  1. I just took a look at www.LEGO.com here in the U.S.A. and I noticed that the Crane has increased in price to $69.99 US. :-X That is a $20 US increase. *n* If you live across the Atlantic let me know if you have similar jump in price on this item, I am just curious. I guess I am glad that I got mine at Target for $25 US. X-D DB
  2. Well lets see, my best find would have to be the 3/4 full Rubbermaid tub(64 quart) of LEGO that I got at the Flea Market for $20.00 US. Lots of Star Wars stuff, Yoda, Darth Maul, etc. No concrete sets, but then again I was not going to complain about it, I ended up with 60+ minifigs, just about 10,000 pieces, and some instruction manuals. I *wub* that find. X-D I got great things at Target too. The new LEGO Construction Crane for $25 *wub* The current Soccer Stadium for $13 *y* Turbo Tank for $75 :-P Current Minifig Star Destroyer for $90 |-/ Oh and at the LEGO store I picked up the Train Level Crossing 10128 for $25 a while back. :-D Cheers! DB
  3. Too bad I am in the States, otherwise that would be tempting. Even though I know it is only for those in England, my question is are you giving any manuals with this lot of LEGO? DB
  4. I will have to agree with you on this one! Great mini-figs like Lando. :-D I also like the new X-Wing and the new ISD.
  5. I am surprised that no one else has mentioned *yoda* himself. I *wub* the unique head and the fact that he is a smaller Mini-Figure. I also have to give props to Leia Organa *wub* , as being the only female Star Wars figure released. Finally Greedo, just like *yoda* highly detailed and a unique head. :-D *yoda* is my number one choice. DB
  6. Very nice modifications indeed *yoda* Keep'em coming. DB
  7. I have to put in my two cents in on this topic. First off the prices are done so based on Supply and Demand. In most cases depending on where in the world they go to and how many are shipped. In the case of Europe and Asia, Lego may have to figure in quite a bit of cost like others have said for licensing, shipment, marketing. Also you have to look at the other perspective that both the Euro and the Pound are worth more hence the price differnce between Europe and the U.S. The other thing that could be an issue is that TLG needs to recoup more money in Europe than in the U.S. since maybe things tend to sell out faster in the U.S.A. than accross the Atlantic. So LEGO makes most of it's money here, because people do purchase a lot more. I am a bit fuzzy on the whole Canadian thing though. You may also have to consider that they are paying a mostly European work force and that can be expensive. I am not an economics expert by any means, but I am sure one of those reasons above fit the bill. DB
  8. I voted for the AT-AT too for the same reason. DB
  9. I agree on all points hence why I chose Episode V as well. DB
  10. I have to say that, in some cases I would love for LEGO to bring back some of the sets from years past that I have missed. AT-AT being one of the big ones, as I am one that is not willing to pay 3x the price for this on Ebay. Also a new Dagohba set would be nice too, so I can attain another *yoda*. There are a few things I have missed and I am willing to part money for them but not what other are trying to sell them for on Ebay and BL. DB
  11. As I have mentioned on previous posts, I have 2 on order, which 4J and I have discussed the idea of buying him one more, that is me paying for it of course. :-P The only thing I am wondering is if it will be too big to fit on the Cloud City landing base. *wacko* As far as the rest of you are concerned, I completely understand your issue with the price and that you do have priorities other than LEGO that require money(Rent or School Books). I too used to be in that position. Have heart and just buy the non-collector's version when it comes out. I would buy a third, but I will wait and see if they will indeed come out with a non-collector's version and that will be the one I intend to open instead of this one. X-D DB
  12. Well obviously the hunt has already started on the EB boards before the products got to the store. X-D As far as your chances are concerned in attaining a C-3PO, you may have better luck getting hit by a car or getting a Girlfriend/Boyfriend. :-P On a more serious note, all this talk about weighing the individual sets is great and I have a few tips for those that are brave enough to venture into the store with a small scale. First thing you need to have is a cell phone, why you ask, so you can talk to a friend or at least pretend to while you are doing this. The reason being is most employees do not bother you while you are on the phone, plus you can say that you are figuring out shipping charges to ship said boxes and deciding on which you want to buy. Paper and a pen, and finally a lot of chutspa. Rule of thumb, I suggest not going into the same store twice within the same week. Of course opening them up is another way >:-) , which is not the ideal way to go, unless you want to meet your new roommate, Bubba Gump. :-/ Buying, opening, and returning a set or two is not a bad idea either, unless you are limited to the amount of stores you can go to or the employees get suspicous of you. I have returned a few opened sets without any problems. Oh and for those that need cheap LEGO sets, sometimes TRU has opened or mangled boxes on clearance, although these are usaually buy at your own risk, as in you may not be able to return it once you buy it. I should know, back when I was still at school in 2000, I found an opened box of the Tie Interceptor UCS model for $20-$30 U.S. and it was only missing one piece, which I recently attained(amongst others LEGO bricks) from a friend who happened upon it while dumpster diving for keys he mistakingly threw into a neighboring trash can. X-D Anyone I guess X-Ray vision/glasses would work too! ;-) DB
  13. This is definitely a great set, as I own it too. Although I had to get replacement parts for the car wash brushes. Another one that I really like is the Big Rig Truck Stop, 6393. Great set and I own this one too. :-D
  14. My vote is in for 6571; Flame Fighters. Great classic set. *wub* the garage doors! DB
  15. Well I have 2 on order. :-D *wub* DB
  16. Hi and welcome to EB. Thanks for sharing that info with us, maybe you could introduce yourself as well! ;-) Otherwise I do have a question. What do you accept as payment and is there a minimum order amount? Thanks and enjoy EB DB
  17. I think that the practice tower is a very nice addition to your fire station. Red or not, the station itself is well done too, plus I like the fact you have femle in there as well. *wub* DB
  18. Hopefully you do not end up paying through the nose for it in a year. :-P Since we are on the topic of taxes here is an idea of what it costs in the U.S. I have 2 on order, total came out to be $1089 U.S. or $827.74 Euro. :-X The tax in this case is equivalent to about 9%, which is kind of steep, but the free shipping makes up for it. *y* DB
  19. I have to disagree with you considering I have 2 on order. Also there are a few of us on EB that are buying at least one. Further more, out of the top 25 sets sold on LEGO's website, it is now at number 3 and it has only been about 48 hours. Sorry but you may need to go back a few pages on this thread and look at all those who have bought one. DB
  20. I guess there are a lot of fans of both Star Wars and LEGO who are obviously buying them. No doubt that sellers on BL and Ebay are purchasing the maximum amount they can. Others maybe opting to get family to help them buy even more perhaps(I know I will). >:-) So then this raises the question, is LEGO actually having a limit of no more than say 20,000 of these or are they just taking as many orders as they can up until the end of March 31st and then coming up with a nice round number for the certificate? At any rate it is number 3 on the LEGO billboards top 25, so that must mean something. DB
  21. Does anyone know if the figure with the SI will be Darth Maul or a derivitive of that figure? >:-) Also as much as I want the Wanpa too, I am curious is there a Rancor in the works or was there one in the past that I have missed? If anyone has any answers for me let me know.
  22. I wonder, if this is the First Limited and Certified Edition run, than there is hope for those of you who want one now to just wait for a regular version. I guess I would buy a regular version to play with and the two first edition ones I will leave sealed. This way I can always say I have at least one sealed for good. :-D
