  1. it's because children are so dumb nowadays. you cant give them a classic lego blaster and expect them to use their imagination and go "pew pew pew" with their mouth. they need the gun to actually fire something, even though it looks nothing like the real thing.
  2. for me ucs spaceships only make sense if they're minifigure scale and can actually fit the minifigs inside, like the recent slave 1. i kick myself for not buying the imperial shuttle when it was available. i was only a casual fan back then, and thought it too expensive, so i passed.
  3. wouldve been even better without the inclusion of senesca. he was in that year's wampa set too iirc.
  4. would next summer be the end of the line for the tfa xwing and other tfa wave one sets? im still waiting for decent sales in europe, but so far theyve been ridiculous.
  5. i think most people in here wildly overestimate the cost of new minifigures. at the end of the day they're hardly die-cast, six inch, intricately engineered figures we're taking about here. some new minifgures yeah, big whoop. how much should they cost? 300 euro more? an idea of what other toys on the market cost would be good for some perspective, guys.
  6. And since when do helmets count as accessories, incidentally? It's as preposterous as the 'cat' in the UCS batcave description.
  7. This will be around 270 euro in Belgium. Simply disgraceful.
  8. With this set and the upcoming adam west batcave, it's clear lego has totally lost tge plot.
  9. Same here. Bought the transporter thing, but that's about it apart from battle packs. Still waiting for some decent sales on the TIE Fighter. Might buy two of those. Ive decided to pass on the other sets of the first wave, which are quite poor for what you get imo. Will try to get the battle of takodana for the minigs if its discounted over 25%. I used to be a completist! But they don,t have any good sales going on on amazon. I said it in the other thread. They used to have frequent 33% discounts in the European amazon stores, now youre lucky to get ten percent off on models that have been out six months. Looking forward to pictures of the new DS. I have two of the old ones. One on display and one MIB. I might buy a new one and use the old one for parts, if it's good. But the way theyre cutting corners these days, something tells me the old one will be a better display model.
  10. yes i just saw. unfortunately the weak euro and the fact that nowadays amazon uk charges shipping for deliveries to mainland europe means that i all but stopped buying from there.
  11. this one is directed to fellow european collectors. do you find that there havent been any good lego sales on amazon for a while? it used to be quite often for amazon to discount sets by 33%, now it's a rare occurence, even for 'old' sets like the first TFA wave.
  12. a cantina ucs would have been awesome.
  13. goodluck with finding a 40% discount in belgium or on amazon france. im still waiting for the prices on the xwing and tie fighter to go down a bit. refuse to buy the xwing, even for 75 euro. someone should REALLY tell the lego reps how ridiculous all this is, at one of these toy fairs.
  14. Thanks for the review. Im getting this set cause I still don't have kanan yet. The crates look useful, as do more blasters, but the speeder bike is simply ridiculous. You have to wonder how certain designs are approved in the first place. It looks bad even in the official pictures, like he's riding his dad's bike.
  15. wahaha 290 euro? youd have to be a fool to buy it. and with the price of oil at a record low. lego fans who will buy anything blindly are only encouraging tlg's shameful pricing policy (especially in europe) and ruining the hobby for everyone else. i can easily afford this, but there is no way im gonna buy it, and im a tfan of adam west batman!
  16. went around the various toyshops in central brussels this morning: theyve been wiped clean of tfa lego sets. clearly demand is far outstripping supply. same goes for the belgian shop at home, and the french amazon site.
  17. Amazon France (not a third party seller) has the new battlepacks for 21,41 euro. Hurry up guys, buy a dozen! LOL.
  18. what are you guys compalining about? 16 aud works out at a little less than 11 euro. 23 aud is slightly more than 15 euro. the microfighters are ten euro in europe, and the battle packs are nudging towards 17 euro in the benelux countries ... and the bleedin things are made here in the first place!
  19. i think hruppertdk is joking. you are joking right, or trolling, or both? :)
  20. was the death star already finished when they stole the plans right before epiv?
  21. yeah, that's the best. it's especially annoying on the tie pilots, with half of the back of their heads showing from behind.
  22. Am i the only one who would really really really but really like lego to go back to using black heads on stormtroopers, tie pilots etc?
  23. how much is takodana selling for in europe? it's 60 dollars in the US eh? it's ridiculous, putting two stormtroopers in a set that expensive and calling it 'battle of whatever'. we used to have fights bigger than that on our block, when we were kids.
  24. it will never be in a par with ep iv, simply because ep iv is original, everything about it is original and fresh, whereas ep vii is not.
  25. I would give it a 3.5. As good as Empire? No way! 'Small moments that echo ANH?' Let's be honest, it was more than a few moments. Also, some of the new characters were treated waaaay too sketchily. I still enjoyed myself an awful lot, and JJ has donea great job with coming up these characters, the soecial effects were good and the film doesnt take itself too seriously. But story-wise I felt extremely cheated even though i didn't want to admit it at first. Still, it's the first in a trilogy, we will see how things develop from here.
