I, personally, could use more dark red and light blue - great accent colors for ANYTHING - and it's got some fantastic shields. Besides, I read somewhere that there is something beneath the deck, as can be observed through the hold opening. So other than the hull, I think it's rather good.

I think we should use this one, since it's particularly about the Sandcrawler pics.

Holy bejeezus! Way big. Not big enough, but still way big. A bit disappointed in the color scheme and the droids. Probably not worth $150. Oh well.

It is. Not as good as the Fortress by a long shot - construction is way inferior. Still, great pieces.

My thoughts: Ok, so they kept the 'new' designs. I liked the old ones better - who didn't? - but the fortress and the ship are still way cool. The catapult isn't that bad, the boat is pretty good, and the wolf... well, there's a figure that goes with it, eh? My biggest gripe is how they replaced the piece-built dragon-head of the old version with that 'new' dragon head.... oh well. The figures still look fantastic. Share your thoughts here! PS - these were found on www.amazon.de. If anyone sees that these have gone up for sale there, post here. ;) Right now, they're on preorder.

Besides, usually, when a set has great pieces, it's a great set.

What do you do when they don't deserve the money? What would have happened if you shelled out all that dosh to find Vladek's Dark Fortress was a complete disappointment? I would have reviewed it as it was - horrible. Then none of you would buy it.

Did you notice that every villain's bio except Sam Sinister's is prefaced by a line including 'greedy and ruthless'? Just thought that was kind of funny.

Hey, I'm just trying to make sure that when LEGO deserves the money, it gets the money. It's a damn fine set, and I'm glad some people had their opinions turned around by the review.
