  1. At first thanks to Zachattacx and Shakar for the clarification and the tip to memorize them. Okay, both Razan and Eris might become insta-buys, depending on wings and such. And I got just right now the glorious vision of building Optimus Primal, if Gorzan comes with the right parts to pull it off. When I'm thinking about it... Cragger could also might be a good template for BW Megatron, and Worriz has also good chances because of the wolf theme... so I most likely end up buying all of them except for Laval (unless he comes with really cool gear - I like him colour-wise, judging from the minifig pic).
  2. I'm sorry that I have to ask... but who is who in Legends of Chima again? I mean, which one of these is a lion, eagle, alligator...
  3. I was already expecting the brain slugs to be rubbery. They looked waaay too much like Kraata and those wormies from the Rahkshi to me. Now to the sets itself: - Breez' smile looks kinda derpy to me. Aside from that, she still comes with a fair share of lime and silver pieces. Not a must-have for me, but odds are good that I'll buy her anyway. - Bruizer's head looks kinda weird from that angle. But I still dig all the parts he comes with. I'll most likely get him. - Furno XL looks cool. As long as he's the same price as Stormer XL I'll get him with no doubt. - Ogrum looks even better than before. Still a Must-Have. - Scarox looks dull. Plus, I'm not too keen on gold parts. Pass. - Same goes for Rocka. Except for the sword, but that's not enough to convince me. - I don't know about Pyrox. The printed shell on his left thigh looks awesome though. But I'm honestly more curios about Legends of Chima.
  4. I think the visor attaches directly to the head, probably with an axle. I'd guess there would be also a connection at the top of the helmet, but Front jossed that.
  5. DAT SPINE Somewhere, two of my MOCs are sitting in a corner and crying, because their spines aren't as awesome as this one. But even aside from the spine, this MOC is glorious.
  6. After looking at the new pics I dare to make another wild guess: I think the helmets of the heroes attach in a Kanohi-esque way to the heads (connector on the front), while their visors are attached on the top of the head.
  7. To make it short, Shadow of the Colossus is one of the best games ever. And to make it a bit longer... it's an action adventure for the PS2 (got also an HD-Remake for the PS3) which tells the story of a young man named Wander who travelled on his horse Aggro to a mysterious forbidden land where he hopes to revive a dead girl (named Mono, though her name is never mentioned in-game, if memory serves me right) with the help of a mighty entity known as Dormin. To do so, he must locate 16 colossi (which are really, really huge) in the land and defeat them. While the story features a somewhat typical plot setting, the game breaks away from usual gameplay conventions of the genre (or most other games, for that matter) since it focuses only on the aspects of travelling through the land and fighting the colossi (which means, you have to figure out where their weakspots are and how you get to them, which includes mostly climbing on them or attacking them with your bow first), but it makes these few things absolutely perfect and combines them with a real engaging plot which (despite being totally linear) also manages to transport emotions in a very subtle way. For example, the music when you manage to bring down a colossi, is unlike the happy success melody you'll usually get when you defeat a boss in a video game, a real slow and melancholic track - the game doesn't celebrate the defeat of a boss, it mourns the death of a creature. A creature you killed, even if they don't care about you at first (though some of them attack Wander as soon they see him). But the game still doesn't force you to feel bad for the colossi, that strange sort of guilt happens from self (or not, depending on how you feel for those giant guys). I guess you're now wondering why I would mention a game like SotC as an inspiration for a Hero Factory game. Well I did so because when I was thinking about interesting and challenging fights, SotC was the first game that came to my mind. So in short, there isn't reall a connection between these two. XD Well yeah, that comes closer to my idea as well. Same could of course also work for the heroes, with Furno's flame-based weaponry or Stringer's sonic blasters. By the way, since I also own Soul Calibur V I can totally see how you got the idea for an HF fighting game. The character creation from SCV is also one of my favourite features of the game (partly because V was lacking in a few other areas).
  8. I was able to remember Galidor and to question myself if it would count as constraction theme, but it was licensed. And I don't even own anything from Galidor. But Knight's Kingdom actually slipped my mind, despite owning the King Jayko set. Oh the irony. But actually, yeah... well it would be the first one with ball joints and a more Technic-oriented approach. On a sidenote, I think that the aesthethic of HF don't go that well with human characters anyway, but the animal knight thing could kinda work.
  9. Well I'll start crossing fingers that pictures show up soon. By the way, I just recently realized that LoC would be the first original constraction figure line which wouldn't feature robots.
  10. Just a wild guess here - is it possible that Legends of Chima's construction figure line will become the HF replacement? But I'm looking forward to Legends of Chima. Mostly because of the eagles, they would combine everything I totally love: Wings, white and blue parts. I also agree on a separate topic for it. After all, we should look forward to the Brain slugs for now.
  11. I think Hero Factory would work better as an Action-Adventure rather than a Beat'em'Up. Just imagine you could design your own specific heroes and go on missions to catch various bad guys in a somewhat open world. The fights with the villians could be challenging and complex, similiar to those in Shadow of the Colossus (only that the bad guys are at a smaller scale, of course).
  12. Ultrabuild Iron Man had some sort of shoulder-mounted gatling gun. It was gold and trans-blue however, so it looked like it would fire lasers, so it wouldn't be impossible for LEGO to put something machine gun like in a HF-set as long as it doesn't look too much like a real gun. I guess they didn't went with that idea due because it would give Bulk too many parts for his pricepoint. Stringer's primary colour will most likely be black, unless Surge or Nex get a new primary colour. As for his secondary colour, I would prefer blue since it's a bit rarer than orange these days. But orange is a stronger contrast to black, so maybe he'll be orange again. Hmmm... (in the meantime, I'll cross my fingers that Stringer's secondary colour will become azure)
  13. I'd be quite surprised if the visor and the helmet are actually one piece. If so, the visor and the helmet had to be assembled before retail since I hardly doubt it's one mold for both the transparent and the solid parts, but LEGO almost never sells parts who are assembled in such a way (the only one I could think of right now would be the heads for the Ben10 and Ultrabuild Super Heroes, where the socket and the head are connected with a screw). Since helmet and visor are apparently not connected with each other, I guess the visor is attached to the back of the head. That could mean a new head mold, since I have now idea how the Iron Man head is supposed to connect with the visor and the helmet.
  14. That reminds me of a Transformers knockoff I recently won at a fair. After some research it turned out to be an official mold, but the plastic of the knockoff was very brittle and smelled weird. A few joints broke during transformation. Fortunately, knockoffs like these are anyting but common in German toy stores.
  15. So, not only Eurobricks is back online, there are also finally first pics of the new HF toyline. Today is a good day for LEGO. ^^ First of all, the name of the new theme (Brain Attacks) sounds quite gruesome. But it reminds me of the Bohrok and the Rahkshi, and it's a nice twist to give the bad guys the items with the game points now. Another thing I really like about this wave is how colourful it is. The current wave was mostly silver, black and a few bits orange here and there (the only sets who really stand out colour-wise were Speeda Demon and Stringer), but this wave got a nice mix of bright, dark and vibrant colours. It even makes me forgive the lack of a blue set in this wave (I can live with not having a white set in this wave since we got Stormer XL in the current). But now to the sets itself: Breez looks fantastic. I know, if someone complains about "too much lime green" here, it's me, but I can't help it. Her design is just too cool. Bruizer looks also very cool. I already liked the rock theme of other sets (like Stronius back then), and he kinda reminds me of the rock guys in Rayman Origins, which is also a plus point. Bulk however is underwhelming. His armour looks somewhat generic too me, and his drill tool would need some sort of engine to look good. Furno XL looks really, really cool. He comes with nice new parts, an overall good design and he also apparently solves a few of the problems Stormer XL suffered from (like short arms). Most likely a must buy for me. Ogrum looked first a bit weird to me, but after looking at him again, he really starts growing on me. His mask/helmet/face looks like some sort of japanese demon (in other words, he reminds me of some monsters from Okami) crossbreeded with an orc, and he also comes with dark green parts, which makes me really happy. Oh, he also comes with brown pieces, which is also nice, but not overwhelming for me. Pyrox' head looks weird too me, but he's apparently dark red and it seems like he's using XT4's short torso. I might buy him when he goes on sales. Rocka looks really dull. Perhaps he got some cool stuff under his shield, but if not, the only interesting thing about him is his green sword. Scarox' alienbug-head looks cool, but I'm not too keen on his colours. As far as I can tell from the pictures, the new wave looks good. It got a few cool sets and a healthy dose of new parts and appealing recolours. I'm looking forward to their release.
  16. Took me some time, but I finally got around to take pictures and upload them. Anyway, here's Titan Stormer.
  17. Great MOCs overall! I think my favourites are the Rahkshi and the Judge Slizer. I'd love to see your take on the Blaster Slizer. I also like Makuta. The mask you picked is also a good alternative to his regular head.
  18. I'm totally with Aanchir on the glowing hero cores. I'd also like to see more pieces in medium azure. Same goes for bright green (that was the name of Green Lantern's green, right?).
  19. That's kinda odd. SD is pretty common here in Germany. As for the "bait" trick: That one doesn't hold true to German stores. They always put in the shelves what they got.
  20. No, but someone else did when the grim reaper idea was mentioned. Just as I said, I never thought of Vezon as a grim reaper. I never saw a resemblance there. And yeah, _shadow_'s mod on Stringer is glorious. If the guitar of my Stringer hadn't got a new design for the upper part, I'd use the same idea.
  21. I second both statements. Skeletons are way cooler than dull zombies, and Ice-themed stuff would be cool. But I think undead characters wouldn't work well in Hero Factory anyway. Except a grim reaper. Though I gotta admit, I never interpreted that Piraka guy as a grim reaper, simply because his cape was lacking a hood.
  22. I'll apologize in advance, but I'll have to go a bit off-topic... I like robots in general, and although I missed a huge number of Transformers franchises (pretty much everything between Beast Wars and the Bayformers) I got hooked into it again thanks to Transformers Prime (and War for Cybertron, though I got the game just a few months ago). I'd say the Terrorcons were rather brownish than green, although there is some green here and there too. The in-universe justification for that would be that dead cybertronians rusts over time, and aesthetically, I think the show designers wanted to emphasize the zombie-aspect of the Terrorcons.
  23. As for future waves, I don't need a whole line for one specific theme. I liked the way how the Breakout line mixed various themes and designs. In addition to that, I definitely DON'T want zombies. It's not because I'm not a great fan of the whole zombie thing in general (because robot zombies are kinda cool, as seen in Transformers Prime), but also because everything gets zombies nowadays. A Grim Reaper-styled villain would be cool though.
  24. Yes, the new Stormer is done. I'll take pictures once I've recovered from that cold I have just right now. But once I have, I'll most likely post them on MOCpages. However, don't expect a totally mindblowing clever new build. In fact, the upper torso of my Stormer is simpler than that from Stormer XL (I also ditched the new chest piece).
  25. Very nice review, and great pictures too! As far as Core Hunter goes, I'm a bit torn about him. On one side, I really dig his overall design. On the other, he doesn't come with enough interesting pieces for MOCing in my eyes. However, sometimes I do buy sets just because they look good, so yeah...
