Honestly, this forum is one of the ones I consider least likely to have spoilers. It's so focused- there's no General Star Wars Discussion thread; If you can't build it, it doesn't belong here. So unless your viewing experience would be ruined by someone showing off their MOC of a vehicle we haven't seen in the trailers, you'll probably have nothing to worry about. On that note, did anyone else think that the revelation that the real mastermind behind the First Order was the Dionaga from A New Hope was just a bit too much fanservice? (Disclaimer: I just made that up)

It's so much like the scene from the movie that it's entirely computer-generated! Sorry, I just had to take that did at the movies. It's honestly a great-looking set; Lots of neat touches like Battle Droid-bodied 3PO, and it's really such a logical choice for an action set that I'm surprised it hadn't been a thing before now!

Great stuff! I can tell that they're playing as we speak!
-
Hey, that almost sounds like something I could do! Of course, I'd probably set the tube in the wrong shape, thus ruining it for everything.
-
I'm holding out for the version that's shaped like a flat-topped mountain, like a butte but larger. It's called the "Mesa Jar-Jar".
-
I'd say I'd wait for them to turn up on Bricklink, but based on this thread alone I think they're going to be the only part of the set not on there!
-
Okay, now you're definitely being 'too snarky'. Especially since only two of those links have anything resembling instructions, which was specifically what he asked for. I can also tell you from experience that both those sets of instructions are too confusing for a beginning modder, which I can understand someone such as you who is more skilled not realizing. Edit: Technically the first set of instructions aren't too confusing, but they don't fix the rubber bands issue, which is one of the two big issues I have with the set. Again, I'm sure a skilled builder such as you could effortlessly combine this wing alignment fix with a rubber band fix, but some of us aren't as good as you are.
-
That's the best news I've heard all day! Well, I'm not sure if 'snarky' is the right word, but... It was obvious that he, like a fair deal of us here, don't consider TLG's version 'good enough', so your response came off as deliberately unhelpful, even trying to make him seem like an idiot.

What a coincidence- I just got Constraction Grievous and Kenobi. Once I got a separate cape for Grievous, he really shined!
-
I don't know if he will, but I will. I prefer real windscreens, even if they're technically inferior. I'll probably change the intakes too- they look amazing, but the potential problems associated with them are too much for my tiny mind!
-
That would be magnificent. People here have been very helpful, but I'm just not up to the task of designing a mod or MOC myself or even reverse-engineering from pictures, and I want a shiny white-and-blue T-70 so badly!

What? Most Star Wars fighters have gravity.
-
It's funnier my way.Besides, just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do something. Having multiple planes of gravity on a small ship is a good way to tear it apart when you try high-g maneuvers. A bigger ship can soak up the risk, but something shaped like that transport could get snapped in half like a Kit Kat.
-
What.I missed that. I'm- I'm speechless.

I just roughly priced your kit and even without filtering to find least expense it comes out to roughly 1,800 Euros including shipping to my location, so yes, plus your 5 Euros for instructions, he's effectively charging 2,328 Euros for having assembled it for the buyer. Who, if they're the kind of person who wants a giant Lego set, probably wants to assemble it themselves anyway. It's kind of the point of the hobby!

Well, if most of your military knowledge comes from Star Wars, I can definitely understand the confusion, since during the Clone Wars, Jedi Generals and General Grievous both seemed to outrank their Admirals, but that's because in both their cases those titles are honorary, and they really operated outside the command structure of their respective militaries. In the Jedi's case, since the Order was co-ordinating the Republic war effort, they were effectively allowed to give orders to everyone. Their honorary titles came from the Army branch of the services because they were most integrated into the command structure of the Clone Troopers, and not the Navy. In Grievous's case, he was in fact an accredited General, but that was from his time in the Kaleesh Armed Forces, an organization he was discharged from due to his catastrophic injuries. His actual rank within the CIS military was Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, which is exactly what it sounds like. He preferred to be addressed by the inferior title of 'General' due to nostalgia, the same reason that he and his bodyguard droids wear Kaleesh-patterned cloaks and shawls despite not needing them. Now, in the new Canon continuity, the Imperial Armed Forces (including the Navy) are under the control of a Grand General after the battle of Yavin, but that appears mainly to be because he's the sole surviving member of the Imperial Joint Chiefs of Staff after the destruction of the first Death Star, and is therefore effectively the sole Chief of Staff until and unless the Emperor sees fit to appoint replacements.

Holy heck! That's crazy! I'm a lazy man, but not lazy enough to spend a what, $2,500 markup after Bricklinking costs just so I don't have to build the thing!
-
I won't say. You'll have to ford that river solo.
-
Until otherwise informed, I'm running under the assumption that the New Republic still exists and the Resistance is a sponsored counter-insurgency movement.
-
Admiral is often the highest rank in the Navy. Even when it isn't, it's generally acceptable to call all forms of admiral (I.E. rear, vice, fleet) simply 'Admiral'.Perhaps he's on the New Republic's equivalent of the Joint Chiefs.

Poe X wing mods: no bands/retractable landing gear/full split wings

I was actually expecting that you wouldn't have anything, so this is quite a boon, thanks! -
Poe X wing mods: no bands/retractable landing gear/full split wings
Pcm979 replied to Dameronian's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I know it's been a while, but if you've still got that original prototype of the wing mechanism that you mocked up, I'd love to see a breakdown of it. I'm not skilled enough to figure out how you did it- my experience with mods is limited to replacing parts for availability and colour changes. -

If you want to be sure, I think the best bet is to experiment with an LDD model of the kit. There's one here. -
Yavin was a gas giant 198,500 km in diameter, so yes, it was a bit beyond the Death Star's mandate, I.E. to destroy Earth-sized rocky planets. And once the Death Star 1 had wasted a shot doing that, it would have been a day's wait to recharge for another shot at Yavin 4.
