  1. Steady on, we haven't seen the minifigures yet!
  2. The closest is probably the Hungarian Horntail set.
  3. I don't know if I've imagined this, but I always envisaged the library being in the Long Gallery, near the greenhouses.
  4. In that case, what you want to do is upload them to Imgur (if you create a free account, you can upload them as 'unlisted' pictures, so they'll only show up by following the link/embedding the link). That will give you a URL that you can link. The other option is going to be subject to the 100kb attachment limit on Eurobricks.
  5. Never say never. (Well, you can say 'never' when Lego stop producing Harry Potter sets.)
  6. I've watched all the films multiple times, if that counts, though Marvel is not my favourite media. Anyway, of the four sets you went through I already said I love two of them and I've already explained my issue with another. As for the Captain America set, if it was WWII based that would definitely change my view - but I find it hard to get excited about 4+ sets in general. But anyway, nobody who voiced their dislike for the new Harry Potter sets is accused of not being a Harry Potter fan. Same for Star Wars. Is it really unfathomable that somebody could like the media franchise but not absolutely adore every single set announced for the Lego theme?
  7. Are you selecting "insert existing attachment" or "insert image from URL"? You want to be doing the second one, as that allows you to embed any image online.
  8. Humans and elves were just an example I used off the top of my head. You can replace elves with any other fantasy race and my core point remains the same. Having said that, I don't necessarily think that Lego have to do something just because other fiction does it. Why can't they have elves who aren't allied with humans? Skyrim did it.
  9. Personally, I didn't enjoy either the climactic battle or the villain in Iron Man (as for Jeff Bridges, I had to look him up). Mind you, I found the Marvel films as a whole to be lacklustre until about halfway through, so I'm probably not the main target for these sets!
  10. Aye, I'm glad the sets are going down well as a whole, because that means people are getting what they want! Anyway, when the actual pictures come out my opinion might change - who knows?
  11. Eurobricks tells me I've already seen this thread - but that can't be right. No way I'd see this and not comment - I love everything about it. The fountains made of giant blue flames! The cypress trees in great abundance! The plenty of BURPs and LURPs. What's not to love? Brilliant job. What does the Mountain Oracle say is coming next from you?
  12. I didn't realise that you weren't allowed to comment on sets unless you were head-over-heels in love with all of them. I'm not coming here to spread "negative vibes" - I'm here to express my opinion on the sets that have been recently announced, just like everyone else is.
  13. I'm fairly sure over time stock will be more readily available. At the moment it's pretty much the same as the flour and eggs situation in shops last spring - people are buying in bulk, so there's never any in stock, and consequently when people do see them in stock they buy loads (I'm guilty of it myself) because they don't know when they'll be in stock next, so if everyone's buying loads then the stock runs out quickly. As people get the torsos they want and stop buying so many, it won't go out of stock as quickly, and eventually it'll be lasting whole days or even weeks at a time. Either that or it gets discontinued before you get a chance to have any!
  14. Are they? Aside from the Endgame battle and the one with Chris Pratt, they seem like a lacklustre selection. A 4+ set, a set based on the really boring fight between giant robots from the first film? What's the attraction with those sets?
  15. At the same time, this isn't the "You have to pick a Worldbuilder theme which will be 2022's Castle theme", so the absence of better options doesn't mean that a poor choice is required. We're all spitballing here - but I'd argue that too many different races is just going to confuse kids. Maybe I'm boring, and humans alone isn't interesting enough for most children. Okay, I can get behind that idea. Add elves maybe, dwarves, trolls. If you have a dozen different fantasy species, kids are going to get overwhelmed. How many sentient races are there in the Lord of the Rings, for example? And how many of them are just humans with pointy ears, or short humans with hairy faces, or short humans with hairy feet? A theme that wanted to do well would need to pick maybe two or three races to focus on. And perhaps in time, if it got popular, more variety could be introduced. There's also the practicality of Lego producing sets. Say you have three races - humans, elves and pixies. In Year One, we can have sets focused on humans and elves, including faction bases, with maybe a pixie here and there in the sets. In Year Two, maybe, the pixie can become a big player and get its own base. On the other hand if you have twelve races, they're not all going to get a set to themselves for years - and if they did, it would be at the expense of fleshing out the factions, which would defeat the purpose of having the theme be story based at all.
  16. I don't want to moan, but it's not easy to tell which image you've embedded is which. I can differentiate the dragons because I had some dragon sets from the Kingdoms range, but I haven't got a clue which is the supposedly terrible lion. For what it's worth, I don't think any of them look too bad - especially given that they're designed for kids first and foremost, and AFOLs second.
  17. And by the sounds of it the sets are just as disappointing.
  18. Would a Castle theme really need every fantasy species under the sun? I'd much prefer a human-on-human theme, vastly more interesting imo.
  19. Surely Lola is far and away more iconic, if they want a female Looney Tune?
  20. Artemis would be cool - but her traditional attire would be out of place in a medieval setting. Not that I'd be averse to an Ancient Greek theme. There are plenty of powerful medieval women, though - Queen Matilda, Eleanor of Aquitaine, Isabella of France...
  21. You need to embed an image hosted externally, the upload function is only for profile pictures.
  22. Why do we have to pick and choose? More to the point, what's wrong with having a character who is powerful but also feminine? Besides, headdresses are an archetypal piece of Medievalry - havijg a version with a crown attached would be very good.
  23. That's true, but most of those sets are sets that happen to contain a vehicle - often a small cart. That's far more achievable than making half of the sets primarily vehicles.
  24. I stopped my last rewatch after OotP so I'll concede the Astronomy Tower to you, but I don't think the exterior of Gryffindor tower is noteworthy. It's the interior that's where all the magic happens.
  25. Then stick horse drawn carts and whatnot in the set. It's easy to find a vehicle to stick in a larger set as an extra, and it's not necessary to have sets solely based on vehicles.
