  1. I got 3661 Bank and Money Transfer, 3 boxes of 7896, 1 box of 7996, and 10194 Emerald Night. I've spent a small chunk of change on Lego this past month, haha. But it's worth the excitement! :) On to figuring out a GOOD sorting method for me.
  2. Reading this reminds me that, despite my urges, I'll need to be picking up Emerald Night before Maersk. If I don't get an EN before they are gone, I'll be 100% super sad. I'll be visiting my fiance in Chicago this weekend, so maybe I'll try and make a pit stop.
  3. TheBrickGuys were my first BL order ever. I ordered 3x7896, received 2x7896 + 1x8259 (and a Star Wars key-chain). The Technic model was a promotion for being one of stores first few customers. I contacted the owners of the store and a few hours later, they were very apologetic and told me that the other track would be in the mail tomorrow (with another key-chain!). Despite the mix-up, I would say A+ to them. :) E: I should say, this is a US seller.
  4. I have another question that I wasn't able to find an answer for. And maybe it's a completely ridiculous question, but I figured I'd ask! Is it possible to do (or has anyone found the need to do) inclines?
  5. Hahaha - this is great. The guy in the back right is so intense looking, too. I laughed. Great MOC!
  6. Leg Godt Gud, your post made me decide to try my hand at ebay for some 7895. Won 2 sets for a total of $38.75. :) That's probably close to what I'd pay if I bought them on bricklink + shipping, so I was content.
  7. Whelp, another purchase: 7936 Level Crossing 7937 Train Station 7938 Passenger Train And my first BrickLink order: 3x 7896 Straight & Curved Rails Hizah!
  8. I'm super excited, no doubt! Those crossovers are a bit pricey, wow! I'll grab one of those, a box of straight and curved, and a box of points. That should give me more than enough to start with and give me a good idea as to what I need to expand with. :) E: Is it common for model train stores to carry various Lego train stuff, or is Lego train stuff not considered a branch of that hobby?
  9. Well I went ahead and bought 7936, 7937, and 7938. :P I think that's most of my Lego expenses for the month, haha. I want to grab a few pieces of extra track from Bricklink, but I'm not sure what kind to buy. What track is the "right stuff" to grab? Thanks!!!
  10. Thanks everyone for the helpful replies! I wish 7939 was in stock, haha. Does 7938 come with the same power options, just less track options? Whatever the case, what's the general opinion of the PF Rechargeable vs battery packs? The rechargeable looks to run about 50 USD + transformer at 25 USD. Really, I want to make sure I'm not just buying stuff and finding it to be useless/lay around. :)
  11. I'm going to make my first train purchase very soon, and I was hoping to get some insight on the necessities. I love the idea of building an increasingly complex and exciting train layout while I MOC various buildings/structures. So, I need help! I'm not sure what is typically included in a set and what is actually "recommended" in order to use the train in a layout. I guess I would ask: - Best "Start with me!" set. I was thinking Emerald Night (since this seems to be such a staple), but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask if there was a better option! - Power options. I realize this is probably an expensive part of the start-up, but I'm sort of accepting that with the entire LEGO hobby, haha. Pricey, yes - but worth it! - What track pieces are my best bet for purchasing? I read about flexible track? I don't know - this is another ??? - Anything else I should know/read/buy to get this side of my hobby going? I really appreciate the help everyone - thanks in advance!!!
  12. Toys-R-Us had a 20% off City sale, so I couldn't resist. Picked up 7639 Camper, 3180 Tank Truck, and 2 7566 Farmers for $43. Cheaper than S@H, so I'm content.
  13. I'm considering buying a ship - either Imperial Flagship or the Maersk Container Ship. Any pros/cons to each that would help in the decision? Also, I'm thinking of buying my first "train" set. I see the Maersk Train is coming soon, and that's what peaked my interest. What's the deal with them? Is there a good "starter/must buy" train set to get into that whole world?
  14. My other hobby.
  15. This is exciting - I'm not usually a huge pirate fan, but this set has me very ready to go shovel money into LEGO Corporation's pockets. :)
  16. Learn something new everyday! :) Thanks - and keep up the creating!
  17. I like it - Lime Green is a crazy color and it's fun to see a neat use of it. But, pardon my ignorance, how is this a Japanese style house? Maybe I'm just not seeing it.
  18. This is incredible - I LOVE western inspired MOC's. Keep it up!!!
  19. Wow - very complete list there. Thank you! :)
  20. Is there a "list" of barcodes for S3? I almost bought them, but I didn't know how to tell the difference here in the states. :(
  21. Impulse buy! 8061 Gateway of the Squid for $28 at Meijer. I neeeed to go to Target to grab 3661 Bank and Money Transfer soon.
  22. I think I'll update my profile...later...

  23. I wanna play! No set number 14758. But... 1475 And! 4758
  24. Finally bought 7946 King's Castle. S@H is such a terrible thing, haha.
  25. A lot of super helpful responses in here, thank you guys! I think as I become more "experienced" in MOC'ing, I'll start being able to buy sets as "parts packs" as Ralph_S put it. In fact, that would be a much more ideal way of buying them, haha. But since I'm still clawing my way out of my dark ages, I'm buying sets based on how appealing the official set is to me. I've also bought sets based on how I perceive them to be used for MOC'ing. Example of this would be the Grand Emporium. Really, I see all the little nuances WONDERFUL for the future of my modular style MOC plans I have. Not to mention, the set, as a display, is kinda neat. I can't find myself ever selling my LEGO sets. I'm actually excited to share this hobby and pass it down in the family. It's a very unique way to explore creativity, that's for sure!
