REVIEW: LEGO Super Heroes 'Super Hero Airport Battle' (76051)
TakeaBrick replied to Zusammengebaut's topic in LEGO Licensed
Why do they have to use stickers on Giant-man? If they can use prints on Groot, why not do the same? What is the logic here? What else could it be if it is not called an act of disappointing fans? LEGO, reach out to the fans and listen to them.- 26 replies

LEGO® Assault on Hoth™ Base will Challenge Even the Most Skilled Fan Builders How can LEGO even say that...? If you are saying feeling cheated is being challenged, then, LEGO, you are dead right. The modular design enables fans to customize their Rebel base configuration, including a Wampa cave and Wampa figure. Even 7879 looks more of a modular to me than this heap of pissant rehashed non-creative little pieces of $20 sets. At least for 7879 it can open up and close up. LEGO seems to be having the idea that they can make us all pay for anything they stamp with the "UCS" label. What a joke.

Thanks for all the insights! Just so you know, I already have the original GB ideas ecto-1 set. The more I read the comments, The more I think, The more I am inclined to give up on the GBHQ set and just buy the new reboot ecto-1 instead and leave the remaining budget for other better sets. Though, it is still not the final decision. God, forgive me for being so hesitant when it comes to buying LEGO!!!

75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Discussion
TakeaBrick replied to kelceycoe's topic in LEGO Licensed
i just posted a GBHQ related post in the sub-forum General LEGO discussion, please feel free to discuss http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=121116 -
This post is kind of a thought experiment on the build quality of the set 75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ For the sake of discussion, let's say we take away the brandname of GB, change the licensed minifigs for the generic minifigs normally seen being included in the modular sets(e.g. some firefighters in this case), put the set under the creator expert line, same number of bricks and minifigs, same price, in this case, would you still buy the aformentioned set? At the moment, I am still on fence about buying the set. If given the said restraints, I would definitely not buy it. And It makes me wonder if I truly love the build quality of the set. It stays accurate to the building in real life but it just kind of seems like to a lackluster set in LEGO form. I am not a big fan of GB but I have to admit that having the licensed GB minifigs is quiet a bonus. And I have no intention of being ripped off by buying just the minifigs at such a god-forbidden price. I would love to hear your opinion on this. Would you still buy it given that??? For lego modular fans, I am pretty sure they will still buy cafe corner, green grocer, parisian restaurant, brick bank etc. at the same price even though no minifig is included in those sets....

Does anyone know if the clone turbo tank set is based on the prequel movie or the rebels series?

My good lord! That is one heck of a MOC, can you kindly share just the gist of the building instruction? Keep up with the good work, yo!

DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
TakeaBrick replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
At first, the leaked pictures sort of hyped me up. But, after seeing the price tag and the designer video, ration comes into play. And I can now conclude that it is one of the most extremely overpriced and underperforming sets. At this price point, we deserve a grand quality set instead of a big messy collage of little pissant sets. I would rather the LEGO group scale up the set and make it a 1960s Wayne Manor (e.g. $350) and have the basement/cave to accommodate the classic batmobile ($30) which should be sold separately, just like the way the set GBHQ is made. But, now, every hope I once had is crushed to pieces. Yet, the LEGO group could still probably make a few bucks out of the die-hard fans. But, you won't be counting my money for this set. I just wish that the LEGO group can take a tremendous fall for this piece for work and learn something from it. Failure in the present is the only way to guarantee the ever-lasting success in the future. I sincerely curse you on this , LEGO group. I am sorry for being the necessary evil. For the sake of product improvement, I need to be.- 8,446 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
TakeaBrick replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
@Elgard I hope you are right but I have bad feelings about this one. I feel like LEGO will once again skimp on those printed pieces for the giant man as usual. It will not be cost effective in the eyes of LEGO. So, I DOUBLE DARE the designers of the set. Don't you ever give us the much-despised stickers for the giant man. Or else, you will have my revenge. -
DC Superheroes 2016 - Rumors and Discussion
TakeaBrick replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
It is how it has come to. A lot of people collect minifigs (especially superheroes) simply for the sake of collecting them without really asking themselves if they know the characters or have feelings for them. As long as they are "rare and exclusive", they just go trigger-happy and jump the gun on them. LEGO is expensive, so it is always good and sensible to ask yourself if you really want them before buying them. Don't let LEGO get the best part of you with all those repaint/rehash/"exclusive"/"Toysrus only".....Your money deserves being spent on other better sets.- 8,446 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
TakeaBrick replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
I cannot believe it is real. While LEGO is "WISE" enough to squander all the new molds on those I-do-not-know-who-will-buy chima and elves minifigs, LEGO gets the nerve to give us just a horn instead of a helmet for the Black Panther minifig which we never see before and will be featured in one of the biggest marvel blockbusters next year. LEGO, SERIOUSLY??? I hope the marketing team or the set designers or whoever it is that is involved in making the set in the LEGO group can really take some time to think about the rationale behind. Jeez, I still cannot believe the news. -

sweet jeez...man...just2good is just like some good old prophet in the bible...He is right about the airport thing!! Now, can the Messenger reveal more about the civil war sets and give us the ignorant people the much needed epiphany? Though I have to confess that at first I didn't believe the civil war set info from just2good which probably implicates plot details cause Marvel is known to be airtight about the leaks. Now it is safe to say that many disbelievers including me have converted to just2good. -

The more I look at the prelim pictures of Mighty Micros, the more I realize that this new move by lego is not to bring a new flavour to the kids or AFOLS but simply try to get more market share from TOMICA and Hot Wheels in the small scale die-cast toy cars market. Not a display of creativity but a sign of greed. Somehow, I have a hunch that the Mighty Micros will be a total bust that shall ,in my hope, be able to teach LEGO group some lessons on getting to know the customer needs.- 8,446 replies

Marvel Superheroes 2016 Rumors And Discussion
TakeaBrick replied to Quicksilver's topic in LEGO Licensed
man, I agree with you on that. While everyone is crazy pumped for the civil war sets, just a little teasing can get them(including me) in a serious state of delirium. AFOLs need to digest the news with a grain of salt. Maybe WS can reveal more about his source so that we can have better judgement on the authenticity. -
75827 Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Discussion
TakeaBrick replied to kelceycoe's topic in LEGO Licensed
I am going to state the unpopular opinion here: At least on the exterior, it stays accurate to the building and looks generally good to me. But, to be honest, it is not as detailed or delicate as the modular buildings in the creator line. If it were not for the franchise influence and it were just another modular building, I don't think it is really that attractive. But, I believe the interior is going to be amazing. That said, it is still a pass for me since I am not really that much of a ghostbusters fan. But, it is a must-have for fans, I guess. With the same budget, If I have to choose either the modulars (PR and DO) or the GB building, I would take the former though the minifigs in GB building are easily an overwhelming win even though I am not a fan of GB. Do others share the same thought? Please don't hate on me. Just stating my opinion is all. -

As an AFOL, I must say I am more eager for the large sets that look aesthetically pleasing to me. By that, I mean sets that are of certain size, have slick design and a great choice of colour and are nearly fully developed. A few play features would be nice but not necessary. I guess I am at a age at which sets are all about aesthetics and sizes. Thus, naturally, I am captivated by a lot of UCS sets instead of those smaller, kid-appealing sets. I enjoy every detail given by those great sets. I just wonder if any AFOL here like me is all about aesthetics and sizes. Quality over quantity, that is the motto I kind of remind myself every time I am about to buy a set. I would rather buy a few yet quality sets instead of a lot of insignificant and cheap sets so as to make a holy and monumental temple instead of a chaotic and messy garage out of my collection. To give you some examples, I own and am pround of 7784 Batmobile, 10226 Sopwith Camel, 70810 Metal Seacow and a few more others. I, for sure ,just like others, eye on 10179 Millennium Falcon as well. I even decide to sell the small sets which now look unattractive to me. Please share your thoughts if you experience such a transformation as well.

Seeing that the batpod has now been bidded up to around 2000USD on ebay, it is further clear to me that I won't get it for the rest of my life. Now, around 80% of the badpod are going to be buried in boxes eternally instead of being built, played and admired by many. Yet, in this regard, LEGO does not really gain much in terms of the extra set sales or advertising effects. The true winners are those that are at this moment listing the prices of the set on ebay. Finally, thanks LEGO as in thanks Obama.

Petition for DC Comics Collectible Minifigure series
TakeaBrick replied to omegabob's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't want to demoralize you. But I would like to say that having the DC comics collectible minifigure series will seriously hurt the DC sets' sales since many people get those sets simply for the minifigures and not the poorly designed vehicles which sometimes appear in those sets. From the business point of view, LEGO can't satisfy your request. Money is money. If I were you, I would start the petition to get LEGO to put the Bat-Pod on sale for the public instead of making it the prize of a lucky draw. Such a petition will be more realistic though the chances are still slim. -
Advanced Models 10248 Ferrari F40: Discussion Topic

I thought the set was supposed to be designed by Jamie Berard... Still, not totally sold on the set. -
Hey, guys, just wonder if any of you is going to modify the canopy of the batmobile in the jokerland to make it have a sliding mechanism while not having the canopy falling off when I turn the batmobile upside down. It would be just like the movie. I really don't like that it is currently stacked on two 1x1 plates though it is kind of firm. If anyone has a great design idea about it, I would like to hear it. thanks!

Why can't LEGO just let us all enjoy it? Even If I were one of those 750 people, I would rather have LEGO put it on retail as well even though it hurt the resale value that I might gain out of the set I "luckily" got. I would like to buy another one and have two copies of it. I would be happy enough since I already got one free. And, also imagine if you were one of those non-chosen "750"... Plus, I believe LEGO is in its full capacity production-wise to put this set on retail. It is totally fine to me for LEGO to have some ultra-exclusive products once in a while. It is the common marketing strategy. But, please not on this set...

A lot of you probably know the said luck draw. What you may even know more is that you won't be able to get them because the chances are too slim and the prices on the secondary market will be way too high. Feeling compelled to need to do something about it, I already sent the following email to the LEGO group. "As a LEGO fan, I am always pleased to see new products coming out. Yet, the recent promotional lucky draw of 750 Limited Edition LEGO DC Super Heroes Bat-Pod (5004590) has disappointed me to the extent that I would like to voice out my opinion on this. The overwhelming exclusiveness of this set has made most of the LEGO fans around the world unable to have access to the set. Seeing the strong sales of 76023 The Tumbler, this Bat-Pod would be no exception and follow the suit if it were ever put on retail. Both the LEGO group and consumers will enjoy the most out of it. However, making this set exclusive to the lucky draw will only make the gains that could have well realized go to the hands of secondary market investors and an extremely limited number of fans. From the point of view of the VIP participants, they will make the LEGO DC Super Heroes purchase which they most likely would purchase anyway for one time at most just to try out their luck. They will not be buying in multiples as the chances are far too slim. If they truly wanted it, they would rather resort to the secondary market. And, the prices of the set on the secondary market will no doubt rise to a level that only a very few will be able to buy them and most of the sets will just stay sealed in the boxes for years to come. I truly understand that this promotional lucky draw will surely bring a lot of side-benefits to the company. But, compared with the gains if it were put on retail, I am sure the latter will do much more for the company and everyone else will gain more on the whole. I am hoping the LEGO group can kindly consider putting the set on retail in the future while keeping the lucky draw an on-going thing so as not to hurt the chances of the people that are already into this and let more people enjoy the design effort put into the set and the fun it can bring. " I am sure a lot of you would like to make this happen. Please send the email to the LEGO group to voice out your wishes at http://service.lego.com/en-us/contactus You can use mine as the template and edit any way you see fit or you can just make your own. I am sure a lot of good things can happen when we act in unity just like the Ninjago line was once saved by the fans. Let's all make this happen!
