[GBW] Island Rush - Plighia - 4 of 4: Matter of Time
ParmBrick posted a topic in The Great Brick War
Finally, after many weeks of fighting, the Plighia army reached the city of St. George. After the success of Operation Ur, it became clear that Burke Atoll's invasion of Tosul's days are numbered. The last pockets of resistance are scattered and isolated. Although they continue to maintain a certain presence in the southern regions, their supply lines have been blocked by a total embargo and air raids against their ships. Now that the military presence of Plighia has established itself in the territory, and with the continuous naval and air support to the troops, we are now proceeding with the liberation of the occupied territories, but above all, the rescue of the citizens of Plighia remained imprisoned and blocked in Burke during the conflict. Fortunately, the citizens of Plighia managed to reach St. George before Tosul, at the beginning of the conflict, managed to take control of the communication routes. This is facilitating rescue operations, and now the last citizens are being brought to safety, to the north, where the base camp at the Maybury Ruins has been set up, and from there, transported on the support vessels of the fleet. The last citizen to be rescued is a famous geologist who was in Burke to conduct research. Unfortunately for him, his residence is located at the entrance to St. George's Castle in D4 quadrant, a splendid Victorian-style residence, now reduced to ruins by bombing. The man did not want to leave the residence so as not to risk his life. Now, however, a convoy of the Desert Fox of the Plighia army is taking advantage of the fact that the enemies are retreating, barricading themselves in the castle, to organize a mission to help the geologist. You has to get on board, we don't have much time, we have received news of enemy heavy vehicles in the area... What are you holding?!". Geologist: "OK! I get onboard!... This is a special stone.. Tosul must never get his hands on it, and neither do other nations.." Raid in the city (2) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Lt. Ronald Pastrami: "Yeah sure.. We're leaving!" Sgt. We can finally bring these civilians away from here, the heavy vehicles and the chosen troops will arrive soon, and there will be nothing left of this place". IUCV driver: "We lead the way!" Let's not end up in his line of fire! Here Whale 2, to DEM, an enemy tank, one ClercLe T12, has just arrived and destroyed Otter 1!" Sgt. Eric: "Someone is still alive! They are coming out of the trunk! Quick, get them into the truck!" Cpl. Oscar Inglewood: "Driver and co-driver of the IUCV died in the explosion, the flames are devouring the vehicle, we only made it because they are protected in the rear row ..." *an ever closer rumble* Tank Commander: "We have arrived, hold on, we will take care of the enemy tank, and we will also clear your way from the carcasses and debris. Raid in the city (10) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Tank Commander: "Here Wolverine 84, to DEM, we are observing that the enemies are retreating inside the castle". Raid in the city (11) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Team Rats 2 Lt. George Boros: "here we come, the castle. Finally the last chapter of this senseless war is written". Team Desert Fox Cpt. Peter Label: "Let's move inside, pay attention to every movement, there may also be traps, stay close, and don't expose yourself". Raid in the city (12) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr DEM operator: "Our intelligence has just verified that most of the military leaders of Tosul's army in the area have cowardly fled the island, leaving thousands of men under threat, who are surrendering to the military liberation forces everywhere. We receive reports that troops in the city are withdrawing, and clearing operations are underway from Paul Scott Airport. We have now received order from the high military commando, chaired by our highest military leaders and by President Samina, we no longer have to take military action, as the leaders of Tosul intend to start peace negotiations. I repeat, no military action, updated rules of engagement, respond to fire only if necessary, and in any case, do not start gunfights with the enemy for first". [GBW] Island Rush - Plighia - 3 of 4: Operation Ur
ParmBrick replied to ParmBrick's topic in The Great Brick War
Thank you! It was not a particularly simple job to be able to make the ground of this diorama, I tried with different techniques, but for me this is the best, obviously given my availability of pieces A curiosity. The name of this diorama is inspired by the actual "Operation Babylon" which was carried out by Israel in 1981 against a nuclear power plant in Iraq, before it went into operation, fearing the possibility that the Arab nation could take advantage of it to enrich uranium. Babylon was the capital of the Babylonian empire; Ur was one of the largest cities for the Babylonians. -

I'm glad you like it! I wanted to create something original, obviously inspired by real models, but not necessarily so much like it, the right balance between originality and functionality. -
[GBW] Island Rush - Plighia - 3 of 4: Operation Ur

Thank you! Obviously the first image does not apply to the final calculation, as it is only a premise to the main story and serves as an incipt. -
Well done! Love how you make the story as a comics book!

Finally after several days of fighting all along the north coast, the Plighia army is advancing rapidly towards the city of Saint George. The intelligence, however, has other plans for Rats Team 3, in fact, thanks to all the information collected throughout the campaign up to this point, it was possible to identify a MILP (Mobile ICBM Lauch Pod) of the army of Tosul who held in position along the main island river, that carry a nuclear warhead, in the quadrant D3. There is a need and urgency to put the missile station out of action before the high command Tosul launches the launch order, with harmful consequences for the whole world. Then Operation Ur was organized, for which a commando of selected soldiers will be transported on assault boats along the river (the shortest and most direct way) to the MILP site, an attack group supported by a heavily armed UCAV helicopter. Heavy enemy resistance is expected in the area. GBW Island Rush - Phase III (1) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Cpt. Gabriel Parm: "Ok comrades, this is probably the most sensitive mission of the entire conflict here on the island, the enemy army has deployed a MILP along the coast of this river as you well know, our mission, I repeat, is to neutralize the MILP and if possible also recover possible sensitive enemy information. Expect a "warm" welcome". Spec. Thomas Rough: "Received, my job remains to operate on the bomb before they launch it if I understand correctly, right? it will be challenging because the intelligence has confirmed that it is a new missile model, I will need a hand". Cpt. Parm: "Yes, Spec. Elizabeth it is here to give you a hand". ...Meanwhile... GBW Island Rush - Phase III (2) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Tosul soldier 1: "The perimeter is safe, we have received orders to maintain the position, it seems that the enemy is marching towards the city". Tosul soldier 2: "What's this noise? it looks like a helicopter ... we didn't ask for air support I think ... and our radars don't detect anything ...". Tosul soldier 3: "Damn it's an enemy stealth UCAV helicopter!" GBW Island Rush - Phase III (3) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr *UCAV gutling gun shoots* Tosul soldier 1: "Take shelter!" Tosul soldier 4: "Enemy boats are coming!" GBW Island Rush - Phase III (4) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Sgt. Brian: "Come on guys! Let's take control of the site!" Spec. Elizabeth: "Wow! that's a huge MILP!" Cpt. Parm: "Shoot down those enemies behind the trees!" Dinghy gunner: "Don't worry, we offer suppression fire! Watch out for the MILP automatic turret!" GBW Island Rush - Phase III (5) (Overall view) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Lt. Serena: "Argh! I was hit! Damn turret!" Sgt. Brian: "I'm here, Serena, hold on!" Spec. Elizabeth: "I throw an EMP grenade at the turret to disable it!" GBW Island Rush - Phase III (6) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr *BANG!* *Turret disabled* Cpt. Parm: "All enemies down! Someone is still inside the MILP". Spec. Rough: "Yes, I ear them inside..." GBW Island Rush - Phase III (7) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Spec. Elizabeth: "There will be a way to flush them out ... may we could operate from the external control panel of the MILP to make them give up". Spec. Rough: "Sure! We could convey the engine coolant to the interior ventilation system, we will freeze them! Let's get to work right away". Cpt. Parm: "How's Serena Doing?" Sgt. Brian: "Serena need medical assistance, but is a strong woman, she will make it!" GBW Island Rush - Phase III (8) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Tosul soldier 1: "What are they doing? I'm dying of cold in here ..." Tosul soldier 2: "Shut up! I am deleting sensitive data from the on-board computer, they will never have it ..." ...after a few minutes... GBW Island Rush - Phase III (9) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Tosul soldiers: "We surrender.." Cpt. Parm: "Take them!" GBW Island Rush - Phase III (10) by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr Spec. Rough: "Look, Captain, what I found inside the MILP, a PC!" Cpt. Parm: "Surely they will have deleted the data we needed". Spec. Rough: "Probably, but I know a person who is an ace in computer science, a real nerd, who is able to recover any type of data even if they have tried to delete, encrypted or secure it, the last word is not yet said!" Cpt. Parm: "Perfect. Now we hope that the liberation of the city and the safety of our compatriots will happen soon, and that there will not be too many losses. Tosul will put everything he has to stake to maintain control of the island, especially now that his plan to allocate nuclear ICBMs is failing".

Nice diorama! I really like hovercrafts, they are very detailed. However, I would have paid more attention to adding other details to the beach, such as a more marked chromatic alternation for the sand, more vegetation and a more accentuated three-dimensional morphology (more dunes, bumps, roughness, etc.).
-
I assure you that 4 soldiers can enter the model, plus one in the turret (as you can see), and their equipment fits comfortably in the rear trunk Thank you! The answer is yes, but I had already said it at the beginning, in the description. I consider the Brickmania model the highest standard to aspire to, and take as a reference
-
Thank you! I tried to use even bigger wheels, but it was disproportionate, so I chose to use these wheels, which seemed to me to guarantee the right ratio of proportions compared to the original model. The best solution is often the easiest and most intuitive. Thank you too! I chose this version of the HMMWV as I consider it one of the best, and most beautiful, as well as functional, also due to the fact that it has unique characteristics that are never found in subsequent versions. It was particularly intriguing to create the front hood with that angle, and with all the main features of the original model, such as the air intake grille. It took several hours of study to find the correct joints.

Hi guys! Today I introduce you to mine Lego HMMWV 1114 UAH, inspired from Brickmania model. The M1114 HMMWVis an armored version of the Humvee family vehicle. The M1114 can be fitted with a wide range of weapon systems on the roof with ring mount station. The M1114 armor protection includes of welded aluminum, composite and steel. Up-Armored HMMWV (UAH) kit, FRAG (Fragmentary Armor Kits) kits 1, 1a, 2, and 5, as well as a GPK(Gunner Protection Kit) or MCTAGS (Marine Corps Transparent Armor Gun Shield ) for the gunner’s protection. This up-armored package provides the occupants with ballistics protection through a full 360º, in addition to overhead and underbody blast protection. The M1114 HMMWV included 900 kg steel-plated doors, steel plating under the cab and several layers of bonded, ballistic-resistant glass to replace zip-up plastic windows. The M1114 HMMWV could also be fitted with countermine/counter-IED devices such as the Self-Protection Adaptive Roller Kit and the Rhino passive anti-IED device. The M1114 is air transportable by military transport aircraft. A spare wheel is mounted at the rear of the vehicle.

I love how you render the terrain, very realistic! Nice story too! -
That's cool! It reminds me a lot of the late Soviet tanks of the Cold War, all concentrated in one, especially I find many similarities with the t80.

The troops that landed on the island are facing strong resistance, intelligence hypothesizes that enemy troops use alternative routes to reach the battlefields. So the 1st Desert Fox Group is sent to Quadrant D2 to assist the advance, and find out where the enemies come from. The intense enemy activity in the southern quadrants suggests that they hide something big, every attempt by the drones in these quadrants is in vain, they are destroyed by anti-aircraft and enemy fighters, even before they manage to discover something. To prevent them from hindering our advance, and allowing our troops to deploy in those sensitive areas, these alternative routes must be discovered. Somewhere in the mountains of sector D2. Drone reconnaissance has unearthed the alternative routes that Tosul uses to deploy his soldiers along the coast. Passes, crossings and beds of dry streams are the new ways of communication now that the main ones have been destroyed or blocked. A drone of the 1st Desert Fox Group is in reconnaissance over a mountain pass with a old railway, when it records enemy activity, right near them ... PREMISE (not count for scoring, it only counts as the background for the overall story ) The "Golden Lion" aircraft carrier strike group, consisting of the aircraft carrier, an amphibious assault ship, two cruisers, two destroyers, two heavy cruisers, a support ship and a submarine, having been stationed for days outside the territorial waters of Burke Atoll, he sneaks in taking advantage of the night, entering the C1 quadrant, thus starting the invasion of the island. GBW Island Rush - Phase I by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr The actual attack began at 02:30 am: a shower of cruise missiles is launched from every ship against every position on the ground, and against every enemy ship, known to intelligence, plus the Golden Lion launch a drone armed with a special jammer capable to interfere with enemy radars, avoiding a rapid counterattack by them or by rapidly identifying naval and air units. In a few minutes a newly identified enemy destroyer, which was converging towards the fleet, was sunk, while other missiles successfully added and destroyed most of radar positions, anti-aircraft and missile batteries and bunkers along the coast. GBW Island Rush - Phase I by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr GBW Island Rush - Phase I by Jordan Parmegiani, su Flickr At the same time, fighters, UCAV drones and troop transport helicopters are launched from the Golden Lion and the assault amphibious ship: they head to the coast, while their safety is guaranteed by the escort of air fighters, to unload platoons of soldiers who will have to take control of the coastal sectors to ensure the landing of land vehicles. Several helicopters point to the C2 quadrant, to the Maybury Ruins.... Not A History Lesson (main story) ...Cpt. Gabriel Parm: "Comrades, this will not be a walk or a history lesson, the Maybury Ruins are a very important site to be conquered, it is worth the success of the entire operation. I remind you that there is much more at stake than the safety of the our citizens that we have to help here in Burke Atoll, so get on your nerves and give it our all". This is only the beginning, the most difficult part will be to help our citizens in Saint George.” Helicopeter pilot: “We are in sight of the destination, prepare for landing”. Cpt. The P12A3 "Wolverine" is a latest generation Main Battle Tank, produced by Troula Manufactory, a company adhering to the APMIP of the Defense Department of Plighia. It was conceived as a future national MBT that will support and, over the years, supplant the old MBT dated to the Cold War. The P12A3 is equipped with the latest technological innovations: a new "York C233" 125 mm autoloader cannon, a 1500 HP diesel engine, a displacement of about 60 tons, Gunshot Detection System, Laser Warning System and various smoke dischargers. A CROWS station is positioned on the turret, and the two periscopes equipped with advanced optics and IR sensors can be identified. It also has an advanced APS (Active Protection System) system, codenamed "HOMELAND", capable of intercepting missiles, grenades and projectiles on the fly, like its rivals TROPHY and AFGHANIT. But the biggest novelty of all introduced on this MBT are the new ERA plates. These ERAs, called "ADAMANT", are much more advanced and functional than their predecessors, in fact they are capable of blocking not only normal projectiles and missiles, but also the new generations of "tandem" projectiles designed to penetrate normal ERAs. This greater protection, however, has the side effect of making the new MBT heavy by several tons and therefore making it less agile and faster than the factory features.
