Those were the last days before I came into my dark ages.... :'-(

Ooooohhh... I'm beginning to understand I think.... Phes, have you ever heard of "Exo-Force"? You probably should start coming out of your Pirates forum and looking at all those wonderful things Lego gave us lately!!! ;-) :-P

Don't think so. Manga Kids never have beards, at least I can't remember any. In those stories only the wise, 200 year old men, has loooong beards.... If Star Wars were japanese, Yoda surely had a beard too! *yoda* :-D
-
I'm pretty sure it's because he has no beard... *n*

HASc-2 Miaplacidus: This was meant as a quick build to get the time passing, but somehow it needed much more time than usual. There are two reasons for it: a) This set has only few useful pieces that SNOT constructions need (zero L1 Technic pins!!! |-/ ) and b) the most basic parts coming with it are plates, so a SNOT construction is almost the only way to create a good looking, 3-dimensional ship out of the parts! :-/ I started making the wings in classic style, no SNOT or whatever, just two plates with bricks inbetween. For getting them into the angle I wanted I had to use a small trick: Rubber band! The cockpit itself is kinda.... Bah!... After making the wings there really weren't anything useful left. So it's just a bunch of leftovers thrown together... :-$ More pics after Brickshelf Moderation! Opinions welcome! :-)

Yeah, right. Though only if they are not more than 4 Euro each! ;-)

Review: 7782 Batman - The Batwing: Joker's Aerial Assault

On small idea for better pictures the next time: Buy yourself a huge sheet of white paper (maybe 1 x 1,5 meters) and place it like the attached image shows beneath and behind the thing you want to photorgraph! This way you won't have any annyoing shelves or doors or wood structures distracting from your main object! ;-) -
Can anyone bring two times the latest racer wave? (8666, 8661, 8664, 8663) 8-|

Baby-A-Wing!!!!!!!!!!! :-D I think this is a cute craft! *wub* Kinda like the 7 year old couch patato kid among the starships! :-D Is missing some details (greeeeblies!!! >:-) ) at the bottom though! ;-)

I'm not a huge fan of the "art" of it, but we have the tradition to meet with some friends, have a barbeque and watch the show all together! Always great fun! *sing*

I had seen them and as far there were some "adult based jokes" in them, right? I actually don't think the Mods of Brickshelf look too close to the files they are uploading, as long as they can see some Lego or community related contents of the images they are uploading them. BUT: People hanging around there and looking at the recent pages can e-Mail them and asking them to remove particular things. And since some of them have really strict opinions of what one should see and what isn't good for the health of their brains such things often are deleted after some while. Best is to e-Mail to the BS staff and ask why (and which in particular) of your pictures weren't allowed...

Review: 7781 Batman - The Batmobile: Two Face's Escape
ApophisV replied to The Middleman's topic in LEGO Licensed
Maybe he stole the van, repainted it and added some tiny toys. And leaving the logo of the bank on it could be to tease them ("Hey hey, I stole your car and am still driving with it in front of your eyes!!!") ;-) BTW, I noticed that the gangsters from this set and the one with Joker have the same faces. Now THIS is odd in my opinion since there are several other cool "evil" faces they could have used... |-/ -
I think one can't reduce the reasons down to one. First of all, the "story" behind it is appealing to kids, it became a hype like Pokemon, Yo-Gi-Oh or what the heck all those things are called. All those Japanese styled monsters and such are just "in". Then, it is easy to make kids "obsessed" by a collective toy, especially by adding "collect all sets and get the toa-pio-loa-luauo-punki-kraki for free!". Kids don't know the value of an Euro or a Dollar yet (and btw don't strugle with debts and bills and whatsever) and therefore the don't see the problem in spending it for ten sets which are afterall basically identically. Finally I think the infrastructure around Bionicle is also more established than for any other Lego product. Kids easily have access to magazins, online portals, movies, games and advertisements. Sure that is also all available for other products, but it's not as easy to find and to use for kids (finally the whole Lego community besides one or two exceptions (BZP) is mostly teenager/adult based (Lugnet,...) And why don't kids buy anymore System sets? When I was younger (ten years ago or so) I always had the chance to get sets for my money. If I had 20 Euro (back then ~ 40 DM) to spend - fine, lots of sets available. If I had only one or two Euro - also fine since there were several tiny sets for this price, even if it was only a Minifig with a sword and a gold chest. Nowadays there is almost no set with real playvalue left that is below 5 or 10 Euro (Think of the last HP sets, none below 25 Euro!!!!). An amount of money many kids get per month at that age! My 2 Euro-ct.

I agree with this, this discussion doesn't belong here and I am pretty sure that letting this thread open would lead to arguments most people would regret after calming down again. Sweden, I'm not completely sure what you mean by this whole "EB is become FBTB" (especially in which particular aspects), but I don't think this discussion belongs into a public thread. I would be happy if you could drop me a PM and tell me what exactly you are worried / angry about, so maybe we can find a reasonable solution together. After two years of being a member of Eurobricks by heart I have the honest opinion that 99% of the members of our community (including the staff!) are open hearted, friendly and honest people, sure they are often somewhat childish and kidding each other in friendly ways all over the place, but this is one "general character trait" of the our community that always existed and that we hopefully never loose! Nonetheless, we still aren't perfect and we know this. And we sure consider any opinion, even those that are telling us "Hey, you are doing something wrong!" - as long as it doesn't come packaged as a personal attack to a particular person. So... what did I try to say with this paragraphs?! *wacko* Erm... yeah... Please write me a PM about the particular problems you see so that it can be discussed within our staff to work out a solution for it! This isn't meant as a personal attack on you, actually I always am happy about feedback even if it's not positive and I would be happy to see you feeling more comfortable here in the future again! -Apo

Check if the names of your files use spaces. If so, remove them (delete them or replace the space with a " _ " ) That is at least my most common problem ;-)
-
I thought about exactly the same some hours ago... *sweet*
-
After some research it REALLY looks klingon!! ;-)
-
As you wish, my Master *vader* Code: * vader * (without of spaces) Those are two alternate versions of the smilie, please let me know which you like best!
-
Great, I haven't the ct-tank yet, so this might be my chance to finally get it! :-D
-
Looks Klingon! *knight* EDIT: Oookay, I just noticed the "plate sideways between two studs" part! (The lime green 1x4 plates behind the ribs!) It took me a while to figure this out! Looks really great! *y*

StarGate:SG1 and StarGate:Atlantis
ApophisV replied to Peoples_General's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I din't think anybody expects you to do anything. But maybe you should keep in mind that you could have watched one of the worse episodes (and if I remember correctly the only really cool thing at that Episode was this gate-sized Deathglider *knight* *notes it on to-build list*). Every series has its great episodes and also some really bad ones (think e.g. of the whole first season of Star Trek Voyager), and there is always the chance that somebody watches one of the weaker ones as the first episode... Stargate IS a great series, it has cool action, great character design, cool sets and props and a really deep and also "realistic and believable" (regarding it's a Sci-Fi series) story. It sure is worth to give it a try, and there sure is more than enough low-quality stuff on TV one could drop one or two times to watch some episodes of Stargate instead! ;-)
