbit wave. Since the first wave is only based on the first movie, and I think that it has been hinted that the first movie ends in Mirkwood with the spiders (apparently Tauriel appears), then Goblin Town could be done as a large scale battle scene, because it is the closest thing to a battle up to that point. I've put some thought into how the wave could be done, and if they do the wave in the same fashion as the first LOTR wave (price and set size wise), then this is how I think it should pan out: Gollum's Cave: small set, similar in size and price to Gandalf Arrives. Includes the entrance to the cave, some rocks, Gollum and his boat, Bilbo, and the Ring. Escape from the Wargs: medium-small set, similar in size to Shelob Attacks. Includes two big brick-built trees, some Wargs, and maybe Gandalf, Bilbo, and Nori. Beorn's House: medium sized set, similar to The Orc Forge (cold be the hard to find set of the wave). Includes a section of Beorn's house, Beorn, Bilbo, and some of the Dwarves, and maybe some animals. Trollshaw: medium-large set, similar in size to Weathertop. Includes the three trolls, the camp fire, some roast mutton, Bilbo and the talking purse, and some of the dwarves. Maybe a tree or two. Spider Encounter: large set, similar to Mines of Moria. Includes a bunch of creepy trees, lots of spider webs, some functions for capturing and freeing the dwarves, three or four spiders (built in a similar way to Shelob, only on a smaller scale), Bilbo, Bombur and some other dwarves, and maybe Tauriel, depending on if she appears in the film at this point. Finally, Goblin Twon: large set, like Helm's Deep. Includes the main throne room with the Great Goblin, and some tunnel networks that break off to separate rooms or something (it will all depend on how it is depicted in the film), a bunch of Goblins, Bilbo, Thorin, and some of the other dwarves. Also, what TLG could do, like they did with the Fellowship, is spread out the Dwarves across all of the sets, so you have to get a certain amount of the sets to collect the whole group. It wold suck for collectors, but for TLG, it would be very smart.
  20. After some discussion in the LOTR thread, I thought I should start this topic for those who already know the story of The Hobbit. So, let the discussion begin!
  21. I would say that is very likely. I doubt LEGO would get the license for this theme and then not milk it for everything it's worth. I could see maybe three or four more waves of LOTR before its over.
  22. I'm sorry, I forgot about the report button. I won't mini-mod in the future.
  23. I'm sorry, but Omicron and LRDark, your discussion about minifig customization is becoming very off topic. I'm not trying to mini-mod, but it would probably be a good idea if you continued your conversation in the Minifig Customization Forum.
  24. If you want the opinion of another 'purist' on what the exactly a 'pursuit', I think it is someone who only uses LEGO's official products. They will make custom figs only if it does not mean using other materials (I've heard a lot about sculpy), or ruining parts (breaking pieces to make them look different). That being said, changing flesh figs to yellow is completely fine, since they are still completely made up of official LEGO parts, and the parts have not been modified in an irreversible way.
  25. That could work. I could also see something with a Nazgul, allowing people to get all of the Nine really cheaply. ALso, they could do something with Haldir, so multiples would mean that people could just use the extras (with a change of head) as more Elven warriors. I really want to see some Lothlorien Elves (the ones at Helm's Deep). Another idea would be poly bags for the Dwarves from the Hobbit.
