@Windusky @Kai NRG @don leopold @Umbra-Manis @Merc4Hire @TitusV Thank you guys! Thanks! Agreed, Jaapxaap did a great job with the supportive stilt construction! Personally, I found it very satisfying how well the carrot tops fit on the 1x2 sloped tiles, only by virtue of their asymmetry. Yes, Zotharith is about halfway between Lith My'Athar and the Reach on the updated map, see the first post of the Nocturnus Guild thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/85716-book-ii-nocturnus-guild-sign-up-and-discussion/ I should do a proper overarching topic thread for the City of Zotharith, sometime. Thank you! I think those horn decorations are going to become a signature feature of Zotharian architecture. You can ask @jaapxaap about that, fine with me! Alphen a/d Rijn, where Jaap lives, isn't too far from Eindhoven, even by public transport. I live in Hoek (in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen), so I traveled about 6,5 hours total that day... At least I traveled for free, student life...

Ah, nice. The earlier they release, the earlier the discounts are coming our way!

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
Exetrius replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
I got the free-with-purchase Kiss Kiss Tuxedo Batman polybag today (from brickshop.nl), it was surprising to me that the kisses are also on the arms, side of the legs and the back of the torso as well, very neat. Not sure what to do with it though, as I'm not into keychains or Batman, really. It's still sealed btw. -
Well, is the (regular) LEGO catalog official enough, to your taste? The Dutch one states it's releasing in March, so I suppose that will be the same for the rest of Europe and possibly other countries too.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion

In one of the Mixels, from the space tribe (don't know a name or wave right now). Anyone know where to get the Phantom zone and Target practice polybags in the Netherlands? -
LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion

Oh that's too bad, as having only glaive feels incomplete to me. It's odd, because they did include an extra Anacondrai sword in ToE sets and the Ghost wave had spare ghostly blades... Guess I'm just spoiled! -

I'm curious: are any of the new weapons included as spare parts, like the time glaives or the Vermillion swords? -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

That sure is true! I wanted to buy this hairpiece (from 41134: Heartlake Performance School): But then I discovered that it had a price of about 10€... Really a bummer, as it is such a nice piece and I felt lucky to find it on B&P. Btw, here's my latest order, just before the winter hiatus started: -

Good thinking! You could also diversify with 1x2 purple tiles for example. I made a house with purple roof once, I had to pull out almost any purple piece in my collection: You can see that not everything has to be perfectly and uniformly covered. Here's a more recent roof that I did, as another example: -

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion

Yeah, that's more like it! Great improvements on all mentioned points! The decorated window frame with closable hatch is particularly nice and the roof looks fine. Another suggestion: make the base/floor of your cottage more than one plate thick (or give the illusion that it is). On another note, I caught up with a whole lot of story material yesterday, mainly the Challenge V preludes. And, darn: it was epic! Pretty excited to start building an entry! Also, Jaapxaap and I did a collab recently, you can check it out in this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/145807-collab-zotharian-swamp-houses/ -
Somewhere in the marshy outskirts of Zotharith... Ryo Kokoro leaves his home to attend an important meeting. ====================== Hi guys! I was visiting my friend, Jaapxaap, in the holidays. Of course, we wanted to build something, so we decided to do a collaborative build, to further expand the City of Zotharith. I was able to complete the house on the right just in time, except for a few smaller details. Credits to Jaap for the house on the left, the terrain and the photography! Building with Jaap's parts was great; currently, my own collection doesn't allow me to build even half of what you see here... Anyway, thanks for looking, C&C always appreciated!

Nice cottage, reminds me of the typical shepherd huts high in the mountains, built by stacking whatever stones are available. The colour patterns for the terrain is really nice, but it could use a few more tiles to break the studded surface area a little more. Also, even though Nocturnus is a gloomy place (), I think your builds would be done more justice if you were to increase contrast and/or saturation of your image a bit.

Oh my, the story of part 2 is even better! Great build too, of course! Houses with a bridge connecting one part with another are always cool to see! You've done the well very well as well (sorry! ).

A rather amusing, lighthearted tone, you have given to your story, Titus! You nailed the Skavenport build, if you ask me! The pavement and the tore-down wall are great, but the wooden frameworking is just bizarre!

Book II - Nocturnus: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Exetrius replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hmm, okay, I get the unusual colours idea. I like the general shaping, but I have a few critiques: Lime and Magenta (especially in combination) are too bright for the stuff Nocty houses are made of, in my opinion. Even though there are many liberties due to GoH being partly fantasy, when it comes to buildings, I think natural colours should be used. In the modern era that we live in, bright and artificial dyes can be applied to anything and are inexpensive, but in Historica, it's a different story. Because the walls and roof are perfectly smooth, the building appears modern. I'd recommend adding extra texture, to create a more 'imperfect' look. I wouldn't use the same colour for the walls as for the roof, especially if you don't really have a texture to distinguish between those two features. Speaking of features: a good integration of features starts with a proper separation of them; you cannot just place a window or door in a wall, you'll need a framework for it first. The corners of houses are often defined by some sort of vertical feature, which is structural support for the roof, but also breaks up the wall in sections and keeps these sections together. The better you define your features, the more realistic your building becomes. -
Book II Challenge V Final Prelude: Beggar's Inn

Epic conclusion to the superbly written Preludes, congratulations to you all! The unusual opening feature in this build is crazy cool, the hinged-back door/wall leading towards the storage basement is done very well! -
Book II Challenge V Prelude: Alguroran
Exetrius replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
The architectural texturing is extraordinary! The complete monotony of the dark bluish grey and the strange shapes add to the complete hostile atmosphere of this place. Also, the train of awesome story progression is showing no sign of slowing down! -

This immense and hugely detailed build is just insane! I love your unique approach to the crumbling part of the keep, which is held together by the skeleton on the inside (and sheer luck, probably). The whole mansion in the lake setting is very cool as well! -

Retribution [Book II, Chapter V: Prelude, Part IV]
Exetrius replied to MassEditor's topic in Guilds of Historica
This is an outright masterpiece! I just cannot express in words how much I like the shot of the outside of the house, with the faint glow of the fireplace coming from behind the windows; the twilight; the fog; the terrain, the boat ashore.. every single thing! And the story... oh my! This is fantastic, awesome stuff!
