In order to guarantee as more as possible the overall geometry of the set, plates 2x16 which shoud be connected to 85976 have been excluded and placed underneath their correct position. 30140 - Adu Walker - Alien Conquest LXF 30141 - Jetpack - Alien Conquest LXF For all sets missing proper decoration.

LDD 4.2.5 Bugs
marco9999 replied to Zerobricks's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
There seems to be a problem with part 4861; in a small model from set 4099 it is impossible place the highlighted plate 3020 correctly, as if there were no room for a plate or even for an unstudded tile under the central section of 4861. The same is not happening for example with part 48933 which has similar connections. This kind of assembly does not seem to be illegal in real life, even though I have encountered it only in this set until now. I attach the LXF to let you have your checks. LXF -
10174 - Imperial AT-ST - Star Wars LXF Rubber belt, decorations and stickers missing. I could not manage to close the cockpit's rear door completely. The side doors' connection is not ideal too. Some improvement could be obtained by combining rotations in a different way; I made several attempts and this was my best.

6955 - Lockup Isolation Base - Space Police I LXF Rack group (parts 202, 2428, 202) replaced with custom assembly. Window Frame 4033 not in LDD: replaced with 6556. Glass 3855 not connectable to 6556: replaced with 4034. Stick 3957 not connectable to Hanger 6140's holes; as cage bars they were replaced with custom bricks. Fence 3185 not connectable by its lattice so it was placed vertically. Missing proper decorations. 5980 - Squidman's Pitstop - Space Police III LXF 57562 Technic Bionicle Barraki Spines Ehlek not in LDD: replaced with custom assembly 6179 plate cannot be connected vertically due to collision with yellow door 3189's handle. Is that possible in real life? Colour Metallic Gold (BLcolorID = 31) refers in LDDManager to 299 Lacqured Gold/Warm Gold but that was not possible to get in LDD 4.2.5, even editing text in Lxfml file. So I used 310 Metalized Gold which, at least semantically, reminds me of Metallic Gold. Missing proper decorations. If I am not missing something these two sets should complete Space Police I and Space Police III in this topic. In meny websites they mention a "9402 Space Police Team" set, but I could find no picture, instruction or inventory about it and according to its title it should be an "all minifigs" set.

9394 - Jet Plane - Technic LXF Stickers missing. Required flexible parts are not available so they have been customized. I was not able to place the gear 3647 under the worm in the middle of the plane's fuselage. It seems that there is not enough room for it even in the real life if I understood correctly the instructions. The yellow-painted pin could not be placed correcty for some reason.

LDD update 4.1.8 released
marco9999 replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The biggest issue is about the chain link 3711. I don't know if that part was forgotten or left out of the program on purpouse because of its missing connectability to gears and sprockets to be fixed in the future. It makes no sense that such an important part in Technic sets is not in the program especially after so much progress has been made by LDD people in improving the program's features to simulate real Technic building. I am confident that it will be included in the next release so I'm not saving changes in files when the chain is removed and hope that the program will upload it correctly from old files. Obviously that would not happen if the part were even slightly modified in geometry or displacement as single links would collide to one another and the program would leave them out once again. In that case chains should be rebuilt from new in all models and builders really spent some time in placing "scaffholded" chains around gears with no connection help. From my personal point of view I prefer to have that part exactly the way it was in order to keep the completeness of the models which have been already posted in this forum. A new release is unnecessary for that, a quick update would be enough. But I understand that someone else would like to reset it in the name of easy building. The ideal - but maybe impossible - would be to kill two birds with one stone. Regards Marco -

LDD update 4.1.8 released
marco9999 replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Something has changed in positiong the "68821 differentiale" as 4.1.8 is leaving it (or one of the gears around it) out of all or most models. Anyway after puzzling a bit about which missing part you're warned about it is possible to place it in a more correct way than before, as an old issue which in some models forced me to connect a shorter axle at one side seems to have been fixed. It is now possible to place 2xN plates over a complete car engine like in set 8041 version 1 and 2. Till now I could not notice further assembly differences. -
Small LDD contest - [FINAL RESULTS]
marco9999 replied to Calabar's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Race Boat Hello everybody. Slope parts suggested to me a race motorboat. No other ideas by now. LXF -
8461 - F1 Williams - Theme: Racers or Technic Download LXF Missing parts: Panels 44350, 44351, 32188 and 32189 replaced with 44352 and 44353 which are shorter. As regards aesthetics this is the most critical point. Differential 6573, not replaced as there was no room for part 62821. Shock absorber 76537, because LDD only provides the fully extended mode, whilst the assembly required a half-compressed configuration. Replaced with a template. Shock absorber 32181c01, replaced with a template. The Universal joint 9244 was replaced with the shorter version 61903. Wheels 22969 and tyres 32296, replaced with templates. Flexible axles were arranged joining available parts 32580 and 32199. Corrugated pipes were realized applying half bushes and short pipes 72504 to flexible outer cables like pearls to a necklace. This solution required a lot of work especially near to the engine. Some connection pins should be removed or modified in order to fit the hoses' lenght. I am not reporting the location of each of them but they are quite easy to find. Assembly problems Not able to close the upper cockpit at the end of the assembly. After several attempts I decided to avoid insanity and raised the whole cockpit connecting it to the model with cross blocks 3M instead of 2M. They have been painted 316 Titanium metallic in order to be easily located. There is also a misalignment between left and right cockpit sides which had to be applied separately. That is why I used different parts from the original plans, also painted titanium, to place the upper air inlet. Two issues may be interesting if not already detected: if I did not misunderstand completely the instructions it is impossible to connect panel #22 (44352) as shown at page 87 picture 7 as the pin is at least 2mm out of alignment from the hole. The second one: at page 116 two panels #21 (44351 - not available in LDD) are connected frontally with two pegholes. I thought I could do the same with panels #23 (44353) but it was not possible although they have the same shape as 44351 in the lower side. It should be all! The model has been so widely modified from the original that I can hardly consider it an official set...
