Gosh, that set is absolutely perfect! Harry Potter seems to be getting amazing treatment from TLG.

I am absolutely shocked at how good these sets look. Sometimes it feels like TLG has a completely different team working on the anthology film sets. The TFA and TLJ waves are somewhat lackluster overall compared to Rogue One and Solo. -

It's a little strange to me that 75204 is already on the shelves. Wasn't the official release date January 1st? Even if it was December 1st it'd still be too early. Also makes me wonder why we aren't seeing the other sets pop up; in image form or otherwise. -

I'm sure we'll see them again, especially if there's an Ahch-To set. Also, I'm guessing that Old Luke and Rey in her new outfit weren't included in the Falcon because they'll be in an Ahch-To set soon enough. -
Since I finally got around to rebuilding 10123 Cloud City, I thought it'd be a good idea to update the figs: I think they turned out pretty darn good. I couldn't find a better torso for Leia, short of using the original, but I wanted to keep the dark red. I don't currently have the funds to acquire the most recent versions of Boba Fett or Vader, but I'll get around to them eventually.

I think we can all agree that this wave is pretty lackluster, especially when compared to TFA or RO's Force Friday waves. There are a few standouts of course, like Kylo's TIE and the Resistance Bomber, but even those have their own problems. The entire wave seems rushed & overpriced; like they weren't given enough time to work on the sets. I'm really hoping that the Winter Wave will make up for this; I want some truly spectacular sets for TLJ.

My counterargument is that the Rogue One wave was FAR less expensive. I honestly believed that it was an indication of an attempt to lower prices overall. There may have been less sets, but they were priced much more reasonably. The most expensive set was $90 USD! That was such a nice reprieve from the ridiculousness of having three sets that cost more than $100 USD each. If TLG doesn't stop this trend, it could lead to decreased sales for them overall. I believe that they're overestimating their market. How is anyone expected to be able to afford a wave that costs $680 USD plus an $800 UCS Falcon? They really should start targeting lower price points. I very much miss when waves had a reasonable selection of sets starting at $5 USD.

This looks absolutely fantastic. I'd need some more pictures to tell you if it could be structurally improved any, but the very nature of the ship leads me to believe that it's not going to be able to be very sturdy in the first place.

For someone who claims to only deal with facts and not emotion, you seem rather upset. I must've struck a nerve. It doesn't matter whether or not you care about my opinion; this is a public forum and I have every right to post here and express my thoughts. I have the right to be critical of TLG even if you don't think I have a reason to. We're done here.

You're completely ignoring the data that doesn't serve your argument. The Resistance Bomber, Heavy Assault Walker, and Star Destroyer are all overpriced. This entire wave costs $680 USD, which is a $110 increase over the Force Awakens wave. Is that not ridiculous to you? Also, this is not just a US-based problem. Prices are increasing everywhere, and have been for quite some time. I'm extremely worried that the prices will not stop increasing.

As far as I'm concerned, Kylo's TIE is $20 too much, the Resistance Bomber is $40 too much, and the FO Walker & Star Destroyer are both at least $10 too much. This is a significant increase over the cost of the TFA and the RO Force Friday waves. I feel like we're being priced out of this hobby. I won't be able to afford most of this wave unless there are significant price drops.

...Source? Most of those seem ridiculously overpriced. It would only make sense if those prices came from TRU as they tend to gouge quite heavily.
-
This is a very important point. The Falcon will be closer to $900 USD including tax, at least where I live. Sales tax can really increase the price when you're talking about high-dollar items.

Yes. It was leaked a month ago.

...Where did you hear that? They've made plenty of partially transparent figures in the past, such as in Ninjago or Chima. They've even done one within the SW theme! I see absolutely no reason why they couldn't just go all the way with it. Force ghost minifigs have been asked for for a long time. -
So glad we finally get a look at the Old Luke minifig. And it's not even a leak! I'm definitely saving some money for whatever set he ends up being in in 2018. A well-done Ahch-To set would blow the entire Force Friday wave out of the water, IMO.
-
....Am I just not making myself clear today or what? Everything you just said was you agreeing with me. I said that TLG would want our first impressions of the sets to be HD images instead of leaks, which is basically what you just said also. I dunno if I'm wording things poorly or if people are just skimming over my points, but it's a little annoying either way.
-
You missed my point entirely. I never said that nobody could afford it, and quite frankly I think it's pretty rude to act as if $600+ is a trivial amount of money. Anyway, my point was that TLG should reveal the sets earlier so that everyone has time to plan their purchases and save up the money, which I'd imagine a very large chunk of people need to do in order to ever be able to afford something like an entire wave of sets or the Falcon. LEGO sets are incredibly expensive and their target market covers a wide range of people with different financial situations.
-
Agreed. TLG's secrecy is rather frustrating and ultimately detrimental to the end consumer. I don't know anyone who just has $600+ USD lying around to just drop on Force Friday, much less $800 USD by October 1st. I really wish they'd reveal their sets earlier; we'd all be better off knowing about the sets as early as possible. Thank the maker for leaks. However, TLG could easily prevent leaks if they'd reveal the sets in a reasonable amount of time. You'd think they'd want our first impressions of a set to be official HD images rather than a blurry photo of a preliminary image in a retailer catalog. Perhaps I'm spoiled by a world where movies have trailers a year in advance, but I don't think asking for an official reveal a few months earlier is totally unreasonable. As it stands, we usually only get official reveals several days before any given wave comes out, or just a single month in the case of D2C sets.

Here's the thing about that info: that exact selection of minifigs was rumored to be included in Kylo Ren's TIE Fighter. I'm speculating based on anecdotal evidence that there was a number of changes made to the Force Friday wave; switching the minifigs around being one of them. That wouldn't be the first time we've seen something like that happen. Yoda's Hut, for example. However, as others have pointed out, Taylor Stevenson is an extremely unreliable source and he likely just made up his information based on the rumor that I was talking about. Even if it turns out to be correct, I'd wager that he was just guessing based on previous info to make himself appear more credible. Quite frankly, I'd find it ridiculous if we didn't get an Ahch-To set with Luke. He is a main character, after all, and that location seems to be rather important to the ST as a whole. -
This kind of thing has happened a lot in recent years. This figure is most likely stolen directly from a LEGO factory by one of the employees, who either gave it to someone or decided to sell it themselves. That's what happened with the Force Awakens minifigs in 2015, anyway. Personally, I find it to be a disgusting practice and I suggest that nobody actually support it by buying it. Taking pictures and leaking them is one thing, but stealing physical merchandise and selling it is rather reprehensible. I'd hope that TLG will be able to stop this sort of thing from reoccurring next time.

Where the heck is the image? Why wasn't it posted on other sites? -
According to Promobricks.de, the Falcon will be available to VIP members on September 14th!
-
No, it wouldn't be. It would piss a lot of people off, myself included. TLG wouldn't do something like that.
