  1. I got mine few days ago. Supposedly it is the updated version, checking by the LA's stamps. All 4 on mine are '38X0', and with the new instruction manual. I'm currently in the process of building it. If you buy your Lego from an authorized Lego dealer, they most likely sell the updated #8043 on the shelf. I got mine from Bricksworld during my visit to Singapore. I don't think there's a way to distinguish the old one to the new one just by looking at the box or is there? Most authorized Lego dealers should have the updated #8043 by now, and most likely that's what you'll be getting.
  2. Many thanks for the warm welcome...I have a feeling this forum would be a great place to share our interest on Lego!
  3. Bought my 8043 set few days ago..38X0 on all LA's, similar to the service pack I guess
  4. Hello guys, I'm from Indonesia, an automotive product and graphic designer, married & father of 2 y.o girl. I've known Lego for a loong time..from 1985. I've always been fascinated by the Technic line-up, but I do have a few sets of Legoland too. However since Lego sets are quite expensive,I don't own a basement full of Lego sets like most of you probably do During my 31 years of lifetime (never too old for Lego right?? ) believe it or not, I only own 4..yes JUST four Technic sets!! Please don't laugh... Here they are: 1. #8851 Excavator (the neat pneumatic system is revoultionary back then) 2. #8855 Prop Seaplane (Seeing those stick operated flight controls and the moving single cylinder engine was just neat) This was 1991..after that I'd never bought a single Lego set. I was into another hobby, electric and nitro powered radio control car models, and diecast scale model cars collecting. All that changed in last March 2010 when my wife bought me a new Technic set during her visit to the Netherlands. It was #8047 Mini Excavator! I know, it's a very cheap and basic Technic..but since I'd been on a long 'hiatus', I thought about getting something easy first just to get back that old Lego 'feel'. So I found it rather too easy, but I do find many new parts that were unheard off during Technic sets of the 80's..body cowling?? I'm not a brick purist, so I do love anything that enchances a Lego model's aesthetics towards realism, yes even stickers! 3. #8047 (THE Technic set which brought me back into Lego after 20 years! It will always a special place in my heart, no matter how small and simple it is) Using common sense, I should be getting something a little more complex now that I'm getting back that familiar Technic sting and getting confident w/ my building skill. I said to myself looking at the 8047...hmmm I need bigger Excavator.. 4. #8043 Motorized Excavator flagship model!! Holy cow what did I get myself into?? I bought it just few days ago. Luckily it came with the updated Linear Actuator, to fix the recent #8043 issue. My wife and our daughter are asleep atm (11.40 pm local time).. !! Locked my room, cleaned out the table with all the #8043 parts sorted out, a pack of cigarette is standing by to calm the nerves between instruction booklets. Now let's get building, dammit!!! I'm looking forward to seeing Lego's 2011 Technic line up..to add to my collection! Regards, Bram
