That also shows us that Seamus Finnigan is really in the wave. P.S. The castle part looks way more like the part surrounding the Whomping Willow rather than the part next to the great hall, showing us we can connect the Hogwarts parts in any order we like which gives me high hopes for the d2c.- 8,371 replies

I love the new set, you can even see a small part of the whomping willow. But it provides a way bigger part of hogwarts than I expected. It makes me wonder about the d2c.- 8,371 replies

I would take it with a grain of salt. The information on his page is changing the entire time. Filch was only added after the figure was leaked.- 8,371 replies

Yeah I agree, the prints are better in comparison to the last version, but the hairpiece really doesn't fit him well. It only works for Flitwick.- 8,371 replies

I was around that age when the first waves came out and I truly loved them, I pretty much saw it as a medieval theme 2.0 with castles, ghosts, trolls and wizards, however the sets were way too hard to build for me (looking at you dumbledore's office and Hagrid's hut). So I think a juniors set would work perfectly.- 8,371 replies

Or the non lego games from years ago, the deleted scene was never shown to public so nobody will see that version as peeves, but the games were played by many and it's his only appearance outside of the books. They are also owned by Warner Bros what helps against licensing issues. About Aragog, it could be a very simplistic build with huge pieces, like they do for juniors. Thinking about it, how big is the chance for it to be a juniors set?- 8,371 replies

Wow many new rumors. If all of this is true I would buy these sets in a heartbeat (I would have done that anyway tbh) it sounds amazing. A little bit too amazing in my opinion... It all sounds way too good to be true so I'm a little bit sceptical. I hope we'll get some true answers very soon.- 8,371 replies

I always imagined Peeves the way he was portrayed in the first 3 Harry Potter PC games (not counting the quiditch one), which in fact are owned by Warner Bros. So the Neck Ruffle piece, colourful clothes, coattails and something like the revolutionary soldier hairpiece.- 8,371 replies

I mean they could do it, but the chances are extremely low. This is because Lego would have to create all the sets basically from scratch, with only a description and maybe some pictures of the stage play (which really didn't have an amazing decor, it was rather empty, very little Lego could do with it). So there we have our first problem. The second problem are the characters, what will they look like? The costumes were really bland and cheap looking compared to the movies, resulting in boring and strange looking figures. And which actor will be chosen for the characters? The play had different actors over time, and than there is the problem that non of them look anything like the movie versions which do get figures around the same time, so will they completely redesign them to look like the movie variants? That might be a controversial thing to do. And than there is the third problem, nowhere as many people have seen the play as the movies, and most people who have seen it probably aren't even Lego's target market. Will children rather buy the young versions of a character, or a less important older version? We've seen it already with Star Wars. I would also like to say that the play might be canon, but it might as well not be, not because it's that bad, but because it feels more like a fanfiction than anything else. Now take Hermione for example, she is way out of character, they basically made her a Snape 2.0. I really can't see her becoming like that just for *spoilers* not marrying Ron. By book 4 it was clear Hermione was an independent woman, and no man (or the lack there of) would change that, and so there are way more issues with the book/play, no wonder there is so much backlash from the fans. And that backlash is my final reason why I doubt sets of Cursed Child will happen. The only thing I could see happening is a set based on the last scene of book 7 which is also the first scene of the play. The other option I could think of are some exclusive figures (with books, SDCC, polybags, etc), but I really wouldn't get my hopes up for anything more than that.- 8,371 replies

The new Snape that's been going around on Instagram looks pretty good in my opinion. His torso appears to be a mix of the 2004 and 2010 one (the purple is back ) + leg printing. He has the same hair like in 2010 but an all new facial expression that looks kind annoyed/angry, which is a nice addition. I assume he has a second face with a new variant of his classic "Snape" face, if not I would be really disappointed. The only thing that might have improved this figure were hair strands printed on the head like in 2007, but oh well we can't get everything. Overall they did a pretty good job of translating a character that's pretty boring looking into Lego without making him look like a vampire- 8,371 replies

Wow almost at page 100 . Anyway about the D2C and the Great Hall, I see it like this: We'll already get a very detailed Great Hall and there's no way they will remake this one for the D2C so it can either go 2 ways. 1. The Great Hall is way bigger, they went all way to make it stand out giving us an incredible set. However that would leave no place for every other part of Hogwarts. Hogwarts might not be complete without a great hall (which we get either way) but neither without the other parts. 2. The Great Hall would be smaller, less detailed. Which would mean the other parts of the castle will be smaller as well. It will be less of a display piece and more of a playset that wouldn't fit next to the other sets. It will probably look like set 4842 but with more buildings. So more a mix of smaller sets instead of what we usually except from a D2C set. I can't see it go any other ways.- 8,371 replies

I'm sorry my fault, I assumed the classroom could have been used for different classes over time (since there were also classrooms in the books that weren't even in use). It's the Green Arrow discussion all over again- 8,371 replies

Since it's been confirmed Dumbledore teaches in the exact same class as Lockhart, perhaps they'll use that room in the D2C, with some kind of painting of Lockhart in the classroom that could be turned so I would look like an ordinary blackboard for Dumbledore. This theory also goes hand in hand with the movies 1 and 2 only theory, because they could use rooms that appeared only in these 2 films (hospital wing, potions class, defence against the dark arts room (lockhart/dumbledore), dumbledores office, staircase, greenhouse, bathroom and the common rooms, (not all appeared in the movies, but they did in the books) + keep the outside appearance from Hogwarts the way it looked in the later movies as that is what it looks like in Crimes of Grindewald.- 8,371 replies

Well that confirms the leaks were fake. Anyway the set looks amazing, I'm only missing printing on the skirt piece and the eye of Grindewald should have been changed. The best parts are ofcourse the Thestral and the Pink/Purple wand.- 8,371 replies

You can't compare those 2, the death star was almost the same as the one we got in 2008, they wouldn't leave out a room because they already released a more detailed version the year before, a set that came out 7 years later than the one they pretty much rereleased but updated. I'll have to disagree. Why would it look odd? In the previous waves of Harry Potter sets we only got 2 great halls in total and many and many other parts of the castle to connect to the first great hall. These sets still sold like hotcakes and were perfectly able to work as stand-alone sets. The other one was a small version of the entire castle with only the most important parts/rooms. Other parts of the castle might not be as iconic as the great hall, but they're still really iconic and all have an interesting design to them. Think about the clock tower, the astronomy tower, the greenhouses, the bridges, the courtyards. The great hall we'll get this year is the best one yet and amazingly detailed, it will be hard to top that. And now we'll know it can connect to other sets so we can easily asume they'll go the same route as back in 2001. It would be a shame if we'll miss out on the other parts of the castle just to get the exact same building that's allready in stores, just bigger and more expensive. Because let's be honest, if they'll make the great hall and the tower bigger and more detailed than the one that's already on the shelves and they want to really make it stand out, there won't be room for any other parts of the castle for that price. Resulting in that most people will only buy one (except for the hardcore fans), most likely the cheapest one, that wouldn't make sense business wise. And what will be the next step? Releasing another D2C with the different parts of the castle? Wouldn't that create the same ''problem'' (it wouldn't work as a stand-alone set) that made them put 2 great halls on the shelf instead of multiple Hogwarts parts? Or will they be releasing just a great hall over and over again. And if they'll add another small great hall to the D2C (that wouldn't fit onto the normal one, Nabii was very clear about that) wouldn't that just be a big middle finger towards the people that bought the great hall just a few months earlier? There wouldn't be any reason to buy that one than except for a few exclusive minifigures. I'll take the entire Hogwarts castle for about $600,-/€600,- total as a display piece over just a big great hall for about $500,-/€500,- anyday. However it's still possible, lego has made more strange decisions in it's past, but it would be a very strange decision in my opinion. If the D2C set came out about a year after the great hall out, when you can't buy it anymore, it would have made sense, but not when it's released around the same time.- 8,371 replies

I want to add to cocabottle's comment that that place also won't be there in the real set (to make it $20,- cheaper). So even if the flags fit in there you will have to add it in yourself. But the idea is nice.- 8,371 replies
