  1. I set myself the limit that if I posted 3 times in my old tread with no replies I would take a break from posting the Avatar stuff on Eurobricks. Due to external reason I broke that rule and took a break. Well, a little over a month has passes, so I’ll try with a new thread. So here are some of my newest Avatar builds. I have in general been experimenting a bit with some light bricks, as you may have seen in the licensed theme photography thread, and here is one my latest experiments: Aang has unfortunately been captured by Admiral Zhao’s Yu Yan archers and has been chained up at the Pohuai stronghold. A mysterious figure enters his cell. Who is this mysterious Blue Spirit? Friend or foe? I’m not completely happy with this one; the lights I build into the thing were not as strong as had hoped so I had to use another light brick for the second shot. Also the camera had a hard time focusing on the blue spirit. The picture turned out ok after all. Also a picture of the setup from “The Blue Spirit” without the electrics in broad daylight for good measure. I have also made a few other things. Toph has been tricked into an ambush with a fake letter from her mother. The ambush was set up by master Yu and Xin Fu, who have been chasing Toph ever since she ran away from home. There is quite a way from Ba Sing Se to Gaoling. As Toph is trapped inside the metal box she realizes something… …Metal is bendable! Sokka and Zuko set out to find Hakoda in the Boiling Rock, one of the most secure prisons in the Firenation. Unfortunately they haven’t found him yet, but they have found Suki. While Sokka is very happy to see her again he is greeted by Suki with a punch to the gut because he is disguised as a prison guard. Zuko had to blow his cover to protect Sokka and has been imprisoned. Unfortunately for Zuko the warden of the Boiling Rock happens to be Mai’s uncle. Mai didn’t take Zuko’s breakup by letter method too well. The Boiling Rock has an escape proof record, and Chit Sang was not lucky enough to change that. The warden probably thinks that a little extra blood to Chit Sang’s brain will help him remember who his accomplices are. Two Guards, the warden and Chit Sang. The third part of The Promise, a comic that follows up from the first cartoon, has just been released, so why not make a figure of one of the new characters from the comic, Kori Morishita. Also Sneers, because there aren’t that many opportunities to use him. I have also decided to improve my probending arena a bit. Just as Oky suggested I have used flextubing for the ropes. During the tiebreaker Korra delivers a powerful water uppercut to Tahno that sends his helmet flying to the cheap rows. The center of the arena can now be raised. Despite the Fire Ferrets best efforts the Wolfbats won the game through cheating. The center can also be lowered. This can’t end well. Amon had planned this all along. As usual I’m open for suggestions about what to build, and I’m open for constructive criticism. While I did take a break from posting all my build for a while I didn’t actually stop building, so I have about a dozen things up my sleeve.
  2. Very, very nice. Neat how you also made a metro station underground. Storkespringvandet is easy to recognize. I know it has been a while since I last was I Copenhagen, but isn’t the LEGO store actually a bit further down the street from the fountain? I’m just joking, great MOC
  3. I’m back, but only with a few new figures. Here we have one of them: General Hassan, leader of the eastern hemisphere forces of the Brotherhood of Nod. Seems to me that he looks rather displeased, and here is why: Anton Slavik: Brotherhood! We are whole again! The sickness has been cut out! Slavik: In the name of Kane! Troops: Kane lives in death! Kane lives! Well, now that the scene is through, I can actually elaborate a little on this photo shoot and the figures. General Hassan is actually in the wrong clothes for this scene, where he is actually just wearing a rather boring grey shirt. I gave him his clothes as seen earlier in the game, but with blue details instead of red ones, for two reasons. 1: His troops are coloured blue in game, and 2: the torso would be almost identical to Slaviks otherwise. http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Hassan The other figure is Anton Slavik, also a general of Nod and the leader of the Black Hand. He is also in the wrong clothes, as he was just wearing a black shirt, with a single tiny Nod logo. So I went with his slightly fancier uniform from the Firestorm expansion. http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Anton_Slavik The photo shoot is a recreation of one the more notable scenes from Tiberian sun (If you hadn’t guessed that already you haven’t played the game). I must apologize for my weak skills with MS paint. One thing to not, is that the table at which Slavik stands is actually outfitted with a sticker of a Nod logo, even if it can’t be seen in the pictures.
  4. Well, I’m back, but only with one thing this time. I have up until now built something from almost every of the Tiberium games, but I feel that I have neglected one a little, as I have only built two measly (but important) figures for the first game, Command & Conquer Tiberian dawn. That has however changed now: Witness the Temple of Nod. The heart of the Brotherhood, and the ultimate weapon in their arsenal in Tiberian dawn: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Temple_of_Nod_(Tiberian_Dawn) http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Temple_of_Nod_(Renegade) This was certainly an interesting build. The pseudo-gothic architecture of the temple does not make for a very stable building unless special care is taken (just like real gothic architecture!). I took care that every window in the building actually is fitted with red see-through bricks, which makes for some special interior lighting. And it’s of course fitted with a nuclear weapon. Nuclear missile launched! Additional pictures: http://imageshack.us/a/img856/9161/img1495wx.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img840/1274/img1496dj.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img823/2715/img1499kt.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img841/8476/img1506s.jpg I have no idea what I’ll build next, but I’ll probably come up with something.
  5. If all super heroes had it that easy with the paparazzi… I like the effect in this picture I made:
  6. I have been at bit busy lately, so production has been slow, but I have managed to throw a few things together. First of these: It’s the GDI hover MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System) from Tiberian Sun: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Hover_Multiple_Launch_Rocket_System There is barely room for a driver, and it’s built solid as a brick. Additional pictures: http://imageshack.us/a/img341/4897/img1454e.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img811/7149/img1455xq.jpg The other unit I built: Here we have the GDI Titan from Tiberian Sun: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Titan_Mk._I I learned two things from this build. One, there is a reason you don’t build tanks with legs. Two, the titan is actually quite ugly. Additional pictures: http://imageshack.us/a/img62/6573/img1456th.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img152/2880/img1460n.jpg That’s it for now, but more things are to come.
  7. It’s a lid for a Fabuland garbage bin. http://peeron.com/inv/parts/x680
  8. I also made two more light experiments, after someone gave me a request for some scenes from ”The Cave of Two Lovers”. Love is brightest in the dark
  9. I hope it is OK that I post a couple of shots here from by Avatar works where I tried experimenting at bit with angles and light sources, even if it is all custom figures. This picture is based on the episode “Lake Laogai”. The camera takes a look over Long Feng’s shoulder, as he admires his handiwork that caused Jet’s demise. This picture is based on the episode “The Storm”. The crew is sitting below deck and Iroh is telling Zuko’s story.
  10. Those are rather nice. Le Chuck is great; he even has the voodoo doll from the second game. I occasionally tried using a troll head for him. I had never thought that Jack Sparrow’s torso would such a great coat if you just added dark blue arms. Guybrush could use some better hair though; it is usually a quite fluffy pompadour thing, but then again I don’t know what parts you have at hand. Nice bottle of grog. Elaine’s pose reminds me of the start of the third game. Elaine’s is always problematic, long and with a bandanna on top, and usually red. Might use the coat idea myself to make some generic pirates for the undermanned Black Pearl eventually.
  11. Yes you may be right that this should rather go to the sci-fi forum. I couldn’t make up my mind on where to post it. It’s from a video game, so that would make it a licensed theme; expect that it isn’t officially licensed. It could go in sci-fi as all of the games have sci-fi elements, but the first game has realistic military equipment like Humvees, Bradlees and Abrams. It could go in other theme because that is where military vehicles usually go, but my brother hasn’t actually built any of the realistic vehicles yet. Maybe I should ask for a move. We are thinking about the Mammoth tank as it is pretty much the definitive signature of CnC (be it named Mammoth, Apocalypse, Overlord or even Devastator, I think it was called that in Dune 2000),but at the moment I don’t think we have the right threads for it. That is one really neat CnC mod you have made there Raminator, pretty impressive.
  12. I was actually considering retiring this thread, but Legend of Korra has just had its Danish premier, so I thought it would be appropriate to celebrate it a little with some MOC’s. A police car for Republic City’s metalbending police corps. It seems that the police have caught a couple of Equalists, good thing that they can just stuff them into the back of the van. Is it just me, or do these two chi blockers look kind of familiar? I have also made a few figures: Some new or improved figures from Legend of Korra. I was never quite happy with how Pema’s old face turned out, and since she isn’t pregnant anymore, I thought it would be a good idea to make some improvements. General Iroh, Tarklok and Amon with a new mask. Lego figures rarely have noses, but Amon looks kind of odd to me without one. New airbender family photo. And something for the Equalists: The Equalist biplane torpedo bomber. A look at it from the back. I have actually used a few bits for this one that I have had lying around for quite some time, such as the wings and exhaust pipes. A look at the torpedoes under the wings. A look at Hiroshi Sato in pilot getup and Tarrlok’s hair.
  13. I hadn’t really planned to make any dioramas, but maybe I’ll throw together some bombed out buildings at some point. Well, time for more infantry: http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/1469/img1352e.jpg A few more Nod troops from Renegade. Here we have the Nod rocket soldier, and the Black Hand stealth trooper. http://www.renegadecommunity.com/stealth_soldier.php http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Rocket_soldier_(Renegade) Now we turn to the Global Defense Initiative: http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/5459/img1358g.jpg Here we have some assorted GDI infantry from Tiberian Sun. From left to right we have the medic, Jump jet infantry, a disc thrower, and two light infantry. All of them are wearing GDI combat uniforms: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/GDI_combat_uniform_(Tiberian_Sun) More GDI infantry: http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/7619/img1366st.jpg Here we have some GDI riflemen and missile soldiers from Tiberium Wars. All of them are wear composite armor: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Rifleman_squad http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Missile_squad Now, I’ve got a present for ya! http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/5071/img1362h.jpg Commandos, both GDI and Nod, from Tiberium Wars: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Commando_(GDI) http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Commando_(Nod) Now for some heavier infantry: The GDI wolverine, from Tiberian Sun: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Wolverine_(original) It is a bit of a mixture between ingame and cutscene look, as it oddly enough has normal knees ingame, but inverted knees in cutscenes. It might be a bit big, but there is a reason for that, as it is actually capable of having a driver inside it. Additional pictures: http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/6981/img1369v.jpg http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/4177/img1370cw.jpg Now for something absolutely essential to any base: The tiberium harvester, from Tiberian Sun: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Harvester_(Tiberian_Sun) It might not be the most glamorous vehicle, but you can’t build CnC without building a harvester at some point, after all, tiberium is the cause of, and solution to all life’s problems in CnC. Also it has it’s uses: It harvests tiberium, naturally, but: It is also very capable of ending an ill-conceived infantry attack. Additional pictures: http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/2548/img1374jl.jpg http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/1760/img1377ky.jpg And the Blossom tree in the tiberium field: http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/8716/img1378oh.jpg
  14. It looks very slick and futuristic.
  15. I’m not quite sure what forum would suit this best, but since military MOC’s usually end up here I’ll try to post it here. My brother is also a big LEGO enthusiast, but he doesn’t want a profile of his own, so I’ll let him borrow mine for this one. I am a fan of the Command & Conquer in its various incarnations. I got into the series late, as the first time I really got into the series was with the First Decade pack (and CnC 3), but even with their age it was apparent to me that these were quality games. Since I’m also a fan of LEGO, it seemed like a good idea to build something from the games, and I picked the Tiberium series for various reasons. One of the classics of the Brotherhood of Nod’s arsenal is the Recon bike/Attack bike/Attack cycle, so it was obvious that had to be built: I chose the version from Tiberium Wars, as that was what I had the best parts for: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Attack_bike They are pretty simple, and the driver is just made from standard parts. Additional pictures: http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/6991/img1290ed.jpg http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/38/img1291oc.jpg/ Another classic Nod vehicle is the buggy: This version is from CnC Renegade (kind of and oddball in the series): http://www.renegadecommunity.com/buggy.php I mostly chose this version because I thought it looked neat. There is room for a driver in it, barely. Additional pictures: http://img835.imageshack.us/img835/467/img1281ny.jpg http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/5791/img1282t.jpg http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/7722/img1283yv.jpg My next creation is the stealth tank: Long considered the epitome of Nod technology, this version is from Tiberian Sun: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Stealth_tank_(Tiberian_Sun) This was easier to build than any other version of the tank as it has wheels, not threads. The “arms” are movable normally, but kinda floppy, so it has some problems with collapsing, unless one sticks a couple of plates under them. Additional pictures: http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/5381/img1286qej.jpg http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/763/img1287wc.jpg The next vehicle is not a classic however: The Scorpion tank from Tiberium Wars: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Scorpion_tank_(Tiberium_Wars) It has an interesting shape to say the least, which also made it an interesting build. I also outfitted it with one of the available upgrades, the laser capacitator: http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/9782/img1297p.jpg But I haven’t built the dozer blade yet. Additional pictures: http://img525.imageshack.us/img525/9397/img1293tc.jpg http://img7.imageshack.us/img7/5720/img1292uv.jpg Next up is lots of infantry: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/6643/img1307es.jpg The standard infantry from Tiberian Sun and their Rocket trooper counterparts, all wearing Nod combat armor: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_armor They are rather useful, as the also show up in Kane’s Wrath. More infantry: http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/9760/img1301qf.jpg These hoodlums are from Tiberium Wars, and serves as standard infantry and rocket troopers respectively: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Militants http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Militant_rocket_squad Next is the infantry from Renegade: http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/6190/img1303.jpg Two Nod soldiers, an officer and a flamethrower trooper. Additionally from Renegade: http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/6455/img1310nq.jpg Here we have a Black Hand heavy trooper, two Black Hand snipers, General Gideon Raveshaw (or Peewee as Havoc calls him) and Carlos Mendoza: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Gideon_Raveshaw http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Mendoza Now that we are talking about Renegade: http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/705/img1314s.jpg Here we have Nick “Havoc” Parker, commando and the main character of CnC Renegade: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Nick_Seymour_Parker Now we enter the Nod high command: This is Seth, From god, to Kane, to Seth. Your very first commanding officer from Tiberian Dawn: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Seth Sadly for Seth, power shifts quickly in the Brotherhood. I don’t think I need to introduce him, but this is Kane, supreme leader of Nod, and the Messiah. http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Kane And now for one final unit of the two armed and bipedal variety: The Nod Avatar Warmech: http://cnc.wikia.com/wiki/Avatar_(Tiberium_Wars) It has quite the number of articulated joints, which makes it pretty movable, but a little difficult to stand up. Additional pictures: http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/3936/img1320yv.jpg http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/156/img1323sl.jpg http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/7336/img1324l.jpg Any suggestions for improvement are appreciated.
  16. That is one really well-made Transformer. It’s also pretty neat that due to the size being that of an actual City truck it could actually work as a robot in disguise.
  17. While on the subject of Avatar beasts and royal pets I have built myself a couple of dragons. Fang, avatar Roku’s animal guide. And Firelord Sozin’s personal dragon mount. While it may not be completely accurate, I thought it would also be a good idea to use the red and blue dragon for a couple of other pictures. Zuko’s little fever nightmare from “The Earth King”. And the scene with Ran and Shaw from “The Firebending Masters”.
  18. Considering I have built Kuei, I should probably also build his fuzzbuddy Bosco. I bearly had the right brown pieces for it, but I think I succeeded in pulling it off anyways. Bosco takes a bit of inspiration from the LEGO creator 30026 Panda. The neck is a little weird looking when seen directly from its side, but it does have its purpose. With a few tweaks Bosco is able to sit down too. The “neck hook” does not attach fully to the clip, but it keeps it in place. Speaking of royal pets, here we have King Bumi’s gorilla-goat Flopsie. Despite his fierce looks Flopsie is actually quite friendly. I also decided to make some otter-penguins. I build in a joint so it wouldn’t grind its face against the ground while it was sliding on tis belly. Wanna go penguin sledding with me?
  19. Time to address a few requests: I was asked to make something from the latest comic con, but as I don’t like going too much into spoiler material that lacks a larger context I decided to go for a joke from an older comic con: It also helps to show of the new faces I made for the 3 of them. I was also asked to make try and make something with the battle between the royal guards and Team Avatar as they were trying to enter the Earth King’s palace. AS I have in general neglected Earthkingdom soldiers a bit I’ll start with some ordinary ones first. Four regular Earthkingdom soldiers. They can be used for many different things… …Such as Gow’s fight with Zuko… …Or when a group of soldiers captured Iroh. Back to the royal guards… And how they couldn’t stop Team Avatar from seeing the Earth King. Speaking of the Earth King. The 52nd Earth King, Kuei. The black fez was the best I could come up with for his hat, even if it kind of the wrong shape.
  20. I have tried to improve the runny colors on Ty Lee’s torso, and I think you are right about the hula dancer face, but since there is more than one Joo Dee both could actually be used. It is nice to see that what I build is appreciated. But let’s bring the new stuff into motion: The Tank-train, Azula’s personal land transport. I’m happy that I had enough chain links to pull this off. The harpoons on the side move up and down, and the plow on the front is also able to move up and down a bit. The inside of the locomotive. Li and Lo are driving it, as it was jokingly suggested in the art book. A better look at Lo and Li. It was never shown what was inside the first cart, but I made it a passenger cart for the 3 deadly ladies. The second cart was where they kept the mongoose dragons. Admittedly I can’t cram 3 of them in there, but I was able to get one in. I actually had enough green pieces to make a mongoose dragon for each of the girls. A little scene from “Appa’s Lost Day”. The confrontation between “Ozai’s Angels” and the avatar’s “Fanclub”.
  21. I have found some OK solutions to replacing missing LEGO strings of various thicknesses, although it may not be the cheapest solution possible. For thin strings I just use extra strong sowing thread, but for ropes I found some jewelry cord in a hobby shop that works pretty well. It might be a little expensive, but you still get several meters of it at a time. It is available in various thicknesses, colors and even materials such as leather or chain if you would like that. The stuff I use to replace missing pirate rope is very similar to the official stuff; it’s a little softer and has a slightly different surface texture.
  22. It has been a little while again, hasn’t it? I had a bit of luck in finding some parts that I have needed, and in addition to that I have built a few other things that I have wanted to do. I was lucky enough to find some pink figure parts, so here we finally have Ty Lee, Azula and Mai together in their regular outfits rather than beach wear. I have also tried to improve Mai’s face a bit. I was also lucky enough to get myself a gray ponytail hairpiece, I think I may have all types of gray LEGO hair that I know of now. I decided to make Hama as I really liked the episode “The Puppetmaster”. Hama is a very specialized waterbender, she has trained herself to find any “alternative” water sources when possible. She demonstrates this skill by among other things sucking the water out of a field of flowers. A better look at Ty Lee, Mai and Hama. Mai’s eye color is what my yellow pen ends up looking like if I smudge it though other colors for too long without replacing it. A canyon crawler from “The Great Divide”, partially because the spider and crocodile hybrid looks pretty neat, and to prove that even the most clichéd of episodes might have something interesting to build. Long Feng and his minions: Joo Dee and two Dai Lee agents. I have always felt that the CMF cheerleader’s smile looked a little forced. And last but not least, the mysterious Blue Spirit. It took quite a few tries to get the mask right, and I’m pretty happy with how the result turned out.
  23. Thanks for the tips. I tried the spear thing and it at least made the helmet move about more, which helped me eventually shake the helmet out of the garbage can.
  24. Does anyone have any advice on how to get a stuck crash helmet out of a trash can? Unfortunately it’s the round part that is facing upwards, so there isn’t any good surface to get a grip on.
  25. I recieved a lot of books as birthday presents this year, the new LEGO idea book, the Allspark Almanac, The Avatar art book, Avatar The Lost Adventures and the two parts of The Promise that have been released so far. This along with my brother having reached the Library part in Halo gave me an idea. Wan Shi Tong, he who knows ten thousand things, one of the various spirit creatures seen in Avatar The Last Airbender. Wan Shi Tong is the creator and keeper of an ancient library, and regards himself as all-knowing. Much like a real owl he can spin his head all the way around, the LEGO version probably even more so. Wan Shi Tong does not like it when his library is misused by humans for the purpose of war. While his peaceful form is that of an owl, nature lies, he is more than meets the eye. There is not trickery involved here; I actually made him able to more or less transform from an owl to his more dragonlike form. This is why I thought his build would be fun. Run, Sokka, run!
