Well the theme is very much like Knights Kingdom 2 (although much less medieval), so I could see it fitting in theme-wise. With new pieces and techniques, they could even look better.

Probably a techno-bear in Nexo Knights.

I think of myself as somewhere in the middle. I do look for sets to be well designed, and minifigures are a part of that. Theme greatly impacts minifigure design. As for building, I normally use a certain aesthetic in my own builds. This means that some colors are fairly useless to me. For example, I use dark red often, but rarely use normal red. In this way, even if a set has nice minifigures and cool new parts, it will be difficult for me to justify the purchase if I don't like the design of the set itself, or if it is largely made up of red bricks. Anyways, I don't really "hate" any LEGO sets either, but I do have a strong distaste for certain themes. I was not a fan of Chima, but I do own a few things from that product line. I'm not especially keen on Friends, and strongly oppose the existence of minidolls, yet I've purchased a few Friends sets (mostly animals) and Elves sets.

I think a lavender torso with black printing on the back would have looked better. But we take what we get.- 4,155 replies

Fair enough. I love the game, and the sets have some appeal, but I also find that some of the sets are more expensive per piece than other themes. I hate that about them.

Then maybe we should, I don't know, get back on topic or something?
-
It was a LEGO Store employee (or manager, or something) who indicated it would be like Fantasy Era. But let's get back on topic. What LEGO sets do you hate? As appiah4 put it, this is not a discussion about Nexo Knights. That said, I had a lot of interest in whatever LEGO was considering their next Castle theme. And when I saw that it was not a Castle theme, I was disappointed. And when I saw what we were getting instead, I was not happy with it. There are things I like about it, and I do try to keep positive in most threads concerning the theme, but overall I find it to be a let-down. But please, I shouldn't feel the need to explain myself. Let's get back on topic. What LEGO sets do you hate?

Well, early reports were about a Castle theme that was similar to Fantasy Era. This turned out to be Nexo Knights, which is anything but. As I mentioned earlier, I was far from the only one disappointed about this. I'm not trying to cut down the theme just on that alone. My post was about disliking the theme based on what it is. And I'm not just trying to find any chance to tear it down. This thread is about hated sets and those that caused controversy, so I felt that this was an appropriate place to discuss my feelings. I strongly dislike Nexo Knights, and acknowledge the controversy it created when announced. Is this thread for discussing sets you hate, or discussing the opinions of others that you disagree with? To the original poster, I apologize that this thread has become derailed by the disagreement (controversy) surrounding Nexo Knights. I think this is an interesting topic. I will endeavor to keep from any further discussion of the theme in this thread.

I agree with these statements. While I am a fan of Castle and feel that we were led to believe that we would get Castle sets (and yes, it was a disappointment), I am also simply not a fan of Nexo Knights. I appreciate that they were trying something different, but I do not like what they tried. The ideas are, in my opinion, awful.

At the LEGO Store near me (and the 2 TRUs), they don't seem to be selling many at all.

True, I just picked up a few Ash Attackers. But now I have useless parts, like the helmets, horns, and spiky shoulders. I'll use at least 1 head when I get my Imp Costume from the new CMFs. Also got some of the new shield pieces. But aside from some good parts, it's a contentious theme.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 16 Rumors and Discussion
x105Black replied to 8BrickMario's topic in Special LEGO Themes
He looks great. I will definitely buy many. But I can't help but be a little disappointed that they went with green while including the Wolfpack logo. Sorry, I can't stop myself from talking about this. Anyways, the Rogue is fantastic, and I can't wait to get them.
