I clearly like it. I have to admit, though, that I do not understand how the last scene refers to the third law.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Brickadeer replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I asked that myself. I explained it by the fact that Palpatine became the leader of the Galactic Empire before the execution of Order 66. But I agree that this is a week point, as well as the phrase you mentioned. I believe that by 2005, Lucas had no clear concept of Order 66 and how it precisely relates to the clones. TCW, however, has made it nessecary to adress these issues: why did Cody execute Order 66? Was it a mistake that the tank didn't directly hit Obi Wan or was it an intended miss? -
Thanks! I have to admit that it looks pretty good, but the only reason I'm considering to get a chrome TC-14 is it's possible increase in value.

You are beginning to approach my position Meaning is not exactly open to interpretation, since "interpretation" is a bit artificial here. Absent an explicit definition, people will give the term meaning by different sources. That's simply pretty much how the brain functions; we can't prevent it from giving meaning to objects, and these attributional processes usually operate below the sphere of our awareness. Usually, we are only becoming aware of the results of these processes if the attributes might be wrong: until recently, it was totally irrelevant what anyone understood of "UCS". But confronted with the possibility that "UCS" may be given a different meaning by Lego, people immediately realize that that's not what they understand by "UCS". As for your example of laws, the point is not so much that a law is open to different interpretations. Rather, the problem is that a reader of the text of a law cannot conclude from the meaning of the words to the intentions of its framers.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here

Hi, it occurs to me that SW helmets are made of two different materials. At least, this occured to me with the old (set 7655) phase II trooper, the first (set 7913) ARF Trooper and the current (set 9490) Sandtrooper. One material seems more cheap, less sturdy, the other material seems to be of a higher quality, it looks more solid (I describe my impressions from watching them, they might be wrong, though). Does anyone know what I mean and have further information on that issue? -
Talk to the Star Wars Moderators and Regulators
Brickadeer replied to KimT's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yes, but he should be well aware of the fact that the ability to clean threads is insignificant next to the power of the Force. I agree that there is no real chaos yet, although some threads from time to time seem to be pretty close it. But, as I'd put it, I clearly feel the absence of moderators. I felt more comfortable when I had the feeling that KimT was around. -

I partially agree on that. One of the things I liked about "Massacre" is that Grievous didn't cough one single time. At least in this single episode, he appeared to be fearsome, effient, and treacherous. I think that all in all, he doesn't perform so bad. He caught a Jedi and killed another. The worst one can say about him is that he is able to keep a couple of Jedi busy. I think that one has to keep in mind that he can only rely on battle droids, a limitation that he already complaint about. And considering the fact that he has no Jedi powers, he performs rather well in lightsabre duells against Jedi. I prefer the not-so-often-coughing version, though. -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

I highly doubt that you possess the knowledge necessary to decide what promotional figure we'll see To me, C-3PO (iconic droid) seems more likely than a TC-14 (not so iconic droid). At least, the story in the blog turned out to be no April's Fool. -

I don't believe so as well. If I remember correctly, Oky wrote about the "Book of Sith" that Talzin wrote a passage that reveals that she has at least knowledge of Mortis. The Mortis arc directly followed the Nightsisters arc; Mortis and the fate of Skywalker were revealed right after the revelation of the fact that Darth Maul is alive. Of course this might just be a curious incident; on the other hand, there is the potential that the events are related. Well, time will tell -

This was my recent guess and (what a coincidence!), my personal whish for this year's promotional figure So I would not be surprised to see C-3PO, and I really, really hope it turns out to be true On the other hand, the article has a lot potential for being an April's fool. I'll sit and wait how things will turn out -

Thanks for the vid. I don't like these guys since I don't have the impression that they are serious about what they do, but that's a different point. I find it a bit odd that Oola's face is not fully covered by the head piece: You can still see a part of her mouth. -

I think the chances are pretty good. Mother Talzin's plans were still not revealed. Why did she sent Savage on his quest to find Maul, even though he failed Ventress? Why didn't she tell Ventress? And is there a chance that all this is somehow related to Mortis? -

Filoni said that Maul will realize his new possibilies, and that revenge would become less important. Consequently, Maul may wish to exploit the knowledge of the identity of his former master, although I cannot see yet in what way precisely. Anyway, I think there a couple of interesting constellations: Sidious, Dooku, and the Jedi Council all hold motives to get rid of Maul, while each of these actors has an equal interest to exploit Maul's knowledge and abilities. I think it is this constellation that will constitute the playground for Maul to show how cunning he is. -
A discussion of the "original meaning of UCS" doesn't lead to anything, it cannot contribute to the question posed by the OT, that's a fact you constantly deny. My comparison covers the relevant points pretty well, and if you fail to see that, you lack the will or the ability to distinguish between what's relevant and what's not, and that's precisely what I wrote already. Of course you can state the different. But in order to prove me wrong you have to show in what way a discussion of "the original meaning of UCS" contributes to the question. I cannot see that it does nor that it can, and that's what I have illustrated in my last post.

Please stay on topic. If I see a new answer I expect it to be related to the issue at hand. 75% of the replies that were made, however, are simply spam that do not contribute to anything.

If you see a car on the street that was produced in Japan you'll hardly conclude that it cannot be there or should not there because it once was produced elsewhere. Of course you can trace its way all back to Japan. But this will only explain how it got where it is now (and since you already know where it is now, that'd be quite an arbitrary enterprise). It cannot change the fact that now, it is on the street, right before your eyes, and no longer in Japan. The point is that whatever meaning UCS may have ever had, is totally irrelevant to the meaning it has now, and it is equally irrelevant to the choices Lego will make. The only relevance a discussion of "the original meaning" can have is to discuss the current meaning with regards to the original meaning. The only thing that such a discussion can show is that both meanings are different, and the only conclusion that can be drawn upon this observation is that the original meaning has changed, pretty much as the location of the car has changed. Whatever anyone thinks of these changes is pretty much irrelevant, just as the current location of the car is a fact that exists independently of opinions about its current location anyone may hold. I have expressed this already a week ago. What you basically do is to repeat your point of view, but you don't come up with any arguments. What you've proven so far is that you are not able or not willing to understand what's relevant and what's not, and that's why the repetition of your point of view is, well, pointless.

You should realize that costs (of production) are only partially reflected by the price. They are more important to decide the question whether or not the product should be produced at all. Basically, the producer has to form expectations about the maximum price that buyers are prepared to pay. The higher price only reflects Lego's expectations that buyers are prepared to pay a higher price for the shuttle than for the gunship. -

I mean the general rule that there can only be two Siths at one time. It feels so unnatural. Plus, it is practically offset by the fact that there are apprentices of the Siths. I know that the rule was meant to preserve the Sith and prevent extinction. But it appears to me that when a student killed the master and is the only Sith left, that comes pretty close to extinction.
-
Thanks. I did. I have to admit that I don't like "The Rule of Two", the fact that he tried to manipulate the medichlorians instead of the force, and, well, pretty much everything that was described in the article. I liked Plagueis much better when he just was a name mentioned in RoTS. Sometimes, when I'm in a bad mood, the authors of the EU remind me of an army of anti-Midas (whatever the plural may be), turning everything they touch into something I'd not exactly call "gold". (No offense meant.)

That's a pretty good observation And I have to agree

My experience is that Lego "product specialists" are not very specialized in the product they support. Brickipedia says the following about UCS: So I think that both source refer to a common source, or that the product specialist made his copy & paste move.
