  1. You've Been Awarded (1) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment: Great build. The fact that it was reused from BoBS killed the originality score. When I saw the note on it being reused, I actually sighed in sadness. But, am thankful for the honesty. Honesty is appreciated, but the reused build is a no no. For presentation, add a lil bit more angle to the pic, so we can see into the foxhole, and try not to stand in front of the light, big shadow area on right. I honestly don't mind the fact that it was reused from BoBS. Your use of the custom minifigures made it fitting for this forum in my view. (THOUGH IT IS A RULE NOT TO REUSE) You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track.
  2. You've Been Awarded (1) Point(s): Judges Comments (not all judges comment): I like the detail through out. Didn't like the presentation of them all next to each other. Basic story, but it feels as if you are introducing some charcters that will join the military. You should render your builds before you display them, rendering makes a huge difference in quality. Please, look into it. I would leave out the line up of builds. Unless it's needed, don't bother. You can Update your AAR Post with your points to keep track.
  3. Cows probably ran you a bit of money haha. Nice!
  4. The Representative from Alsarh has motioned for the council to order the nation's of Toohati, Brioului, and Filace to convene a peace summit. The council requires (3) Cosignatures to pass the motion. Any who wish to cosign, post here. Deadline to pass motion is Tuesday 3/21/17.
  5. No, brick of Nation posts are really just dialogue and story building. You're good.
  6. PM me let's discuss ideas. I received another question earlier- "Another question: The point scale goes from infantry to armor to navy to air force to airborne, etc. Does this mean my sigfig is jumping between these specializations and branches or does it simply indicate at what level these options are available to use in the game?" Answer- the levels indicate when you unlock things, not what you must do. You have options.
  7. Yes, cool scene. Like stash mentioned, we are pushing for original material here, no double dipping. Thank you for the honesty. That being said you have 30 days to build another, but this one will be scored as is.
  8. We would be happy to have you at whatever your schedule can allow. All we ask is that while you're here, your doing solid builds. Let us know if you have questions.
  9. @Spud The Viking you have until 4/17/17 to submit your entry for the campaign. I just unveiled the campaign this morning, you have plenty of time to work on that. If you are referring to side build, you can submit it whenever you want. It will now count as 1 of your 4 total you can build between campaigns. So between now and 4/17/17 you can submit a total of 4 side builds and one entry for the campaign build. The campaign build should be grander in the scale of size, detail, effort and story than the others. Let me know if I answered your question. Also I received a question earlier: "How do you and your staff intend to maintain fair voting since all of you are playing also?" So to give you guys an inside look currently we have (4) Judges on our Panel and only (3) of those judges are playing in the game. That means at any given time one of us builds something, there will be (3) other judges who are voting. Builds are given (3) Scores per Judge- 1 for Originality (Concept, Story, and Building), 1 for Build Quality (Speaks for itself), 1 for Presentation (Is the build Orderly? Are your pictures clear? Does your story make sense?). Each score is ranged from 0 - either 10 or 4 (Campaign vs side builds). Then, an average is taken of all scores from all judges. So in summation if I submit a side build, it will be scored by (3) other judges and not me. Hope this helps.

Job Well Done! _____________________________________________________________ Filace’s aerial bombing of the Central Radar Station in retaliation for Briolui’s seizure of the facility has caused a rapid buildup of forces on both sides. Countries in Studica are activating their reserve and inactive units in preparation for the unexpected. The COAC believes an invasion from Briolui to be imminent with the capture of several spies and recon teams, but they don’t know where it will occur. Briolui and its regional RON allies have stepped up their intelligence gathering in Filace and other COAC countries. With the recent hostilities between the RON and COAC reaching an all time high, countries on both sides have put their military forces on high alert and called most of their citizens home. Campaign Guidelines Countries that are part of the COAC are to build MOCs depicting their side digging in and preparing for an invasion. Research what countries have done in recent conflicts to prepare for invading forces. Though not always directly in the crosshairs, nations may do certain things to prepare for war. Countries in the RON are to build MOCs depicting their side mobilizing offensive forces and preparing to support an offensive campaign. Research what countries have done to prepare for an invasion in modern times. The first Gulf War is a great example. The Coalition that liberated Kuwait was comprised of over 20 nations, not all of them were involved in the assault. All builds must be posted as a new topic in the “Great Brick War” subforum, the title prefixed by, "(GBW- CP1)" followed by the Country you’re representing, and then your MOC’s Title. Example "(GBW- CP1) Filace - Fueling up the Jets") Being that this is the first campaign, a strong emphasis should be placed on depicting your country in a unique form (Geography, Culture, Military Equipment, ETC.) The more original and in depth your depiction is, the more points you can earn. Be sure to include a Map Listing Name and Grid based on the maps we've created. There is no minimum or maximum size requirement for this build. All builds must be new MOC’s and not prior builds. Photo Editing is to be kept to a minimum with only real edits of lighting and color correction. No special effects. Players may crop one picture of their MOC onto a background picture to help with their landscape if they’d like. This is not allowed for LDD. Pictures cannot be bigger than 800x600 Players may post a link to an offsite host such as Flickr where a Higher Res pics are located. Be cool and share your photos in the GBW Flickr Group! Please refer to the General Rules Topic for limitations based on your Point Level. Upon completion, players must also post a link to their build in the AAR Thread as well letting the judges know that it is eligible for scoring. Campaign Duration 3/17/17 - 4/17/17 All builds will not be finalized until the closing date for the campaign. Players can edit their posts up until that point. As long as it is 4/17/17 somewhere in the world, you can submit. Use this as a deadline https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/usa/baker-island The Outcome The winning team will be given a choice to attack or defend in the next campaign All players who participate will be awarded the points they earn for each build. All players who participate in the first build will be deemed GBW Pathfinders and will earn this tag ANY QUESTIONS or COMMENTS ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN SHOULD BE POSTED HERE.
  11. Your Intro post. I may add it to the country index.
  12. You can use whatever you'd like, this was just a suggestion to help out. Using Google is not your best option. I'd also focus on shifting up the story a bit as I mentioned earlier, this isn't really a troop movement and the first campaign is going to drop tomorrow. Thanks
  13. Naval Operations are unlocked at Level 21. So build within reason. I wouldn't have a ship as the primary focus of my build. You could say have someone on a ship in passing or say doing a Briefing on a ship in their War Room. But again, I would not have a ship as the primary focus. At Level 21 you can rain down Naval Destruction on your enemy's shores. If someone is taking the time to build a ship, I would save it until you reach that point level so that way you have something unique at that point level and super detailed to roll out for your build. I wouldn't have someone commanding until they move up the food chain a little bit. Happy Hunting.
  14. This is great! Everyone should check this out and try something similar. Thank you!
  15. I'm going to post this up here for both teams as there have been a few questions about the flow of this game and I'd like to address any concerns So first and foremost, you are your country. You create your soldiers, news, politicians, Brick of Nations ambassadors Etc. You use all of them to play the game through the various means in campaigns and side builds. As you complete campaign missions and side builds, you will earn points that will allow you to build different things and enhance your military character. Side builds are laid out for people to do in such a way where you can be creative with what you would like to do. Campaigns will be a little bit more direct and on point with what you are supposed to build. However, there will be breathing room for you to use your imagination. In observing some of the other games, we decided to not roll out any real limitations other than the points system at this time. Things like resources and real estate are intricate and some times add a cool factor to the game. Sometimes though, they become distractions and players make them their sole purpose instead of focusing on building for the sake of the game and having fun. As the game progresses, we introduce some of these things but nothing is planned for the immediate future. With regard to the Diplomacy situation, this is again based on good judgement and your imagination. Players can't go to war with each other without declaring it. Filace was attacked on (2) occasions (though both were not direct acts of war) therefore it declared war on the other nations. That means those nations are now fair game to full on assault. Now does this mean all COAC countries are going to go to war? Probably not. Just like in our world, sometimes full fledged allies don't go to war if their allies are attacked but they provide support and other things like that. It is up to you to persuade your allies to join you or work out deals of some kind. You create an ambassador to the Brick of Nations to represent you there. So here's a hypothetical situation: Commonwealth of Southern Territories-(RON) decides it is going to go to war with Filace-(COAC). This half way across the map. If that player wanted to assault Filace, they would need to do a few things. First, the player would have to do a side build showing them moving troops. Be realistic, a ground invasion isn't happening from that far away with out help or prestaging troops in friendly territory. A Naval assault would take time, so ships should be shown moving into place, same thing with planes needing to stage from somewhere. Another option, the player could seek a deal with a neighboring allied country to house troops or build a base on their land. The player could do a side build showing their base being constructed (or the other nation building it) and then they could do a separate build showing them starting to move troops there. All the staff is asking for is for you to use fair judgement. Don't post a side build of your country building a base and then a day later have your troops moving in. Be reasonable. Bases take time to build, maybe over the course of a campaign or something like that. We don't want to put specific restrictions on these things because it keeps things interesting but we will if it is abused. It is up to you to keep track of the "treaties" you've made with other nations. And if you have a problem with any of them, the Brick of Nations is the place to bring them up and perhaps find a resolution. If there is something you'd like to do but are really unsure if it is okay, ask a staff member. The worst they can say is "No". I hope this clears up some of your confusion. If you have questions, this is the place to ask so that all players can be on the same page. Chances are if you don't understand something, someone else probably doesn't either. Get talking with your teams. The first campaign is going to drop tomorrow.
  16. You might want to fix your image code or host on somewhere like flickr. Also, a "Troop Buildup" or movement is used to place troops for military action, not for a parade and a feast unless their attacking the feast. This might be something worked a little better under a media build like having them cover the parade or something. Just throwing some things out there for you to think about before we score it. Thanks!
  17. FYI, you unlock Armor at Level 11. See the point scale.
  18. You only need to list your topic in your AAR Thread @VaderFan2187 I've created a flickr group for the Great Brick War. Players are encouraged to join and share their uploads for the game with the group so we have everything in a central area. https://www.flickr.com/groups/greatbrickwar/
  19. Those who've added sigfig pics and made AAR posts have been added to the player base under the World Map and County Index topic. The rest of you, get to it.
  20. Filace Ambassador to the Brick of Nations, Curtis Larkin "Too long have the people of Filace been terrorized by these rogue nations of the world looking to use whatever means necessary to achieve their desires. The delusions of grandeur that some nations aspire to come at the cost of peace and stability in our region. We can no longer stand idly by as our borders are not respected, national agreements are not honored, and aggressor nations threaten more. Filace has on two occasions in the past month been assaulted by Sovereign nations of the world and this council has stood silent allowing chaos to run rampant. Your failure to act has caused us to take our own action. Let it be known that effective immediately, Filace is declaring war on Briolui and Toohati. We call on our allies to condemn these acts of aggression and stand united with us to fight for the good of all minifigs. We ask all RON nations to do the right thing and condemn your allies for the acts of aggression they have taken here. We do not make this statement lightly as we understand the burdens of war. War is not great nor pleasant, it is awful. We are only advocating war as a means to achieve peace and to protect our people. May God help us all."
  21. That country already has (2) Players. Please select another. Thanks.
  22. That's a fair question. There are staff members playing on both alliances and in both teams private comms. I speak for myself and the staff when I say our goal is to see the game play on, not to win it. What fun would it be if I won my own game?
  23. @VaderFan2187 if it's real, you can build it. If it's not, don't. Do some research on real world military weaponry, vehicles, and fortifications and start thinking creatively. BTW, The more specific you get with your questions, the more strict we will have to be with our rules. Do your fellow players a favor and take a few minutes to really think about your questions before posting. This is a game, not the SATs
