  1. I've been trying to use those microfigs for something too. I originally just had them jousting on pigs, but then that entire idea fell apart. I'm glad to see somebody is able to utilize the microfigs extremely well. :) I love the shudders in window arch piece as doors, way more creative then I would ever be. :) Great job and I hope you'll continue making great MOCs.
  2. I'm afraid I am not an inter-dimensional being that preys upon young children, "The Penguin" :)

  3. is preparing for a voyage to Skyloft!

  4. That ctulhuloid is quite the looker.
  5. Just something that popped into my head; An detailed index of all of the LEGO factions to the present day? There's a short index over at Classic-Castle that pretty much covered most in a not so detailed manner. However, the index here could include all of the factions, all of the minifiguresm and what sets came with them. Does that sound like a good idea to anybody else besides me? this is one of my "early morning" ideas.
  6. Can't wait. While I've got the rest of the main staples for villages down (I think. ) I could never get landscaping the way I'd like to. I'll be sure to check back on this thread for your views on such a difficult (at least for me) part of the MOC.
  7. That shield is absolutely beautiful. Not to mention everything else is fantastic as well. Keep up the great work.
  8. I agree. A medieval Middle Eastern theme would be a nice change. Gives the Crusaders an official enemy. But I too see the difficulties in that. While historical, it seems like a very difficult theme to properly show without controversy.
  9. All of these articles are excellent! And I too was surprised that you got two posts out in just a few days, but it was well worth the read. Keep up the excellent work.
  10. Those two were my first minifigures. Your opening post saves me the time of finding them, thanks.
  11. Well, standard infantry wore what they could afford. Whether they were extremely poor and had just the clothes on their back, or they were a somewhat rich farmer who could afford a hauberk, they wore what they had. Surcoats were mostly used by knights (who are far richer and noble than mere peasants) but if a peasant had the money, who was stopping him? :) I feel it's fitting to mention that my army and Castle world is based off of what a 12th century world would look like. Meaning that the only helmets I use are the Nasal Helm, the Kettle helm, an (if I had any) the bullet helm. Granted the Great Helm was created around the end of the 12th century, my Castle world is during the early-to-mid 12th century. And for the torso with "only the surcoat" if you look under the newer versions (Kingdoms, but I believe the Crownie's surcoat had this too) you can see that they indeed are wearing chainmail underneath it. :)
  12. Currently, only 2 main factions, but that is subject to change. The knights of Oland (Dragon Kingdom) and the knights of Gents (Lion Kingdom). However, I do have 2 or 3 Crownies lying about, they could become their own faction if I ever get more of them. And of course when new factions are released, those will be pulled into the world alongside the current ones. :)
  13. I really like that "archer" design. Very well done. Fits in perfectly with the current Kingdoms line. :)
  14. Yes, there are more photos on the Brickshelf. At the time though, it was kind of hard for me to take good photos, I had to deal with the rest of my worktable at the same time making sure this wasn't going to fall off. Thank you for the comment. :)
  15. Hello. Today I am presenting (after about a month of fiddling around with the MOC itself) Luth, a 12th century village with a small keep within my Castle world. Description (from my Flickr): Along the edges of Oland territory lie many villages with keeps built for lesser Lords. However, King Peter I took it upon himself to reside in one of these small keeps rather than the Royal Castle. Due to this, one can clearly see why he was given the epithet "The Humble." This scene details the King's move into the keep in 1158. Luth village features strange skull fruit, a lost Hylian boy, High Medieval Romance, assassins, and much more (not that much more, don't get your hopes up.) http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=478414 C&C welcome. Enjoy. :)
  16. Funny, as I was reading this, I turn to look and on the TV is Tom and Jerry battling it out Western style. I'll be sure to take part in this contest, sounds like there are some great prizes and it sounds like a fun contest overall. :)
  17. 2 more Prison Carriage Rescue (I think that's no. 19 and 20.) 1 more Blacksmith Attack 1 more Knight's Showdown
  18. Wow! I only used the Knights of either faction with either the tunic or the plain mail since I make my creations historically accurate, and this makes me VERY envious of you. I've only got about 20 or so of those. :( Anyways, I haven't bought anything since my last post, but tomorrow I'm going to the LEGO store and plan on picking up some more Blacksmith Attacks (black chaperon! :) ) and maybe the new King's Carriage set for the Sword, Crown, and Ermine torso. Wish me luck!
  19. The black hood usage is amazing. And if this were an impulse set, I would have to buy tons of them. :) Fantastic job.
  20. Wow, as others have stated, the Reek is absolutely stunning. Looks extremely organic and very to scale. I will be eagerly awaiting the Nexu, which has always been my favorite of the trio. :)
  21. Great review. I have loved this set since I bought it first, over 16 copies ago! :) Cheap, comes with some very nice minifigs, and of course a nice black horse!
  22. Today I went to Toys R Us, and I purchased two Blacksmith Attacks (total of 3) and 1 more Prison Carriage Rescue (total of 17). A great buy, I think.
  23. Fantastic creation. The idea is a fun one and you executed it perfectly. The different landscapes, the triangular shape, and the shields on the actual tower marking which kingdom was which, they all work together perfectly!
  24. Being that I have picked up over 15 Prison Carriage rescue, I have seen that face with a lighter beard as well. I think it is just a misprint. Maybe a variant though, since you got it in the mill set. Needless to say, it's nice to have variety after you have over 15 copies of the same head.
  25. Wow! I don't know how you can keep coming up with fresh ideas with these cities, while still keeping familiar ideas intact, but it's just amazing! I can't wait to see more progress, as always. :)
