Best Technic Set
MacKaiwer replied to Pauger's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
As I said in Best Technic Set discussion: Surprisingly I would say 42048 Race Kart! It's inexpensive, so good lookin' and it has nice gearbox and steering from steering wheel (no HoG). And Jims' inspired green-white colour scheme is just so cool Some pics of my both race karts: I just love this set -

Hello! I needed 2 pcs. of this white flat tile http://brickset.com/parts/243101 for one of my technic mods and so I bought Star Wars set 75160 aka U-Wing Microfighter http://brickset.com/sets/75160-1/U-wing and took them from there. Then I thought what i'm going to do with the rest of the set... I just started to put pieces together and soon it was ready, a jet plane I took some pictures of it: I I think it is quite nice b- or c-model as I used only parts from set 75160. Landing gear tires actually spin and you can roll it back and fort Hope you like it! PS. If this is wrong place for this post please moderators redirect it. I thought this is right place to this because I don't know where else I should send it.

MacKaiwer replied to jantjeuh's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Unfortunately all show and no go, those Claas Xerion tires are rubbin' all over the chassis and body... But looks are great -
Hi again! I made a quick moc (it took about 2 hours to make) using 42028 b-model tracks and V8 engine from 42039 as a base of this build. I also couldn't resist temptation to use two non lego parts, a turbocharger and a nos-bottle (they are originally key-rings) to decorate and finish this build. Build itself is a diy ripsaw with v8 engine. Let's take a look of pictures: Overall look: And other side: Driver handles it with two joysticks and exhaust pipe goes from turbo to "roof": Black nos line hose goes from nos bottle to engine: And nos bottle itself: Ridiculous huge turbo: Belly shot showing piston working V8 engine: It was very quick but fun build Those turbo and nos are not lego parts but I think they fit just fine for build like this aka not so serious work, just foolin' around

[MOC] Time Attack Race Car
MacKaiwer replied to MacKaiwer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thank you very much! And no, not a C-model, there is parts from here and there and for example double count of curved panels http://brickset.com/parts/6097208 (16 vs 8) than in one 42039 set. -
[MOC] Time Attack Race Car

Thanks! Yes, something like that was in my mind too when I was making this moc, but I wanted to do it somewhat unique and my own design -
[MOC] Time Attack Race Car
MacKaiwer replied to MacKaiwer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks, it was quite a fun to use 42039 curved panels and try to create something different looking than 24 hours race car Thank you, colour scheme is what it is because don't have more available panels at this moment But building of this moc was very much fun and joy all the time -
[MOC] Time Attack Race Car
MacKaiwer replied to MacKaiwer's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Thanks! Yes of course I can show belly shot. There's nothing different in main chassis structure vs. 42039, just some panels etc. covering holes at the floor and side panels to carry new body. -
Hello! Quite a long time since my last post to the forum... I get bored the looks of 24 hours race car (aka 42039) so I took chassis from it and made some different kind of "animal" on it. May I present you Time Attack Race Car. It's a single seater, purpose built vehicle for time attack and track days. Let's see some pictures of it: Looks quite different than 42039: Huge wing for maximal downforce: Openable doors and engine hood: Towing points at front and rear: Cockpit: Shot from above: Side shot: Angled shot: It has HoG steering, piston working V8 engine, openable doors and engine hood, same working suspension as in 42039 and some racing details like towing points and race like cockpit. Hope you like it!

Hello! Time for a new MOC and this time it's H1 Unlimited Hydroplane race boat. TLG has announced their on set 42045 Hydroplane Racer http://brickset.com/...ydroplane-Racer which is nice but so small set, so I decided to do something bigger. My model is just a display model with just one or two functions but I wanted to try create the shape of this machine with Lego Technic parts... It was not that simple but I put something together anyways First a picture of original ones: Then some backgroun from wikipedia: The H1 Unlimited (prior to the 2009 Oryx Cup, known as ABRA Unlimited (American Boat Racing Association) since 2004[5]) class is sanctioned by APBA, its governing body in North America and UIM, its international body. Unlimited Hydroplanes are fast boats capable of more than 320 km/h (200 mph) on the straightaways and running average lap speeds of 209–266 km/h (130–165 mph). They are 8.5–9.1 metres (28–30 ft) in length and weigh a minimum of 3,060 kilograms (6,750 lb). The modern turbine-powered unlimited hydroplane is derived from the 3-point prop-riding hydroplanes of the 1950s. These were the first boats to ride on a cushion of air trapped between "sponsons" mounted on the sides of the front of the boat, and the bottom half of the propeller, which were all that touched the water. They were called "Unlimited" because they were the only class of boat racing the APBA that had no restrictions on the displacement size of their piston engines. The designation Unlimited has stayed with the class in the turbine era, even though there are restrictions on the turbine engine and its fuel. The Lycoming T55 L7C, originally used in Chinook helicopters, is not the only turbine engine currently allowed in the sport.[6] And then my creation... Overall looks: Left and right sides: Back view: Cockpit: Belly shot (four axles are for display stand): Cockpit and maintance hatch open revealing also safety tank behind the seat, fuel line and jet turbine engine: Turbine engine closer look: Aluminium foil in the back of engine is only non technic part (just for the looks) Dimensions are L45xW20xH15 cm. This was quite a quick build to try to catch the shape and having fun too, of course Comments and critics are (as always) most welcome

We all have our cross to carry But I promise try much harder when I'll make a MOC next time My statement was a little test whether anyone ever reads what I say and now I know, thanks man

This set is like my MOCs, everything for the shape and looks and quite poor functions... It looks good but works bad And this is no joke... I must get better with functions so maybe TLG too? What do you think?

Nice video review again Sariel, thank you It is a shame that this set has 300 euros price tag... It would have been a great parts donor package with 200 euros price tag... Now I must seriously think is it worth it... Maybe I repair my real life car (not Porsche) with 300 euros and leave this set on the shop shelf...
