I choose black rims with these black 4x4 round bricks: You need to wait until the folder is published. Perhaps you can see the image at my flickr-account

I had only one single problem with the Unimog. Its claw doesn't reach the ground! So picking up things lying on the floor was impossible. Therefore one can move the pneumatic cylinder one hole down on the red 9L beam. Now it touches the ground and picking up huge lego trees or pipes makes so much more fun. Yes, I play with my Unimog...

suspension 8110 unimog
Krize replied to rab's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Same here, but I have the bending-problem with the right-front-suspension strut (the side with the motor and the pump). While tilting the Unimog to the right side, the suspension strut doesn't "compress" but bends 1-2 millimeter forwards. Sometimes it seems being shortly befor breaking. Is this due to the Offset? The left-front-suspension works fine. -

Thank you! Of course, "power-supply" from the top and steering is missing, but this was not my goal (until now ). My goal was first to create a structure that can oscillate, raised by pneumatics and is supsended, because there was the question if suspension OR pneumatics can be used. So I ask myself, why not use both independendly at the same time. Now, the next step is to build a frame providing power from the top and steering (btw: Nazgarot, I like your steering design, probably I'll copy it (if I'm able to)).

Again, you were right and again, here's my next try . The whole lower diffcase can swing/move. All 3 H-beams can oscillate. Pivot point for oscillation is the axle with the two tan bevel gears. The pneumatic cylinder has the same pivot point. Because of the very small angle the suspension has, the two bevels (20t tan double bevel and a hidden black 12t double bevel gear below (which goes to the diff)) work fine even at max. angle (see picture). So this construction has a suspension, can oscillate and can be raised by pneumatics. edit: you can also put the springs inside the H-beams (left side of the picture where you have several two hole pairs unused)

My goal was to create a suspension system for each wheel being indepent from the pneumatic lifting system. So there is no need for an oscillating movement anymore. And the suspension even works if the pneumatic cylinder is fully extended. The yellow 1/2 bush indicates the position of the 3L diff (which I currently don't have). The driven axle is shifted 2 holes via two double bevels. But I'm not sure if this construction is too weak... . I was inspired by Jennifer Clark's suspension system for her Demag-crane.

As Erik Leppen suggests last year I would go for an orange garbage truck, too. The truck should have both a system on the back to empty the bins and a system like the 8479 Scanner truck has and you could switch between these two modes, like TLC did with the unimog. In the front TLC could use some pneumatics. Of course, it should have a tipping function (with the use of 2 big LAs) to unload the bricks. Like TLC did with Unimog, you could switch between compressor mode (to handle the pneumatic front arm) and the "rear mode" (emptying the garbage bins and tipping the whole big container). I think there no need to make it fully remote controlled. So, we would get more and perhaps new orange parts, TLC could use the new "torque tube" as well. The truck should be fully suspended, too, perhaps with a new kind of leaf spring for the rear. BTW, Mercedes Benz did some nice garbage trucks, too.

Can't see the video, too! It is possible to fix this? BTW: Truly AWESOME! One of the best and detailed Lego-creation on earth. There's nothing to add...

Agreed. I did the same. I ordered a couple of Power Function pieces and the small PotC Set to reach the 55€. The ARF-Trooper was listed and hopefully I'll get the poster, too.

Haha, that's really funny that you posted my "pyramide" (sorry, I did't know the proper word for this thing in other countries), cause I didn't had the courage to post this here in the Star Wars forum. But finding it here in the technic forum, cause it works with power functions, is really cool and makes me . This one was an improvement of the . But as you can see in the latest version, the movement of this carousel is NOT that smooth compared to the first try. This version worked (i had to destroy it to get the bricks for other MOCs) with 2 M-motors. The technical part is kept VERY easy. However, thanks a lot, DLuders, for showing my (a bit late) interpretation of a "christmas candle carousel" (should i change the name on brickshelf?). edit: Here's the youtube , probably faster.

Wow, you're making huge progress. Love, how you did the rusty look at the front top of that immense vehicle. The Power cells on side look so fantastic... so "real", like in the cross-sections The kind of "exhaust" (don't know what these are) on the top rear are well designed. So stop thinking about the money, just keep on building.. Can't wait to see the final crawler.

Thank you, CopMike, for this awesome raffle! Here is my entry, a tan container carrying hazardous goods. The small photo in the left upper corner shows the back. Good luck everyone! ...i just added the "feet", they don't count to the height

WOW, great MOC. Tatooine is my favourite planet and i love to see scenes like yours. I like the "junkshops", the speeder and the use of tiles. Is it possible to make some more detailed fotos (e.g. back of the cantina)?
-
Yes, I'd love the build your Bantha for my Tatooine-Diorama. The Size is well chosen and the "face" (the hardest part imo) is done perfectly! Great work.

Haha, yeah you're right. The first thing I do in the morning is turning on my pc and browsing through the EB-universe. AFTER THAT, I take a shower... . Of course, I'll have look at the pinned topics for the newcomers. Editing my profile is beside the point, main thing is to learn something about the lego-universe and to improve my building abilities. So guys, thank you for your friendly welcome-posts and I'll do my best to have a live apart from EB, hehe.
