  1. Okay, I still think the undisclosed character of the staff part is a little unfortunate, but let's not go there again. I have a few questions: Will public voting be open, just like with previous contests? Will the overall (not individual) staff voting be made public afterwards? Will staff members vote without nowing the outcome of the public voting part?
  2. Okay, but in the 'fantasy' category you score very high. It's the complete picture, cartoonish looks, fantasy features and the execution level that make this a fine model. And don't get me wrong, I only appreciate people (established designers) like you entering the contest. It gives even more color to the already high diversity. That was my interpretation too, but I have come to believe that the charm of this contest is that there is so much room for interpretation.
  3. Then what was the idea of the contest? This is what I was thinking too. I saw the video on YouTube before it was posted here and my first thought was: Charbel is entering, we can all go home now .
  4. I'm affraid you're right. Just like I would never be able to build something and only post about it after everything is finished.
  5. And clicking dark grey or red gear will bring you to the first unread post.
  6. I'll be honest with you guys. Of course I didn't build 7 more copies . I just wanted to do more with the colony idea .
  7. No, I thought you wanted to buy one . They have cost me about euro 70,- a piece I think.
  8. And the result is awesome!! Hats off for the determination you've shown in this project! One thing: For my taste your images have a little too much depth. They're taken from too nearby. I would take a little more distance and zoom in or crop the images later.
  9. Aha. But you can make a video, or a few snippets, right? You can concatenate them here. And you can convert images to video snippets here. I thought a video was mandatory. And there are online video editors. I used a trial account with Magisto (which I need to cancel within one week to avoid costs ).
  10. The white colors look better . Isn't this to be illustrated by a video?
  11. Yea, I always wanted to see an engine as center console, cool!!!
  12. Euro 150,- They won't fit in the front, but they might fit in the back when you leave out the 2l beams attached to the spoiler panels. Great idea! However, I have no more money to buy more ants .
  13. Thanks @Leonard Goldstein and @LvdH! Not that much. I built them in parallel, which speeded up the process significantly.
  14. Yesterday the last parts arrived for my own 8-ant colony. Had to include them in the video !
  15. Sorry to hear you broke your wrist Bart. But this a nice way to make life a little more easy . Hope the wrist heals soon!
  16. Which is perfectly understandable. Goog luck with the contest!
  17. I use Magisto. It's very easy to use and gives very nice results. I only discovered the site / tool the other day. It offers a full-featured trial period during which you can cancel your account without any costs. I plan to cancel before the trial period ends. One thing I have learned when it comes to making videos is that it is not necessary to capture everything in one uninterrupted video. You can also compile a nice video from many loose ends. Here you can find the cropped images I used (scraped from this topic): https://bricksafe.com/pages/Didumos/the-making-of-the-unrollable Good luck!
  18. I just added the ant colony to my entry. It is a bit undercrowded stillt. Thank you very much @Boulderer, @LvdH and @DutchChris! If you have a copy to add, please share an image and I'll add it to the collage.
  19. Well, it is a dualshot, so why no double post . I even think it would be wacky if you would enter the contest twice with this model .
  20. @Erik Leppen, welI, I did not intend to decide for the topic starter with my response. I just shared what came to my mind. The topic starter indicated some doubt by listing 'change my mind' as one of his options.
  21. As a fan of this build I made a short 'The Making of'-video to give you some video inspiration. I uploaded as 'unlisted' because I don't want to get credits for your work. I hope you don't mind (if you do, I'll remove it).
  22. Store them somewhere dark and cold. Who knows someday you'll have kids and trust me, it will be big fun to build together with them. Even when most parts have become obsolete. I'm happy I still have my Technic collection from the 80's. It got my kids started with Technic and that, in tun, got me out of my dark age.
  23. Truely amazing! I'm impressed how your digital ideas work out in real life. You have my vote too!
  24. This will be my final video (turn on the volume!):
