  1. Yes, accuracy is kind of down the toilet. The iceberg should be much bigger and rounder, but as a vig I confined it to an 8x8 plate, which results in more of an ice cube. The ice would look better in light transparent blue, but building it out of windshields was not the most appealing idea, so I chose regular blue instead. Katara’s and Sokka’s clothes are kind of wrong; they should be wearing their heavy coats. There is no Appa in the iceberg either. And the white stuff on the blue ice is kind of wrong too. It’s supposed to represent the swirled pattern on the surface of the ice ball, but I accidentally mirrored it. As for the Ember Island players, maybe another time.
  2. A little vig of how it all began. The glow is added by having my cellphone lying behind it. I have been wanting to do another Avatar build, and I apparently had a good amount of transparent blue bricks lying around, so it turned out as an iceberg. The figures are again made with handmade stickers and additional paper bits for some added details.
  3. Nice skeleton army. Have you ever watched Army of Darkness? our army reminds me a bit of the movie, and especially of a line from it: “I want you to dig up every last worm filled son of a b*tch who ever died in battle!”
  4. Thanks. The picture is on a tan tile. Also Iroh's torso is not covered by a sticker, it's just a piece of paper held in place by some tiny snippets between the torso and legs.
  5. Yes, it’s a tire. I was speculating if it was possible to beef the sumo wrestlers hair up with some rubber bands to imitate Toph’s hair. Funnily enough the tire fits right over the topknot. Yes the bonfire and tea set is a bit smaller in the cartoon, but it would be rather complicated to make it smaller. Your suggestion has been acknowledged: Since I have bothered to make Iroh, why not get some mileage out of him.
  6. Thanks for the comments. As for the stickers, it’s a bit trial and error: Toph’s mouth is indeed a bit on the big side and a bit too happy for the situation actually. As for Iroh’s face, it’s better than it used to be. First I made the sticker too wide so his eyes were way too high on his head, so I cut a bit out of it lengthwise, which was an improvement. Anyone who wants to take a guess on how I made Toph’s hair?
  7. A little Avatar vig inspired by a scene from The Chase. I made the decals by hand.
  8. It's one of the collectable minifigures rods, the viking's axe handle to be precise. The Potter wand is about 4 studs long, the CMF rod is 3 studs long.
  9. I said that I would post pictures of my pirate setup, so here they are. 10. I have completed the game, and to me it looks like the crutch is mostly made up, but based on and old fashioned gas nozzle. http://peeron.com/inv/parts/194 Edit: I have just tried it, the gas nozzle is not long enough to reach the ground when it's held like a crutch. Here is a little thing I came up with.
  11. It has actually been a little while since I build these, but better late than never. I was asking for ideas for buildings but I didn’t get any. I was considering an international house of mojo, but I picked a governor’s residence instead for having somewhere to put Elizabeth Swann. My brother and I have actually built this one together. It was mostly my brother who built the house, while I furnished it. I have also built this little pirate cave for Blackbeard to use as a hideout once I eventually get him. http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/5417/img0418r.jpg The backside is not particularly interesting, but here is a picture anyway. My pirate town has now been completely filled with buildings, so I will probably update later with some picture of my mostly completed pirate setup later.
  12. The portapotee from 7905 Building crane has a rather interesting toilet design. Also 2824 City Advent Callendar has a good design for a shower. Sadly I don't have any pictures of them at the moment.
  13. OK, so I have completed the PC version 100% in just one week. So what are my thoughts? I haven't played any of these LEGO games since LEGO Star Wars 2, so it's rather interesting to see what has happened since then. The games it a bit glitchy at times. It has some occasional glitches that prevents you from finishing a level. In general I really like the game, and On stranger tides looks like it would be rather interesting.
  14. Time for another major update. I have bought the Pirates of the Caribbean video game hand have completed it 100% in just a week. 15. Thanks for the comments so far. As for the suggestions for improvements: I was kind of lucky that I actually had 10 red chairs left among my spare parts. Some colorful bottles help too. It’s no longer the sea of yellow it was. As for the Sea-urchin, we can’t really do much to change things on that one. My brother didn’t want to add more cannons because he didn’t want the ship to outgun our imperial flagship, and we don’t have any more cannon shutters. We have also more or less run out of extra masts and cloth sails. There are also a few new creations. My brother build this building. It’s based on the merchant building from Sid Meier’s Pirates! Gold edition. The Interieur. I on the other hand build another merchant ship. http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/4299/img0405hh.jpg I think it could be named the Red Robin after its colors and bird figurehead. http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6972/img0406jv.jpg Back end. Lots of windows in this cabin. http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/1080/img0407x.jpg Cabin interior. http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/2323/img0408g.jpg A little view into the cargo hold and a view of my somewhat alternative way of attaching the mast because I don’t have any more spare “foot pieces” for it. I do have a spare space in my town that I don’t know what to use for. I would like to put another building there, does anyone have some suggestions to what purpose the building could have?
  16. Ugh, I hate double posting and bumping, but this time I found something really interesting. I’ll thank Saint for bringing this website to my attention. It has quite a lot of international material. Unfortunately I can’t read all the languages, but I’ll see what I can get out of it. So let’s start with 3 different versions of The Golden Medallion (6255): Broadside (English), Gouverneur Breitseit (German), Grootzail (Dutch), Camilla (English) (German) (Dutch), Aunt Prudence (English), Tantchen Rebecca (German), Zus (Dutch), de Martinet (English), Leutnant de Martinez (German), Van Kwelling (Dutch), Foul (English), Käpt’n Baddog (German), Knook (Dutch), Culverin (English), Maat Dumbo (German), Kollosul (Dutch) Red Beard (English), Käpt’n Roger (German), Knoest (Dutch), Pappagei Polly (German), Will (English), Willy (German), Wil (Dutch), Rummy (English), Rumpott (German), Flashfork (English), Smuttie (German), Smulpaap (Dutch), Spinoza (English) (Dutch), Speedy (German), Bessie (English) (German),Betsie (Dutch), John & Brian Blackheart (English), John & Brian McBlack (German), Wout & Wiebe Wandaad (Dutch), The website also has quite a few catalogs with some interesting manes sprinkled throughout them, not listing repeats from 6255. 1989: 6235: Bo’sul Will (small European catalog) 1990: Capitaine Barbe-Rousse (full line Canadian catalog) Bootsman Wil (full line Netherlands) only a mug shot of a mustachioed pirate with a blue bandana. 1991: Polli der Papagai (full line Germany) 1992: Admiraal Blaaskaak (full line Neterlands) 6261 Ironhook’s Escape Raft, 6235 Bo’sun Will and Spinoza (small catalog Europe) Admiral Woodhouse (English text in Japanese catalog) 1996: Indigo Islanders, 6264 includes Ironhook, now with a pegleg (full line United Kingdom) 2009: Kapitein Blokbaard (Netherlands) There are also a few scans of other magazines and comics. Unfortunately I can’t really read them. I’m fluent in Danish, English and German, I can understand Norwegian and Swedish and I might be capable of reading some Dutch, but I can’t read French. I might have overlooked some names in the vast amounts of material, and it being in languages that I don’t understand doesn’t help. Are there any other members here on Eurobricks that could tell us a little more about these scans? There are many interesting things in the catalogs like alternative set names, ship names, voodoo and taverns. Also dies anybody know websites with more scans?
  17. Ok, I'm not all that surprised about that the posters grow larger with the sets. It just seemed gigantic at first, even if it's just about the size of the posters from the 90's. By the way, sorry about the poor grammar earlier, I should know better than that.
  18. Well, it will be part of a bigger scene, once I get the rest of it built. I have gotten some fresh batteries, so here are some more pictures. Bessie’s pirate bar. The interior. Notice the trinkets on the shelves. http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/545/img0389rw.jpg The interior of the rooms on the upper floor. This is a ship that my brother built. We rather appropriately named it the FNS Sea Urchin. http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/1209/img0393cf.jpg The figurehead is supposed to be a sea urchin of cause. http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/6056/img0396bv.jpg The backend, this ship has guns everywhere. http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/9088/img0399qy.jpg The lower deck of the ship. Lt. De Martinet looking very happy because he is in charge of the ship.
  19. So far I have bought: Isla de la Muerta The Cannibal Escape The Mill And The London Escape All the figure from Isla de la Muerta has no holes in their heads, the skulls from Cannibal Escape has no holes and Jack and Gibbs from London Escape has no holes in their heads, the rest of the figure has heads with holes. Another thing, why is the poster from London Escape twice the size of the other posters?
  20. Once again my focus has shifted back to pirates, and my brother and I have been building a few things for our little pirate setup. One of the things that I usually build for the pirates theme is a merchant ship, the pirates must have something to attack and plunder after all. A little merchant ship, most parts of the ship are based on or inspired by various official LEGO ships that I own. http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/8387/img0359d.jpg http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/311/img0360v.jpg The figurehead is supposed to be a polar-bear, I got the idea for a polar-bear because of the “icy” blue and white colors of the ship. http://img827.imageshack.us/img827/6991/img0364zn.jpg The cabin, sorry about the slightly blurry picture, but the camera just wouldn’t focus on this one. http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/621/img0365pq.jpg The backend of the ship with window and lantern. http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7878/img0369y.jpg The cargo hold. I’m surprised how many goods you can stuff into this ship despite it’s rather small hull. By the way, the cabin is also modular/removable which might not have been an all that bright idea from my side since the rigging makes it rather awkward. http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/2954/img0370iw.jpg The anchor mechanism in the frontend of the ship. My other MOC this time around so far. A small prison that is somewhat inspired by the first POTC movie. http://img840.imageshack.us/img840/903/img0376cu.jpg Say cheese! Just a warning to any would be pirates. The net is based on the one from the troll ship. http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/9352/img0377mh.jpg The other side of the prison. The dock is blatantly stolen from the Eldorado Fortress. http://img16.imageshack.us/img16/5621/img0378xd.jpg The hallway to the prison cells. On the wall we have some shackles, a torch and a key. The can doors open. http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/2066/img0379nc.jpg The interior of the prison, yes the roof is removable. http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/9568/img0380hd.jpg Open doors and a removable wall piece to free the poor Mr. Gibbs. http://img850.imageshack.us/img850/4634/img0382hs.jpg The gallows, complete with functioning trapdoor. I’ll thank my brother for taking the pictures. There will be coming some more MOC’s soon, but the camera was running out of power.
  21. Well, it’s not the only case of them playing football, it’s also mentioned in the Admiral’s profile from the LEGO Mania magazine. Still kind of goofy though. Time for another Pirates of the Caribbean video game update thanks to Brickwiki: Maccus Mr. Mercer Sao Feng Tia Dalma Lian & Park (at least I assume it’s them in the background of Sao Feng’s pictures) Bootstrap Bill (at least I think it's his barnacle encrusted face that we see behind Davy Jones) Scarlett Giselle Also, I have made a few scans of the Danish version of the pirate comic that I have. Inside of the cover with the various groups and lots of named people. http://img690.imageshack.us/img690/7962/grupper.jpg And this is most of the story about the Blackdeed cousins. http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/6451/blackdeed.jpg
  22. While I know nothing about the show in question, I must say that I'm rather curious about how you got that Jack Stone hairpiece of the figure and how it stays on a regular LEGO head. Resemblance seems pretty good from what I can see in the pictures.
  23. Thanks for all the comments. Go ahead and borrow some techniques, I don't mind as I'm curious about the result. As for the hair, I was thinking about the hairpiece that the hula girl of the collectable minifigures has, but I couldn't find one in black, and the one with the flower on it seemed inappropriate. On the other hand any longer hairpiece wouldn't be capable of turning to cover one of her eyes.
  24. Maybe I should have said this a little earlier, but thanks for the links. I'll see what I can do about ideas and techniques.
  25. I acknowledge that the June figure was rubbish. But a few minutes, a head change and some handmade decals later: I must say that the attitude of this face is much more fitting.
