Another great moc from the 'camber guy' LOL  all your mocs have that distinctive minus wheel camber,I like it a lot. The hood is too short I agree, but overall it's unmistakably AE86. Anyway since most of your car mocs are based on Japanese anime and car cultures, I would love to see you make more of them in bricks: - Nissan Skyline KPGC10 - 'Hako Suka' - Nissan Skyline KPGC110 - 'Ken Meri' And since camber is your specialty...make one 'bippu' style cars (VIP style) such as this with extreme minus cambers,

Speaking of heavy transports..I too based my recent MOC on extra heavy duty transports, I particularly love European heavy hauler such as the bonneted Scania T-series totting 150 tons of load
-
That really does look like a 964, great job! I'm still trying to figure out how you did the camber setup... Now, how about doing the red 'Hachi roku' next to it as well? Front and rear camber, tires & wheels as 'hellaflushed' as possible

whenever I see someone's collections of this magnitude in such a broad timespan, the first thing I look for is the 8855 Seaplane! I almost burst into tears when I saw his..I used to own it when I was a dumb kid back in the '90, apparently failed to preserve it, so all the pieces had been scattered, and is currently nowhere within its former glory. but I did manage to salvage 80% of it and looking forward to rebuild it. Anyway, Technic airplane is pretty rare don't you guys think? Lego should make more airplane sets in the future...

Lubrificate Gears?
Out of Sight replied to leo81's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Hell yeah! There's a newfound 'torque' once everything is lubricated. I would avoid silicone spray though..the propelant inside the can may attack the Lego's plastic. 100% pure silicone is what's needed such as RC silicone shock oils..or Pamela Anderson's 'silicone enhancements' LOL kidding. Apply LIGHTLY to avoid mess on the gears, shafts, U-joints with small flat tip brush. -
I see..LOL, because all these times I've been 'driving' my 8043 on my bed or short carpets, so grip has never been an issue. Although the rubber band trick might kill some clacking noise when ran on hard surfaces. I should give it a try, I have a bunch of black rubber bands, so they should 'blend' with the dark grey colour.

Yeah I've always been fascinated with link treads in a Technic model. Forgive me for asking, but will a grippy treads lead to 'difficult' turning, ie more effort required to overcome the grip since these caterpillar treads skids to turn? The last time I saw 30 tonne excavator's treads, they're all steel without any sort of rubber, which is why they leave typical scuff marks when ran on pavement. Idk, just a thought tho..since they're mean to grip on soft soils.

Wow, this is an old thread of mine..thanks guys, I'm glad you find it usefull Anyway, for an even better bucket articulation and higher "load without spilling" loading capability, simply do this: swap the 1 x 7 liftarm which rotates the bucket to a 1 x 7 bent (4-4), like so... See what I mean...I doubt you can reach taller height, while keeping the bucket flat (load not spilled) in a stock 8043. It reaches higher loading height than even the 8265 biggest official Lego Technic loader I think Now the 8043 is a much more versatile 'tool' and could possibly put the 8265 out of commission hahaha

Very nice, it does look like a T5! I like the small details that you'd added, such as that typical 'wo' letterings on the plates..Stands for Wolfsburg right, the home of VW in Germany?
-
Nice one LT! I like the raised canopy, it makes sense, since there are a lot of trucks or even huge tour buses that need to top up after a long trip in the outback. Do you have the actual pic?

Great design! I like it a lot! The black white and white blue scheme represent the LAPD and NYPD if I'm correct?

The Eurobricks Reviewers Academy
Out of Sight replied to Bonaparte's topic in Forum Information and Help
I haven't actually done any reviews of official sets, but I'd done a 'presentation' of my MOC,here it is: Heavy haulage truck I'd sure love an opportunity to improve my presentations and reviews of official sets in the future. May I join this elite Academy? -
Haven't checked your thread for a while...this town project is certainly getting better and better and bigger! Just curious tho, how do you find the time to construct all these? Meanwhile I'll just sit tight and watch I haven't thought about any suggestions, I'm a little overwhelmed here, I need some time to think.

oh yeah...I actually own 3 of this. One is built as per the instruction, the other 2 are modified for different roles. The 3179 is a perfect platform for any kind of City duties, the simple cab chassis config just begs to be modified with other implements. It's also quite sturdy, so that adds a peace of mind when my 3 yo daughter kinda 'borrows' it for her Duplo scenes

The black stripes over yellow reminds me of a famous musclecar, the Hemi Cuda. How about a wider rear and narrower front wheels, for that pronounced 'pro-street' look. I always love traffic light drag races

I like the overall smooth aerodynamic shape. Was it modelled after a particular truck? It looks like a Kenny T800, with that sloping curved hood but flat faced grill. The 'teardrop' shape of the fenders reminds me of those classic 'pontoon'fenders found on 30's cars, so they give a slight retro feel to this truck, very well executed indeed! Just few suggestions: -the smokestacks should be placed 1 brick out on both sides if possible,so they're 6 wide. I think the current setup is too narrow and sort of blocks the rear view -2x2 round plate attached with axle pins for the front wheels, or 2x2 radar dish perhaps? -the 'empty' space beneath the door sills could be utilized for footsteps. -yes, as some had said..lights,lots of them! Great job overall! PS: you're the one who made that Octan road train if I recalled? how about an 8 wide road train? What kind of trailer did you have in mind?
-
Very nice, it looks like a Mustang Fastback with that raked rear window! The white racing stripe on blue further emphasizes its likeness
-
Very nice! I was wondering when you'd come up with a new creation..six wide truck to be precise Can the pipe clamps be lowered and raised like the real thing? I'm still looking for ideas for my next truck MOC, but the theme remains, heavy haulage. I plan to make a 8 wide FAUN prime mover, with a 6 wide cab.

A true minifig scale replica of a Mercedes Benz Actros..very well done indeed.
-
nice, i had just checked back on this post! It 'appropriately' looks like a true roadster now! Low hunkered down look..that venting on the top of the fenders reminds me of the TVR Sagaris any possibility for a coupe version?
-
I see many differing opinions so far, some like the truck some like the boat, and some don't like it at all. Well I'm in between, it's not bad actually, i kinda like the upright windscreen..looks like typical modern Euro cabover, heck looks like a Scania R series. if it came with doors, it would be perfect. I'll be getting this set merely just to add to the growing collection and my affection for six wide articulated truck. the color scheme and powerboat really sets it apart.

That's PHAT! Pretty Huge and Tempting! Did you build the interior/cargo bay? it would be neat since the purpose of this aircraft is to haul butt up in the sky. Which reminds me, this iconic aircraft was featured in the movie "2012", owned by the Russian tycoon. When all hell broke loose, only a Soviet built plane can survive the worst of mothernature Mother Russia vs Mother Nature!
