Sam, if this is true about the AT-AT coming out, I personally do not care if it is motorized or not, as long as it is similar in size as the old one. I missed this set the first time around and they are way too expensive on Ebay, even for my tastes. Cannot wait for this. DB

So I did a little research and I may have an answer as to why the boat went that high. The boat in question is not available in the States after checking on www.LEGO.com, so the buyer maybe from the States or any other place that does not currently carry it. That is the best reason other than an all out bidding war. >:-) DB

The newer themes look too juniorized
Dark Brick replied to Nonpoint Fan's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I did a search on www.Peeron.com for the Town Jr. Theme and came out with quite a list. This theme reminds me more of the Jack Stone sub-sets that came out. In fact I have some these pieces to these sets(soon to be auctioned off) from bulk LEGOs that I have purchased. Either way LEGO is changing thier stripes for the better this time around and the sets are almost on par with what we got back in the 80's and 90's. I agree with the "nostagia factor", I can attest to loving all those old set, in fact Pirates maybe the big one that comes to mind. Yeah I would love for TLG to reproduce some of the major iconic sets of those two decades but that is wishful thinking. But if anyone from TLG is reading this, the Airport Shuttle 6399 would be great as a LEGO Legend set. *wub* ;-) DB -
talk about a disturbing ebay listing...
Dark Brick replied to morris's topic in General LEGO Discussion
You know I just had to chime in. I agree with morris, 4J, and *vader* , this is quite possibly the most disturbing auction yet. If my child passed on I would create a sanctuary for the possessions that he/she enjoyed. Selling them away makes me believe that this person is taking advantage of peoples' hearts and minds just so he/she can make a buck. Of course I do not believe this person and I would never buy any items from him/her due to this type of deception to create sales. I have to say that this is not the first time that I have seen auctions where the seller uses someone's disability or death to gain attraction. In fact, there is one seller in particular that I found by chance that uses his son's Autism to attract buyers, he even has a picture of him in his auctions. If I find it again I will leave a link here on this thread. One more thing, l2k, you need to read a bit more into a posting, before you come to conclusions that are not warranted. Modulator or not, show some respect. >:-( DB -
I hope you do realize that Spiderman is Marvel. On the topic at hand, they will most likely continue thier Spiderman theme if they feel that it is worth thier time and effort. I too would also want to see the X-Men and others from Marvel(Ghost Rider?) Plus Batman is cool, but what about the Justice League? DB

I am not really sure about this set myself. At first glance it seems great, but then a few ugly details rear thier heads. One of the major things, is the lack of minfigs that were present with most of the other locomotives, like the BNSF. Also for the price this time around TLG could have thrown in a motor. I understand that there are already a lot of pieces, but this is slightly bad marketing, especially considering that it plainly shows the motor on the box cover. With all this in mind, I still like the set, I just do not see that the price justifies it, even with Mike Walsh's comparison to the other engines and cars as of late. So I will wait and see how the reviews are before I bother with this one. Besides I have Star Wars to worry about too. X-D DB

I have to add in a few comments myself. First off I agree that the new, more emotional heads are definitely above our generic smiley faces. In fact they are quite better in my opinion, especially when it comes to the Castle Theme or for that matter Star Wars. But as someone who who grew up with the generic smiley face, I would surely miss them if they were to disappear. As for the fleshies, I have no problems with them, I think, in a way you can consider this an up-grade. Oh yeah and the new X-Wing also has a fleshie smiley face just like the A-Wing's two minifigs. Don't for get the Imperial Officers. If I missed any let me know. Fleshie Smileys On. X-D *wub* DB

Hi Nick and welcome to our humble page on the web. Enjoy your stay as much as I have so far. By the way, your name reminds me of Steamboat Willie, the first Mickey Mouse short in B&W. :-P DB

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep that in mind when I notice a good sale. Also what section would you recommend putting news like this in the future? DB
-
That was very well done and quite funny. Now they should do one on Steven Speilburg. *y* DB

You know I have to agree with you and I will go one step or two steps forward on the price. I was thinking $150-200, this would include an AT-AT, AT-ST, Snow Speeder or two, a taun taun, shield generators, the base, and finally at least 10 minifigs. As far as the Wampa is concerned, that could be a separate set with Luke and the Wampa in a cave setting. DB

Hey *yoda* or *vader* , how much truth is there to the myth that is the Hoth set. If either one of you have any leads or links to as to who or where it was mentioned, I would like to know. Oh and *vader* I have a better idea, instead of selling your wife, sell off some of the LEGO sets that are of no use to you. Otherwise you can always charge an hourly rate to *yoda* . >:-) :-P

I have to say that I am quite impressed with the effort some of you put in to separate your LEGOs. As far as I am concerned, I mostly did the separation by color scheme. Although I did separate out mini-figs, accessories, printed or sticker covered bricks, and various special pieces, like plants and wheels. I still have quite a few sets that are in boxes so I do not need to worry about that for now. I guess I may have to get more organized in the future for MOCing purposes. If any of you can tell me where I can get similar containers here in the States that you all own that would be great too. DB

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars minifigures?
Dark Brick replied to Darthking623's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Dang nabit. I knew I would miss one more. Thanks 4J. Although I do not have her or Amidala. -
Was not sure where to really post this without starting a new thread, but TRU here in the States is having a few Aquaraiders Sets at a 20% mark down for this week only, this includes the Aqua Base. *y* :-D DB

You should look under the thread, titled, The LEGO Database, under Buy, Sell, Trade, and Finds section. I hope that helps. DB
