First 2016 LEGO Ideas Review - Guessing Game
BrickJagger replied to Robert8's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'll go with the Gingerbread house, it's the only one with any sort of chance in my eyes. All of the others are too big or Star Wars related. -
Agreed on both points. I would assume the Forest monsters will come first because it would make more sense to release the beach-themed wave in the summer.

LEGO Star Wars 2016 Pictures and Rumors
BrickJagger replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
At least the pricing is better than TFA's......the PPP ratio is decent, even in the largest set. That may be a Star Wars first. -
Thanks, fixed.

Let's go over this theme by theme: Angry Birds: A disappointing wave, but that might be because the movie itself limits the set design. Architecture: Fairly standard year, but Big Ben is incredible. Bionicle: Winter wave is very similar to last year's winter wave, and the summer villains and less in number then last year and suffer from several design flaws. City: More Fire. More Police. The Airport theme is nice, it's nice to finally get a new airport. The Volcano subtheme is garbage. Lazy set design, and half of the sets would fit right in with the Arctic sets if they were orange. All those vehicles, where are the Volcanos? The Park set might the best City set released in the last five years, though. Creator: Not really seeing anything new here. I like the cabin, the Bank is fairly average and undersized for the price increase. For twenty dollars more than the Palace Cinema, you would expect it to be at least comparable in size. Elves: Huge improvement from last year. I love the Dragons, and Regina's Shadow Castle has excellent detailing and is the best Elves set so far. Friends: More of the same. Not really digging the Amusement Park sub theme, although the rollercoaster was a valiant effort. Ghostbusters: I like the Firehouse, it's very accurate to the films. The Ecto-1 is pretty similar to the one from 2014, but they can't help that. Ideas: I wish the Maze had the different options as presented in the original idea, such as the Castle setting. Looks pretty basic and overpriced for what it is. Juniors: Not a lot to say here, although I'm sure Ninjago fans are happy with the new snakes. Dimensions: I look forward to seeing what the Fantastic Beasts fun pack looks like. Also stocked for the return of Harry Potter. Minecraft: I understand the appeal, but the sets are basic and boring. Some of the sets are simply a pile of bricks. Just my opinion. Minifigures: I love series 15 and 16, and the Disney series was going to happen at some point. I like several Disney franchises myself, but I hope there isn't a second series and they move into regular sets so we can hopefully retain two regular series a year (Ninjago series comes next year). Mixers: Strong showing. I like the Castle ones the most. They can keep this line going for at least two or three more years. Part two tomorrow, time to go to bed.

It probably wasn't very successful, as it was clogging up shelves for over a year in my area and there didn't seem to be a lot of hype surrounding the theme (The thread for the sets performed similarly to the Castle 2013 thread despite having twice as many sets). I suspect that it was a single year release, due to some of the sets being recycled Alien Conquest prototypes. Alien Conquest was due for a second wave in 2012, but it was canceled because Monster Fighters was going to fill its slot. It would have been weird to have the theme skip a year and then come back, so the sets were probably just rebranded. I doubt we'll see any large space themes in the next five years simply due to the mass amounts of Star Wars films coming out. If we get anything it will be a small, five set wave like Castle 2013 and Pirates 2015.

Historic Themes topic #10000 is an interesting one at that. Nice work!

Knew it! Happy to hear this. We've already seen quite a few of the Plant monsters, as well as some of the water monsters. They seem to follow the same formula as the lava monsters, with regular soldiers, golems, scurrier sized creatures and globlins, which I'm okay with since it worked well the first time around. Also happy that Mustard is finally confirmed to be a real figure after last year's debate. The question is whether or not the water monsters are actually coming out in 2018, as opposed to the Plant monsters coming out next January and the Water monsters next summer. I would assume that the latter is the case, because if Lego has Nexo planned out for a three year run then I find it unlikely that they would reveal the main villains of the final year in year one. Just my thoughts. For Reference, here are the Plant and Water monsters in question: Check out that guy with the fork for a hand

Looks real to me. Judging from the photos of the building process, the creation itself wasn't particularly strong, sometimes simply tipping a model like that over will send it spilling all over the floor. Also, his response makes it seem like some kid was taking a picture with it and accidentally bumped into it, or something like that.

Nice build! I think that the Police Boat hull was a good choice for re-creating the ship.

Sorry If that was worded poorly, but your post was exactly what I meant by that.

That kind of stuff also confuses me. Ninjago was probably delayed until March so Nexo Knights could be the main focus for its first wave in January. That makes sense. However, what exactly is the advantage of having both summer waves come out in August? That's an abnormally long seven month wait for Nexo, and since both have fairly large summer waves the market will be flooded with new NK, Ninjago and Star Wars sets. And to top it off the Europeans seem to be getting the new sets almost three months before we do, but not the new Ninjago sets.

Each Knight has their own horse. Lance's is in Jestro's Evil Mobile, Aaron's is in Infernox Captures the Queen, Macy's is in Beast Master's Chaos Chariot, Clay's is in General Magmar's Siege Machine of Doom, and Axl's is in Jestro's Volcano Lair. All of the horses are the same except for their color, which matches the Knight who owns the horse. The horses can't stand up, unfortunately. Too bad. I was looking forward to buying most of the summer wave for my birthday in July.

Nice find. I'm happy that this mech is a good two inches taller than the King's Mech, it makes it seem more imposing. Anyone know if the sets have a hard June 1st release date in the US (Like the hard January 1st date for the first wave), or an August release?

Nice review. Maybe they'll get to the States soon.

Does anyone notice that the Nexo Knights king is included in the chronology strip right under the knight?
