LEGO Spy car with a GoPro
wissamms replied to LEGO ADAM's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I agree with Johnny1360. The idea is to have a "SPY" car, therefore it would be natural not to sit next to it during operation :) For a crane it's completely different, in real life the operators are Inside the crane to see exactely what it is doing!- 9 replies

Amazing creation, bravo! Question: how do you do to stop the rotation exactely at the starting point? Are you using any specific mechanism for this of is it just question of stopping the roation at the good time? -

Very nice build, bravo! did you use any custom parts Inside? -
Interesting solution. For those looking for even smaller, I have purchased this on Amazon: Which is an endoscopy camera, includes 6 front leds for illumination, and allows transmitting the video through Wifi (battery is Embedded Inside the small black box. this one is 5 meters long, but I guess there should be shorter cables 22 euros for this.

I like it like that, with the high speed rotation, that gives the illusion of a real blade! Nice design! -

Generic Contest Discussion
wissamms replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hello, If I may suggest some ideas, I feel that the "Techlug" (France) style of contests was pretty effective to bring out excellent models and allow rather efficient voting. I think that the main issue was to put a frame as rigid as possible around what is allowed and what is not allowed. Some examples: Contest N°20: http://www.techlug.fr/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=8213 Build a walking lego machine, with a Lego arm, and which would have: exactely six legs can go right/left all motorised 3 functions for the arm Nr of pieces between 1000 and 2500 Contest N°29: http://www.techlug.fr/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=10078 Build a skycrane helicopter, which would have: mechanism for the main and secondary rotor mechanism to lift objects can lift a container with specific dimensions (9x11x21) can be motorised max 900 pieces. As you can see, it is quite complex to make something that would be fitting all these rules, therefore you have to think about many things while designing your model. And as the frame of rules is quite solid, the voting would bring out really the "best" entry, not only the most beautiful one or the most "complex" one. I hope I made myself clear enough :)
