  1. Correct, i left the 3 segments atop the engines unmodified.
  2. There are options, but this is one way: 6 segments require the following EACH: Top side: 1 1x8 plate 1 1x4 plate 1 1x4 tile 1 1x3 tile Bluish gray. Underside: 1 1x4 plate 2 2x4 plate 1 2x3 plate 1 1x3 plate 3 segments require the following EACH: Top side: 1 2x4 plate 1 4x4 plate 1 1x 8 tile Bluish gray. Underside: 4 1x4 plate 2 2x6 plate 1 4x6 plate Plus, of course, 18 R, 18 L 2x4 wedge plates, bluish gray.
  3. OP, if I may post again in this thread so as not to create too many separate 75105 threads. I've taken inspiration from a lot of posts here, as well as from the threads of vseanv and hachiroku, to mainly get the underside of the minifig scale MF upgraded, now that the earlier 2x4 wedge plate mod has done so much for the top. What I've basically done is use the same hinge principle as for the top segments to add a certain amount of disc shape to the bottom, without making the fuselage any taller/thicker (which easily occurs when attempting to work on the underside), and while retaining the retractable 5 strut landing gear. I'm also using extra greebling sparingly. *EDITED PICS*, minor changes to make the underside segments fit flatter and tighter to the fuselage.
  4. Well, the source material for the two features described by atlas and Milkpls69 is THE source, the movie....
  5. What in heavens name could be the reasoning behind releasing Obi Wan's Interceptor, Droid Escape, Hoth Attack and the Freezing Chamber in some Euro markets but not in the US... Also somewhat astonishing how TRU undercuts S@H by a lot, on the very day of set release (not later on)..albeit only for in store pickup... EDITED TO ADD: Jangbricks on my first point:
  6. I fully agree. Considering the accuracy, features and detailing inside and out, 75140 is quite a good deal. 75139, not so much. But then again, everything is supposed to be awesome with bacon....
  7. Which country have you set your S@H to? USA shows these prices and thats also what I paid last night for 75140:
  8. Resistance Troop Transporter ordered the second it came online at S@H USA a few minutes ago! The Bacon Castle is also available...
  9. Hahahaha Nokturn! This is indeed how new set rumors get a life of their own lol!
  10. Just simply googling "LEGO 2016 new X wing set" yielded this image, without having to resort to military intel or torture of LEGO factory employees:
  11. BTW, I keep forgetting to ask: How exactly do the rear landing skids fold away?
  12. I truly admire and appreciate the teamwork guys! Awesome!
  13. Exactly General Hux, i dont find it too much of a stretch to assume that General Organa's module is more of a mobile temporary command and control station (to be inserted near the battlefront), rather than a strict transporter that has her sitting between the grunts...
  14. OP, if i may post this in your thread: Came across this adorable review of the set by a kid on the family dinner table: http://youtu.be/pRQjfVIwrNI He actually posted an original and interesting idea on the modular nature of the craft (consisting of a fighter with an insertable transport module), which doesn't seem all too far fetched, given the backstory of the design, and I hope to see this idea explored in future episodes...In the words of Yoda: "Truly wonderful the mind of a child is":
  15. It took me a few moments to realize this is Lego! At first glance it looked like movie model. Awesome
  16. In all fairness, no toy company got Kylo's shuttle right, so it's fair to assume the companies received preliminary source material to work with...
  17. But....that's the FORBIDDEN class of shuttle!!!! (Cough...Google Lambada and forbidden ...cough ...) ;)
  18. £49.99 and £59.99 respectively. You can go to shop@home and select the country for current and upcoming sets
  19. You're getting there billyamy! You've struck a good balance between detail and retaining the overall lines, keep it up!
  20. Love the progress! I modded the hell out of the 75102 and love to see what can be achieved with a full MOC starting from scratch!
  21. Its the Resistance Troop Transporter (75140) Very accurate, except for some external coloring perhaps, and detailing of both the rear and the interior are a step up from the norm IMO.
  22. In the very short time I've been a member, I've seen something very similar to the following happen: 1: Someone says: "a new UCS MF would be awesome" 2:Followed by 10 posts that it would be awesome indeed. 3:Then someone on another forum posts: "Hey, over on EB there is talk of a UCS MF". 4:Then this very info comes back here as"multiple sources are speaking about a new UCS MF". And voilà....we have our newest bombshell set rumor... ........
  23. Did you add a conventional hinge on either side of the 4 stud wide hinge plate? I indeed had to add that for more friction. Also, the 12x2 orange plate of the rear wing should nicely fit in a recess in the top part, keeping things locked and level when the wings are closed. Good luck! Edited to add: if you mean that the wing itself sags in relation to the engine cowling, have a close look at this pic; notice how the one stud wide orange plate under the 2X12 orange plate runs all the way to the craft's fuselage for stiffness:
  24. I agree that the storyline didn't particularly lend itself to a vast number of additional different vehicles. We already have quite a few ahem , cold weather, vehicles nearly unused as it is.. I actually like the standardized attack craft approach of both resistance and FO, as this is realistic for the types of conflict shown in the movie. Even the resistance troop transport has the specific backstory to why it's looks like it does..
  25. These are the prices of the two bigger sets on the US shop@home
