Thanks for the review! I actually really like Kopaka. I like his colours quite a lot, the combo is nice, yeah Melum isn't that great....but it's a good thing that you can leave them combined. He's way better than Gali for me.

Thanks for the review! I must agree about the torso shell's silver being a little....much...and that Gali is a tad bit weaker on her own without Akida. But, with all that said, I still think she looks average. I love the colour scheme (SO much better than last year's Gali's colour scheme...even though that Gali is awesome), I like the weapon, her mask looks great, and I love the asymmetry. I still think it belongs fittingly more on Pohatu, but I don't mind it on her. I am a bit underwhelmed by her. Not my favourite of this wave...but she isn't bad.

Thank for the review, VBBN! Umarak does look like he'd be a fun set to have. Great weapons, colours, build looks fun. I do like the Mask of Control too. Not sure if anyone has seen, but Lewa was reviewed by bioniclesector01 as well.....and I am going to pass on him. He has a great mask, a cool build and design....but the silver is off-putting, at least for me. It makes me a little afraid of the silver on Kopaka......

I won't lie, I kinda like Tahu now that I've actually seen him. One thing I'm noticing though is that he looks waaaaaay better combined. I think it's the small size of his mask that is kind of bothering me...it looks out of place without Ikir's head over it. Asp his skull armour pauldrons look way too random. Still have to say though, looks darn cool. Can't wait to see the other Toa.

I personally prefer the newer sets over the 2015 ones..but can understand people's qualms with these new guys. They look messy, and I feel that's something some people really dislike. I can also understand the ideal of 'lack of progress' by lego with these guys..as they do seem to come from a G1 design era. I won't go as far as to say these Uniters look so much more different than the Masters that they look like different characters. Comparisons (my opinion) Master Tahu v Uniter Tahu Master Tahu was my least favourite toa (not set) last year. He seemed incomplete and there were questionable design bits placed on him which I didn't like. Still don't find his mask appealing, his upper leg armour placement is odd, and the arms....look like a mess. What do. Like about Uniter Tahu that I didn't like about M Tahu? His mask for one, he has way more trans colours this time around. What do I still dislike about him? He still has those weirdly designed arms, odd weapons, the upper legs look incomplete...his back is now less covered and the combo model is a mess...because Ikir is a little mess. I still like Uniter Tahu more than Master Tahu. Gali and Gali: Gali was one of my favourite sets last year..fantastic mask, great weapon, really well-designed...but I had issues with her too. Namely, bland colour scheme. Her legs are well designed, as are her arms...the one minor fault with her design is her back, but it's still good. Uniter Gali has more colour, she's got a cool mask, more wieldable weapon (I still like the axe..but it gets in the way so often when I pose her), asymmetry, and she still somewhat has more of the smooth look than do the other toa. Uniter Gali I think is better. Lewas: Last year's Lewa was solid, except for the fact that his neck was constrained. This year's Lewa is better in terms of design...but even there I'm not sure that I like him all that much to want to buy him. His arms are nice, but from the side shot, the shoulder armour looks bizarre and makes his body disproportionate...I don't know. Also, they killed the colour on him and drowned him in silver. Add to this silly weapons, but a much improved mask...and I now have no idea whether I want him or not. Onuas: Uniter Onua is just better. I'm not against the tank that is Onua, but this new version has a much better mask, way more trans colours, much better weapon...he's just awesome. I know he's gappy though....and I'm not sure that that will bother me enough to pass on him. I dig the design on this one..except for his upper legs....they used Tahu's upper leg armour on Onua..... Kopakas: He was my favourite last year...and looks to be my favourite this year. Great design, weapons, colours, his combo will likely be messy, but I think I won't mind it as much. Te new Kopaka seems he more 'complete' figure to me..but then again we haven't seen his back yet. I like the blues, and am not bothered by his bumpy construction. Pohatus: Uniter again....I loved last years version and do miss the asymmetry...but this one has awesome colours, an awesome weapon.....but super odd arm construction. I've noticed that as I've grown, I went from loving most of the green characters (back in G1), to finding an appreciation for the stone characters up until now. Do I want to just start collecting stone characters now? I loved Nilkuu and Pohatu from last year...but Ketar and Pohatu this year...not sure if he'll have enough to beat Onua out. He's got a much better mask now too.

See, I think Kopaka looks great. Tahu is kinda the one I'm not sure about at all because of the odd choices in pieces used. I agree with the other Toa being interesting, save for Lewa. I think from a certain angle he looks great, but from other angles he looks...odd. Not saying I dislike him per se, I'm more saying the others are better...except Tahu. I'm worried about Onua though, because there are things about him I really like...but we see him posed from advantageous angles, except for the pic of him on the box. There you can see that he's 'hollow'. Don't know how I'll feel about that. Umarak is way too gappy for me...so he's a no for me

I must say I'm disappointed that LEGO has priced Kopaka/Melum at $29.99 US (which here in Canada is automatically going to be 39.99...sigh). Ah well. I'm still picking this set up first, along with Pohatu, Ketar, Tahu, Ikir. For Canadian fans, the rest of the sets are the same prices as wave one...so all creatures = $15.99, lower Toa = 17.99, greater Toa/Umarak = 24.99 Does anyone additionally know when we'll get more info about Bionicle 2016? In the coming week? Will it be possible to buy the sets before Christmas?

Personally, I may go at this in a very unorthodox way. From the box art, from what I've seen, I feel like I'll be getting Kopaka (he might actually be my favourite this time around), Pohatu, and Tahu. I like Lewa a lot, as well as Uxar...but considering I felt Gali would be my least favourite of the figures last year, and the fact that I loved how Narmoto glowed last year (he is one of my favourite of the protectors), I feel like I should give Tahu a chance. He might turn out to be way cooler than anticipated (he is, thus far, my least favourite of the sets).

I love all these sets. I think they're all excellent in various ways....my least favourites are still Tahu, Umarak, and Ikir...but they're not bad sets at all, I just don't like them as much as the others! Lewa is very well designed. His mask reminds me a tad bit of the Miru Nuva from the sides...must be that curve around the nasal area. I think his chest design is beautiful. The glowing bohrok eyes are a nice little addition, as are all those yellow axle pieces. His combo with Uxar...is not what I expected in that I expected it to look a little cooler...but it's still a great combo. I still dislike Lewa's weapons and the fact that his colour scheme lacks the pretty keetorange from last year. Great set though. Gali is fantastic this time around. Chest design is perfect, the back has some system parts, the colours are excellent, the mask looks great, and the combo between her and Akida is very fun. I still am not on board with her weapon...but that shouldn't stop anyone from buying her. Then...there's kind of a three-way tie....or....I don't know what to call it. But I am impressed by Pohatu, Onua, and Kopaka most. Ammo packets, interesting designs, beautiful masks, daring colours, a variety of great pieces, and complex constructions...they are by far my favourite of the '16 sets. I think I give the edge to Onua and Pohatu....but it doesn't matter, as I will be purchasing all of them and their respective creatures together!

Ah lol whoops, I was late. Pohatu is awesome, looks incomplete from the back, but I'm sure that when he'll be combined with Ketar that he'll look monstrously cool. Onua is good too, as is Terak. Gali is excellent, Lewa is well-designed, save for all the silver that seems to be drowning out his green (I'm still not sure about Lewa tbh). Tahu and Ikir are actually a bit disappointing for me....I'm mostly disappointed by Ikir. Just don't like him. Maybe reviews will change my mind.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
Fulcrumfan91 replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Does anyone know whether any 2016 sets set for release in January 2016 will be released in mid-December in Canada? I'm interested in Star Wars....but other themes as well, which will probably be off-topic. -
Yup, that's the theory so far. It's a compartment for Onua to store extra studs...hopefully Kopaka has something like that.

I consider them sort of like tribal tattoos. Onua's is above his eye. Looks kinda cool to me. I really disagree that Lewa is the only one that integrates both systems equally. I think Gali and Pohatu do an equally good job of using both Technic and CCBS. Problem is, you can't quite see it, because all the intricacies of Technic are hidden beneath the Torsos. I'll agree though that Tahu is a mess, Onua is lacking, and Kopaka does look a little messy...but of all of them, his I don't mind as much.
