I guess you mean 2007 and the sockets used in Toa Mahri Hahli and Lesovikk, since the new sockets were introduced in 2008, and ironically, all of my 2008 sockets are still fine (and I've got the Lewa set two times). And is it normal that double-sockets break? Because one of Gelu's Double-sockets broke while disassembling a MOC. Oh, before I almost forgot: Does it even makes sense to ask Lego about replacement, if those replacements were also tend to break again?
-
Before I ask anyway: Is there already a thread about the whole broken socket thing? I wonder which sockets tend to break and which not, because I got still the feeling my 2008 sockets are also pretty solid, while my 2009 sockets recently got snapperitis.

Almost thought so... so I must ask the next question: How is that dangerous for the Y-cup?
-
This guy looks pretty awesome. I got the same question.

How open are you about your Lego passion?
ZORK64 replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm 23 years old and I'm used to buy LEGO sets in toy stores or stores with a toys section. Since a Lego store opened here, I'm usually buy new sets there (unless I found older sets somewhere else with a neat price cut on it). Most of my close friends know that I'm an AFOL and they're cool with it although they don't share my enthusiasm for it. However, I must admit it's one of the few hobbies I don't tell new people if they ask me what I'm doing in my free time - even if those new people are familiar and cool with all the other nerdy hobbies I got, like video games, tabletop strategy battle games or pen'n'paper RPGs. It's kind of a bad habit. -
Same goes for Fire Lord. He also has a lovely pair of five-fingered hands in silver. I honestly recommend all MOCists out there to buy him. You might hate his design, but you're gonna love his pieces.
-
Hey, isn't that the MOC you used to show how you solved the issue with the open backs?
-
The tip of his tail looks kinda odd, but besides of this, he looks pretty cool.
-
I'm wondering about their release date. There stands "August 2011", but on the same pics, the release for Fire Lord and his buddies is "February 2011". Hmmm...
-
I've actually found a piece that fits perfect in my Droid Developer Kit, it's this one. How can I close that topic?

Whaaat?! The second 2011 line? Is it normal to see a new line that early?! For some odd reason, I have problems to zoom into them, but as far as I can tell, they look pretty cool. However, I'm not sure if and which of them I'm gonna get for MOCing. A few more thoughts: - I wonder if the heroes still use the same basic head piece like the 2.0 heroes, only with new helmets. - No new colours for limb pieces, they're all black. - Lil' Rocka's head reminds me of Meltdown... - ...same goes for big Rocka's head - I'm curious about Furno's weapon. And his shoulders. - Favourite hero: Again Stormer (well I like the colour white, and his heroic appearance). - Favourite bad guy: Dunno, the look all... weird. Well, I'm still waiting for more infos about that Hero Recon Team business.

Thanks, that could might work, but I'm not entirely sure if 3 studs aren't a bit too long. Hmmm... what kind of knife would you suggest? Wait a sec, I'm gonna make a photo... here. As you can see, the harpoon sticks a bit out there, but otherwise, it fits pretty well. The harpoon is something about 2 or 3 studs long, and I've got something about an half stud space left on the inner side of the armour. The tip of the harpoon is too large, so I can't turn it around.

(if I create that topic in the wrong forum, I'm sorry - I'm not sure where I should create it) I'm looking for a rod-like piece which is about the same size than a minifig harpoon. The light-saber beam rod is too long. I need it for a MOC which uses the new HF armour plates. I added a Bionicle piece onto them, and to hold that in position, I use currently a harpoon, but I was wondering if there is a piece of the same size which might look better on a knee. Is there any kind of piece you could suggest me?

I bought Stormer 2.0, DrillDozer and Fire Lord today at the Lego Store here, and I'm pretty happy with them. Sure, Fire Lord is a parts buy to me too, but all in all, he doesn't look that bad (except his upper legs, and the poseability of his arms isn't the best). I think I'll dissamble them in a few minutes and start MOCing like a lunatic.

The new HF sets hit shelves in Germany this week. With the sole exception of Stormer 2.0, the new heroes and the new villians (including Fire Lord) are available at Müller (a drug store, most of them also got sections for multimedia or toys). Each hero costs 9,99 €, the small villians 12,99 € and Fire Lord 19,99 €. I'm gonna get Drilldozer tomorrow and maybe Fire Lord, and - if I got lucky to find him at another Müller - Stormer 2.0. You guys can't even imagine how happy I am to get the new sets that early, since I was already afraid they won't be released here until march.

That reminds me to make some photos of that three-headed centaur monster-MOC I built some time ago and put them on MOCpages... but yeah, the new system would make things like this easier. When I look at the skeletons of the torsi, I wonder if I could use them as the basic for giant hands, but I'm not really skilled at building giant MOCs.
-
It's really neat to see all these animations again. I really love the animation of Stormer (both of them). I can't wait to get the new sets... -.-
-
Wasn't that already mentioned one page ago? Anyway, are there any news about the "Build your own Hero"-Business?
-
Looks pretty neat. And clever use of parts. It's really good for your first MOC.

Since I'm used to buy Lego (and other stuff aswell) rather in real stores than the internet, I didn't even knew about the Magnet Sets until a Lego Store opened here. Since then, I bought only two of the SW sets to get a few Minifigs, like Vader and a Scout Trooper. It's a pity that the figs gonna be glued onto the magnets, since that decision also makes the Magnet bricks harder to customize. But anyway, I'm more into Action Figures, so it's not a big loss to me.

About the Slizer waves: In Germany, the first eight Slizers were released at the same time here. Sub Slizer, Ice Slizer, City Slizer and Fire Slizer could build into one combiner, Judge Slizer, Jungle Slizer, Rock Slizer and Energy Slizer into another combiner. The second wave contained the Spark and the Flare Slizer and the two Titan sets, the Millenium Slizer and the Blaster Slizer. In the story, Judge, Jungle, Rock and Energy were killed when an asteroid crashed the Slizer Planet, and the bad guys from the second wave emerged from that asteroid (that also explains why Blaster Slizer's face is a mix of Judge's and Jungle's face). Because of this, only Sub, Ice, City and Fire (with changed names, if I remember that correct) were listed in the catalog along with the new ones (but it was still easy to get the other four in the stores). No, your post are always interesting. You shouldn't short them.

The hands looks kinda odd to me, but besides, this thing looks pretty cool.

Hmmm... yeah, that's right, I haven't thought of it that way. Well, I already fall in love with the skeleton pieces, especially the new limbs. They're actually the pieces I'm most excited about. They're awesome. So it's mostly the new armour system I need to get used to, but yeah, old armour pieces hadn't much more connection points (I suddenly remember the Toa Nuva armour... the shoulder thingies had only one connection point, and the torso armour only two). --- First Edit Oh, and I also care about Fire Lord because of all the pieces he has. --- Second Edit (Oh man, if my head wouldn't be attached to my neck, I'll probably forget it somewhere) Anything new about that "Build your own Hero"-Thing?
-
Great review. If the "Build your own hero"-thing doesn't mean I can also order several of the new HF-pieces in the colours I want, I'll probably get Stormer just for all the white pieces he has.
-
Great review! Due to his interesting parts, DrillDozer is my favourite Villian for now.
