EDIT:UPDATED PHOTOS ON SECOND PAGE. Fallenangel told me several times that if i really wanted to perfect this model I would have to go up in scale, and after a few rough sketches, little bit of VLD(Virtual lego design...in my head ) I've put this together. If you don't know what a BARC is, or want a closer look, here is my main reference picture: To me this is one of the most elegant and beautiful vehicles in the saga. With that being said it is close to impossible to capture all of its curves, tapers, and details at minifig scale. Many have tried, I've given it 6 attempts and realized it couldn't be done. Probably the most difficult elements would be the doming backside and the region where the Biker would sit. At UCS scale I knew that all those portions would be doable. So anyways here is my model: At minifig scale the widening front section could be represented, but not well. I've made it seven studs wide. The lightings a bit odd in this shot, but it shows the proportions of the model. You can also see sloping section under the doming backside. Here are the handlebars, undoubtedly my favorite part I loved how I could actually fit the two pairs in, and not just a half-way-there attempt like on my minifig-scale one. I used plates to make the back dome, and did the same for the rear repulsor lifts. And lastly a view of the front: Thanks for looking! I hoped you liked it, remember I always appreciate it if you include what you didn't like, in addition to what you did like. One last thing-Because this is purely meant accurately represent the speeder that I shared a picture off, that appeared in Revenge of the Sith, comments like 'needs more color' aren't welcome. I don't consider criticism constructive if it's not helping me reach my ultimate goal accuracy. Hence, only constructive criticism please.

You know, that was actually one of the early indicators of how smart luke is. I have the original VHS of ANH, and I don't think I'll 'upgrade' to the 'special' edition any time soon.
-
Yes churchill I will be making it a foot long. That's the only way to get all the proportions exactly correct. The whole back section will be SNOT with plates coming off the side to absolutely nail the side taper. And I can greeble blasters the I'm in my happy place...I'm like a kid on christmas morning. I'm so obsessed

This is my minifig scale model, once it's perfected to the best of my abilities I intend to go UCS. I've already started planning that model. I'll give you a more in depth reply via PM. I'll probably have to resort to making a post in the trading forum so I can get my hands on some specific Brickarms weapons.

What? Fallenangel made a four word post on a model with physical inaccuracies? More have you to say?

1x2 Black plate underneath his torso does the job My Brickdoctor has already diagnosed me with a rare occurance of 'Obsessive compulsive BARC disorder', I went to rehab but there's no hope. I'll stop when it's finished, besides with more renditions only good things can come. Before you know it I'll have a section of the MOC index dedicated to me

A minifig sits the same way as on my previous one Thanks.

It's a shame that it seems a lot of builders and viewers are just stoppong by and voting on the poll. Would you guys mind writing out a full reply? Especially one that includes criticism. Actually it's possible I will do 10+ versions. I would really like to make some custom parts. At some point I will experiment with shaving bricks then sanding them to create elements for the BARC. What really disappoints me is that TLGs builders have this option but don't exploit it for the best of their models. To be honest, the section where I have a 1x12 light Bley plate as a base needs a custom piece to be perfect. The more I look at it the more I want to smash it-I'm going sort of psycho because some of the curves on it are near impossible to recreate. But thanks Prateek.

Well there's a small wire that should run down the front, the pedals need to be re-worked, and I need to find 2 brown hands for the baster-fins on the back. I also need to find a way to fit a clone light helmet attachment on to the top of the back section. I also need to make a custom part in addition to some brickarms U-clips to make the attachment on the front blasters. And I'm still debating what custom weapon to use for the blasters themselves...I'm going a bit insane, eh? Anything to add?
-
I have to say that TLGs cockpit is not the way to go. It should continue with the same slope as the mid portion of the nose. Your best bet would be something like what Brickdoctor did IMO.
-
I do too. All the people that replied on previous model said they wanted it to be longer, I suppose that this is to please the common demand. You said you thought I need another version on the poll, to make it shorter again? Or because of other inaccuracies?
-
Very nice Legostein! I like your piece choice for the cockpit, and the jewels are a wonderful touch. Great stuff! Oh and clever use of the jumper plate at the front.

Oh, thanks neyo. -
They're confused because of the 'First MOC but is it cheating?' topic. Guys a MOC means you assembled legos in your own way to creat something representing another element. This is a MOC. The other one was just a Dio because it was real sets on sand, it was cool, but not a MOC. I like what you've done here-A little busy/random, but good.

Hmmmm, I think cody shows some emotion, as he was an ARC before he commanded the 212. Remember in the cidatel when Cody glanced back and said 'That was hot-shot'. I'm not sure about Rex though, he seems not to care. -

It's been confirmed that though 2011-2020 star wars sets will be produced. -
The BARC speeder, as some of you may know, has become my number one obsession. I have experimented with many techniques to best capture as much detail as possible. This MOC is sort of an all-star team of all the techniques and designs I have acquired though hours of experimenting and trial and error. Over the course of my past versions many builders have offered extremely helpful constructive criticisms that have brought this model to the point it's at now. I hope you like it, and enjoy! So, here's the main Pic of the completed model: My main goal was to make it as realistic as possible. Including double handlebars, supportive fig pedals, a pair of blasters on the front, and one above both repulsors, the slope below the back, the rounded front portion, the bar the slopes down the middle, dark grey pieces on the bottom of the repulsors and an accurate minifig position. If a stud=1 foot then a BARC should be 14.3 feet long:Mine is 14 studs and 1 third of a stud long If you want to make my BARC with your collection, here's a cutaway of the whole model. Back view: Side view: Top view: More in depth cutaway photos at my brickshelf. C&C welcome, however remember this model is based off of the BARC that appeared in Sith and no other. Thanks for looking, -Brickartist.

Word up Hey Jammie, you've gotta wack Oky on how nerdy it is to own a suit of full TCW Obi-Wan armor. I wonder how much he spent on that, I'm hoping less than $100

All ARCs still have to go through a training program. It's obvious that they do develop feelings, seeing as Fives yelled out "ECHO!", or when they both clutched 99 when he was shot down. -

Actually ARC troopers are made to be more independent, and reliant on each other to make the small squads more effective. There was a squadron or ARC troopers who refused to fire on their jedi general, proving they could show attachment. -
Wow that's great! I love the field, the use of the red snake, and the cotton looks fantastic. I also like the cannonballs flying across the battlefield.

Hello everyone. After receiving a lot of mixed feedback on this model I have now decided to revisit the BARC. This model will be to please what seems to be the common request-It needs to be longer. I did the math, and I suppose you guys were right, I'll make it 14 studs long. I also intend to capture the guns on the front, taper on the underside of the back, and small brown fins on the guns. Anything else you guys would like this model to incorporate? Thanks.

Chewbaccas blaster should be a megaphone

I really hope they didn't kill him, after all we didn't see his body. I wanted those two to become as prominent as Rex, and Cody.
