I think I want to get back into Technic collecting... Which sets are closest to going out of print? I'm not in a rush, so I'd like to grab one of the big sets now so I can start collecting parts and pieces. Thanks!

I purchased all the parts for the 3724 Dragon a few years back on Bricklink. I had to make adjustments to the 2x8 green and use 2~2x4 green bricks. Otherwise, all the parts are a go. No box or instructions. As it stands, I don't really want/need this anymore. I know he's going for $350+ on BL, but I don't want that much. If anyone's interested, please get in touch! It's crazy...I ordered one of these but decided to check the LEGO store near me (about 45 minutes away). They have a ton of them still, so I went and picked one up and cancelled my online order. They're all in the back, though, because they don't have the shelf space to display them. So if you want it, you have to know they have it and need to ask for it.

Well, I decided to try and get an order in for 41999. I figure it can't hurt. My next purchase will be the Unimog since it's got such high regard! After that, 42009 will likely be my next grab. There are a LOT of sets I'd love to grab, but it can be very expensive getting things ready to go. We'll see!

I can call my local LEGO store. I just saw that 41999 set. It looks fantastic, but I may be SOL in terms of getting one. Kind of a bummer! I wish LEGO wouldn't do that...Would I be able to order one on S@H and get it later, or is it a one time run? Unimog seems to be a solid option, so I may try for that (as well as the 41999 if it's available). I imagine the Unimog is heading out soon given what I've found in terms of it's shelf life. I'd hate to miss out on such a great set...I've seen that Crane Truck before, but it's impossible to obtain at a reasonable price. I'm thinking of trying to grab ~$500 worth as a starting point. It seems like a reasonable buy in for the larger sets.

Hey folks! I'm having a potential moment that may bring me out of my dark ages again...I don't have any System sets anymore, but I was thinking of buying back into Technic. I find the concept of creating "stuff that does other stuff" and "stuff that moves" really intriguing. BUT! There aren't a ton of Technic models out there that are still readily available. For someone looking to build up a Technic collection only (and have the PF to make some fun and creative MOCs), what sets would you suggest grabbing? Thanks!

Silver Mine Shootout and Constitution Train Chase look like must buys. I wish I could house a LEGO train layout and justify that set!

I've got a few on my radar that I want to pick-up. Death Star Grand Emporium Pet Shop Tower Bridge Pet Shop is the only one I can think of that's not super close to going OOP. Thoughts?

Hi all - I have decided to get rid of a few sets that are taking up space. I've recently moved to a more digital MOC state of mind (due partially to space and cost), so rather than holding onto these LEGO sets, I figured I'd see if there was any interest in them here. For the record, I'm in the US (Indiana), so shipping will need to be considered accordingly. I will only ship to the continental US, sorry. :| As for pictures, I can take a few for anyone interested! Prices do not include shipping OR PayPal/Google Pay fees (we can discuss payment options...And I get a discounted shipping rate due to work). Robie House - Box is badly damaged (it came that way). Looking to get $140 Farnsworth House - Great condition. $42 Brandenburg Gate - My newest one, so it's been on display for the least time. $15 Fallingwater - My OLDEST set. Been on display for a while, but outside of dust, it just looks pretty on my display shelf. $68 Super Star Destroyer - This was assembled WITH NO STICKERS applied. The disassembly involved breaking the set down into manageable chunks and placing the sections into freezer bags. From there, everything was placed back into the boxes IN the large box. I'd like to get $275 for this one. Shipping and fees (or gift pay) will probably put it closer to $300 after all is said and done. Fire Brigade - This is still new in box. I bought it a few months ago and haven't touched it. I can probably sell this one locally, but I'd like to get ~$115. Shipped will put this one around $125 I think. The larger boxes suck for shipping, but my discount helps. Shoot me a PM if you have questions or want details/pictures!

I haven't posted in a while, so my most recent grabs would have to be Super Star Destroyer Robie House (on the cheap!) And thanks to Double VIP... Death Star 2 x Minecraft (not to hoard, I promise!) Next month will likely be Tower Bridge so I can have all the current sets I want that are at risk of going OOP. Pet Shop and Town Hall have some shelf life left. I'm actually surprised the Death Star has been available as long as it has...

Double VIP is coming! I'm between two sets (worried about them going OOP). Death Star Tower Bridge Thoughts on which I should buy first?
-
SSD will be around for a while, yeah? I guess I could base my decision on that fact, too. :P

OK, I'm in a pickle! Grand Emporium + Pet Shop or Super Star Destroyer I don't really do the Star Wars thing. In fact, I don't have a single Star Wars set. But this model is huge and really quite impressive. Is it worth the asking price, or does the license get in the way? It comes down to me having ~$400 to spend and deciding how I should go about it.

The soda and espresso machines are, in my opinion, the hidden gems of your build. A+

OK, that pretty much seals that deal. Thanks! I don't really like the theme, but the parts in Diagon Alley are wonderful for MOC's. :)
-
My goodness, this is INCREDIBLE.
-
Between Diagon Alley and Grand Emporium, which has a longer life span left? I finally picked up Fire Brigade since that's nearing it's end. I was going to get the new 4x4 Crawler, but I've got ~2 years on that one, still. ;)

This is SO great - love it! Hahaha

You have to remember that everyone has their preferred themes. I could say the same about Star Wars or LotR or Monster Fighter - I simply have ZERO interest in supporting those themes with my money. But others do, and that's what LEGO is aiming for. MOCs like the one below (along with custom Modulars) are what I get my kicks on. Microscale building is no different than any other MOC/official set in that it aims to use pieces in unique ways to accurately portray the designer's vision. Credit here.

Not really a "what set" as more of a "what stuff" should I buy. I have 2 Supercars and will have an Excavator soon. I'll also be picking up the 4x4 when it becomes available. So that gives an idea as to what Power Functions I have (or will have) available. If I want to pick up some additional PF stuff for building more RC-style vehicles, what PF parts should I invest in?
