What the Unholy Lama thinks of modern LEGO
The Middleman replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
As far as Harry Potter goes, I can understand for the merpeople set, but for the graveyard... it's a fantastic model. And it's going to be $15 under piece/price value! The dragon set (link) has the <insert that tiresome argument> dragon, but the rest is great - mountain pieces, wood planks, etc. And sure, the ship uses the 4+ hull, but the pieces are fantastic. -
What the Unholy Lama thinks of modern LEGO
The Middleman replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think 2005 LEGO is better than LEGO has been in YEARS. Look at: - Knight's Kingdom 2 (Ankoria only - the first wave was horrible, but this new one is fantastic) - City (a complete throwback to original Town!) - Star Wars (great, less <insert that tiresome argument> models, with tons of pieces and color-coded soldiers) - Vikings (a historical theme! Sure, it has some BIONICLE pieces, but so do the great Ankoria sets.) - Harry Potter (a graveyard! A ship!) Personally, I love 2005. And so does everyone else - LEGO is reporting that its problems have reversed. Far from not selling enough LEGO, they're selling too much - the factories can't keep up! -
As far as torsos go, I have this, this, this, this, and this (couldn't resist :-D). I also have the assorted Adventurers female torsos (no Orient Expedition, though) and the assorted Alpha Team female torsos (minus Deep Freeze). Also, could you give me an example of which hair you want? I don't know whether you mean Hermione hair or the other one. Oh, and I also have this. Forgot to check Studios.

Q: Can I change my sigfig? A: Of course. By 'no compromises', I meant that I didn't have to substitute any of the requested pieces. I did not mean that I wasn't willing to change it! ;) Q: Won't we all have seperate rooms? A: You'll see. Q: Snefroe's pharaoh helmet!? A: I'm not sure about this myself. It looks rather silly amongst all the modern characters. Snefroe, do you have a second choice?

They SUGGEST it for kids ages six and up, but they say that you SHOULD NOT give it to someone 0-3. They're not saying it's unsuitable for a 4-year-old, just that 6+ is the target range.

PHOTO REVIEW - Vladek's Dark Fortress!
The Middleman replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Insofar as Vladek and Vikings are evil. Maybe they're just trying to abolish <insert that tiresome argument> building, and Mathias and his motley crew are defending it! :o -
PHOTO REVIEW - Vladek's Dark Fortress!
The Middleman replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Final report card. As in end-of-year. As with most teens (at least in the states), I get moolah for good grades. And bildur... when the castle of good is dysfunctional with horribe piece/price value, who can resist the pull of evil? :-D -
PHOTO REVIEW - Vladek's Dark Fortress!
The Middleman replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I just got my final report card, and I did rather well. ;) I'm going to have to budget my money from this point forward, though... no more random set purchases! I'm alotting a good $350 to Vikings, of course... ;) (keep in mind I buy DVDs, LEGO, and just about nothing else - so my LEGO budget is pretty high in general) -
Phes, if you have something bad to say about the keyring, then say it - you're right, positive and negative feedback are essential to any set! However, if you have nothing either way to say about the set - it's boring, 'I don't care', etc., then that doesn't contribute. I think that's what John is trying to say. :)

No problem. I just labeled everyone with their exact username. It's your choice! Brickster - that handsome fellow there is wearing the Dracula torso from Vampire Crypt. I was lucky enough to have the chance to pick up the Studio Monster sets. Everyone else - thank you! Just wait till I finish the mansion...

PHOTO REVIEW - Vladek's Dark Fortress!
The Middleman replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's unfortunate that the mottled steel is nowhere else in this line. P.S. - I picked up Scorpion Prison Cage today. Look out for another photo review later on tonight. -
mr. lego_bildur Fig totally complete, no compromises! :) Athos Fig complete except for head - compromising with this. Acceptable? Jipay Fig totally complete, no compromises! :) Darkie Fig totally complete, no compromises! :) Brickster Your fig is currently using the Pomero suit, a white police cap, and tan pants. However, since you were looking for a black suit, I'd like to suggest this torso. Get back to me on that with any changes you'd like to make. jonfett Fig totally complete, no compromises! :) xwingyoda The fig's complete except for the head (I have NO World City, only City and Town). Still, I think it looks a little bland. Maybe a more exciting torso? (and I do need a second head choice)

PHOTO REVIEW - Vladek's Dark Fortress!
The Middleman replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, I'm glad everyone is enjoying the review. The BIONICLE pieces used didn't ruin it at all, in my opinion. I hope the Viking sets are up to this standard of quality (at least for the fortress and ship - I could care less about the rest!). Even if the sets are crap, we'll have that AWE-INSPIRING mottled steel armor to look forward to. It really is awesome. (keep an eye out for it on display in my Clue mansion!) -
Hey all, Basically, in order to illustrate the stories for everyone, I need you guys (and gal) in LEGO form. So, just post a parts list for your figure (using part numbers or links to Peeron/Bricklink). A few basic rules: 1. I don't have EVERY FIGURE IN EXISTENCE. So, try to keep the REALLY rare pieces to a minimum, and have a backup plan for torsos and heads (I have most hair/legs). 2. This is the hard one for most of you - it has to be modern. Not futuristic (jonfett, no Fett) and not too far back in the past (for instance, I can't have armor, and Akkh can't be a ninja). 3. Accessories are allowed, but no weapons. The only weapons available have to be the standard ones. 4. It has to be minifig size. No Hagrid torsos. ;) 5. Have fun! :-D Links: http://www.peeron.com http://www.bricklink.com If you have trouble finding your parts, describe them and I'll find them. ;)

Eurobricks CLUES Murder Mystery Contest
The Middleman replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, first we need all 12 participants, then we need the sigfigs of all 12 participants, then I have to finish Project Clues (don't worry, shouldn't take long!) and then the mystery starts. Unfortunately, Brickster's going to go away for around 14 days around mid-June, but don't worry, we're working something out to keep everyone busy. Other than that, the mystery ends when it ends... -
See above. I use Photobucket. I can, however, link you to my Photobucket account. http://photobucket.com/albums/v351/bloodphoenix9/

Eurobricks CLUES Murder Mystery Contest
The Middleman replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Well, Darkie! A female participant! Always good to have a little diversity. Brickster, how about putting a cap on the number of entrants? 15 or 20, maybe? It's at 9 right now.
