  1. Watchd 'Chronicle' last night. Really great movie! Although the plot seemed like it was going nowhere for the first while, it was still really amusing. A really cool special effects movie, and the handheld camera aspect of it was awesome. Made the whole movie more personal for the viewer. 8.5/10
  2. The Hobbit sets have been confirmed for a December 1st release date.
  3. I have a Wii and live in Canada. I'm getting both the fig and the game regardless of weather it is through pre order or not, but will I be able to get this ore order deal?
  4. Wow, Elrond is amazing! The printing is fantastic, and the hair looks great in dark brown. My only gripe is the sword. It shouldn't be gold. Elves didn't have gold swords. They should have done it in silver. It would have made it more accurate and offset the intensity of his gold armour. Also, I find it funny that people are worried that this sword might be a one time thing. If it is, then LEGO must be planning to never release another Elf fig after this. This sword will most likely become the standard Elven blade for all of the LOTR theme, being used by Last Alliance elves, Lothlorien elves, and Mirkwood elves. That way LEGO will maximize their usage of a relatively generic weapon, much like the highlander sword for most of the Men in the first wave. I just hope we get it in silver after this, and never see another gold one.
  5. Haha, love the Deadpool one, Oky! Your funnies never cease to be some of the best!
  6. I completely agree with you. Luckily, I live only two hours north of the Fairview and Sherway LEGO stores, so I've gotten to the point where I only buy LEGO when I can get it from there. I never buy from TRU anymore, because I can't get VIP points from them or anywhere else other than LEGO itself. Anyway, this is really off topic. I can't wait to see the Gandalf the White fig. I watched The Two Towers today, and for most of that movie, his hair is loose. But, in ROTK, he has his hair tied back. It got me thinking if they will have him with his hair tied or not. If its tied, they could just reuse the Will Turner hair but in white, or they could make a completely new piece. Also, does anyone else think that Shadowfax could be included as well? That way LEGO will have made Shadowfax, put it in an exclusive giveaway witch limits it's production, making it cheaper. And, it would just be awesome.
  7. Tree of Gondor. Sorry, I had to be the nerd who corrects this.
  8. This is by far your best set! Amazing! If this were an actual set, I'd buy it in a heartbeat! It's practically exactly what I was thinking of when I imagined how LEGO would make this set! Let's hope they do something as good as this! I love all the little rooms, reminds me of the most recent Hogwarts set. Also, when should we expect to see the next set, and if you're unsure, could you hint at what it will be?
  9. I had to say the Conquistador because of his armour. Sure, gold is a bit intense, but it still is awesome, and will be useful to make numerous castle guards/soldiers/knights, and could blend into the LOTR theme well as Elven armour. I'm unsure what my favourite series is, so I chose series 2, because that one had the Spartan, which is still probably my favourite from this theme. I think they should continue this line, but when it gets to the point when we are just getting remakes in new colours, I think LEGO should put the effort put into this into different themes. But, as long as there are some really great figures, particularly warrior types, I'll keep buying.
  10. I'm with you. I was considering pre-ordering it, but until I see the fig and know I'll get one, I'm not doing anything. I'm guessing we'll see it advertised in mid to late August, closer to the actual release of the game. I'm getting more excited about the Gandalf the White fig than I am about the game!
  11. I said The Orc King because I'm really excited to see what the orcs and goblins will be like, and I hope this set has a decent number of them!
  12. I just found this interesting bit from the TDKR novelization, which makes a reference to the fate of the Joker. “Now that the Dent Act had made it all but impossible for the city’s criminals to cop an insanity plea, it (Blackgate Prison) had replaced Arkham Asylum as a preferred location for imprisoning both convicted and suspected felons. The worst of the worst were sent here, except for the Joker, who, rumor had it, was locked away as Arkham’s sole remaining inmate. Or perhaps he had escaped. Nobody was really sure. Not even Selina.”
  13. What is in the appendices is just notes that Tolkien wrote. Tolkien was going to rewrite the Hobbit book to include it all, but I guess it just never happened. I think there is enough to make a trilogy. If they have been able to make two films and still have stuff they want to include, it would be awesome if they made three films! That way, not only will they cover almost everything in the story, it will lengthen the LOTR/Hobbit license for however many years it takes for this new trilogy to be released, meaning more Hobbit and LOTR sets.
  14. That's awesome! I love the super hero cafe videos, they are the best parts of any of the HISHE videos. Great job!

    Canadian Eh?

Thanks for the news about the SW sets. This is gonna be torture, since I need to save money, but these sets are so damn tempting!
  16. I think the reason Black Widow doesn't look exactly the way she does in the movie is the same as why the upcoming Jim Gordon fig is wearing a S.W.A.T. vest. The fig is based on the character, not their exact film depiction. Nonetheless, your funnies continue to be hilarious, Oky.
  17. Done.
  18. I like the look of the new torso for Bilbo. I also really like how they were able to recreate that part of the Hobbit trailer pretty much exactly. Also, if I remember correctly, someone a few pages back mentioned how if you beat the Helm's Deep game on LEGO's LOTR site three times or something, the Elrond pic is unlocked. If someone has that pic of Elrond without the chains over him, could they post it here? Just thought I'd ask.
  19. The prison wasn't Arkham, it was The Pit, Nolan's realistic, non-fantasy version of the Lazarus Pit.
  20. The more I think about it, a helmet would be strange. Still, I can't wait to get my hands on this fig, and I'm really upset that LEGO didn't jump on the Dark Knight Trilogy sooner. I would have loved more than one set based on this amazing trilogy. Just enough sets to get the vital heroes and villains, like Alfred, Rachel, Selina, Ra's, Crane, Joker, Harvey and Miranda Tate. But, alas,we will most likely never see these characters made into official figures in sets based on exact scenes from the films, and this is not the place for such dreams and wishes. On another note, although we only know about Batman, Bane and Gordon for the FIRST wave, we could see a set with a TDKR Catwoman in the SECOND wave of next year. Although unlikely, it could happen.
  21. Ok, here are my thoughts on TDKR: Amazing! Awesome! Scrumtrelescent! This movie was by far the best of the year, blowing Avengers out of the water! The way that Nolan was able to bring this amazing story to a conclusion, without leaving any loose ends, was astounding! Christian Bale was as good as ever! There isn't much to say since we've seen him, along with Freeman, Caine and Oldman in the previous movies. All their performances were great! Anne Hathaway was perfect as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. She had that snarky way of talking, and I loved how she wasn't really on anyones side except her own. Tom Hardy. He has officially become one of my favourite actors. I read something recently about how he created the voice of Bane, and how he purposely made his voice condradict his physical appearance, which worked really well for the character. Still can't decide if I like Bane as a villain better than Joker, but they are so different that they can't be compared. I felt like Bane was similar to Darth Vader in the sense that when he was in the room, his presence alone strikes fear into everyones hearts, while Joker didn't have that. Marion Cotillard was great as Miranda Tate. I'm not gonna say too much about her though, since I don't want spoil anything. Same goes for Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who did a fantastic job as being the inadvertent sidekick to Batman. Overall, an amazing movie with a lot of twists and a great ending!
  22. Now that I've seen TDKR, I'm a little disappointed with how LEGO has done Bane's mask. I think it should be a helmet that fits around his whole head, just leaving his eyes and upper parts of his head exposed, same as the mask itself. The actual breather part that covers his mouth is too big to just be printed.
  23. Just got back from TDKR. I'm still shaken by the awesomeness of it. I think I'll need a day to process everything before I can give my thoughts.
  24. I'm not gonna complain about the news of theGandalf the White fig. I'll definitely need to pre-order this game! Sure, he may not come in a set within the next year because of this, but at least he'll be available rather soon!
  25. That's not the thread he's referring to. I started a thread exclusively for talking about availability of the sets (release dates, prices, etc), but it was closed because it is believed that those sorts of things can be discussed here. I disagree, since it muddies up this thread and makes it look like there could be news but it's just a post about someone finding Shelob Attacks at a store in the UK.
