Still a Toyworld and S@H exclusive as far as I know. Same goes for the ATRT. I saw someone on a Facebook group say that the dropship was in K-Mart’s computer system a few months back, but take that with a grain of salt. If it doesn’t turn up in other stores after the end of financial year sales I reckon I’m going to cave and buy it from S@H. Such a shame because a battle pack isn’t worth $35 but I do want the new trooper helmets and I don’t want to buy the Death Star vignette set. I do think the sets will turn up elsewhere though. The resistance sets were only at Toyworld to start off with but I’ve since seen them on the Toys r Us website and I’m pretty sure David Jones has them too. Last year the train set from Harry Potter started as a Toyworld exclusive but has since been made available everywhere. Only time will tell though. I hope in future LEGO does not parter with Toyworld for more retailer exclusives, they never have sales and their shelves are constantly filled with old stock at full price. My local Toyworld still has sets from 2016 at full MSRP.

This whole “teasing the next ucs” nonsense started with the Millennium Falcon supposedly being teased on the Death Star box. It’s all a coincidence IMO, because there’s also TIEs and X-Wings on the box too. My bet is the box designer was trying to go for the trench run scene, that’s why the Falcon had a soft glow around it - like it had just showed up out of nowhere to save the day.

$330 AUD?!? I fail to see why LEGO can’t decide on 300 or 330 as the price point for sets of this size. The set looks superb but at that price it’s going to take a really impressive promo for me to get it on May 4th

I'm hoping the set includes a display stand and UCS-like plaque that isn't shown on the box. The set looks good, albeit slightly disproportional. If there's a good May the 4th promo along with it I'll pick it up early, if not I'll wait for it to show up in retailers at a discount.

I remember the boost and Yoda rumors, but where are the rest of these coming from?

I’ve always been one to defend LEGO and their pricing but it’s gone on far enough. The price per piece may have stayed the same over the years but the number of pieces in sets certainly haven’t. Models get smaller and smaller while the piece count keeps going up. I’ve never minded paying so much for LEGO because of the quality but the value isn’t there in sets anymore. Printing errors are increasingly common, sets have less play features, there’s more stickers than ever before. LEGO needs to make a change now if it’s going to keep it’s more dedicated customers. All the parents I know have stopped buying LEGO for their kids due to the insanely high prices.

Sounds about right. All the other UCS sets turned up at other retailers after a short window. For aussies after the dropship and AT-RT... was just in my local Toyworld and apparently the sets aren’t exclusives, but that still doesn’t explain why they’re nowhere else. They also reminded me about the Hogwarts Express from last year, which started out as a Toyworld exclusive but is now everywhere. Very annoying if that will be the case with these ones.

To help my point, Kmart has the podracer for $39. The podracer has 280 pieces... that’s more than double the pieces for only $4 more. The price of the dropship is just too high. I don’t see the AT-RT on Kmarts website either

I don’t appreciate your condescending nature. Just because you and I can afford $35 for a ship that doesn’t make it a fair price, especially considering the old version was only $16. The set is 30 cents a piece! Sure, it has 5 minifigures and double the pieces of the old set... but the main build only comes up to 12cm long according to the website description. For $35 I expect way more out of a set. The set has the potential to be the best selling set of the wave, but making it exclusive to a store that doesn’t price competitively is certainly going to hurt it’s sales.

I hope this sorts itself out in the future, but for now it appears LEGO has shafted us Aussies yet again. I’ve checked the websites for Kmart, Target, Myer, Big W and toyworld for the new sets. Big W has none of them listed, the dropship is nowhere to be found and the only place with the AT-RT and resistance sets is Toyworld. Didn’t pay much attention to the battle sets but I think most of them are only at Toyworld as well. To have most of the sets exclusive to Toyworld is ridiculous. They never drop below RRP and they’re still selling some 2016 sets for full price. I hope the sets make their way to all other stores, but more importantly the dropship better turn up somewhere soon. If LEGO has made it a S@H exclusive for us then that’s such a horrible move. $35 is way too much for that set, even with the new helmet and 5 figures.

...we’ve had photos of these sets for months and they’re starting to turn up in stores. The pictures will show you that the rest of the minifigures are all new just like the models in the sets

Just found Anakin’s pod at my local Kmart. None of the other sets but they said they may get some more sets in on Wednesday. I know the Snowspeeder is listed on Target’s website already but I haven’t but checked for any others.

I’ve seen Facebook posts about the 20th anniversary sets showing up in Australia. I personally haven’t seen them but I’m keeping an eye out. Will most likely be waiting for big discounts since LEGO has finally started to price me out.

Lately they’ve been announcing D2C sets right after photos leak. We’ll see it within the next couple weeks for sure.

I take back my previous remark. Still nice to see a wider release of the set but it’s a bit stupid that it’s yet another North American exclusive.

Brickset is saying that the Vader bust will be available at Target after the Celebration. So glad to finally see these convention sets getting a wider release.

2020 leaks in February 2019? I don’t believe any of it for a second.

We already know 75255 is coming in October Interesting rumour coming from a credible source, I hope it turns out to be true. If I recall correctly we knew about BB-8 and the Porg a lot earlier than usual when compared to the other sets but I don’t think it was this early in the year.

Those shooters have been around for about 15 years. Earliest set I remember getting them in was from 2007 and I know the parts were already a couple years old by then.

Say it again for the people in the back

Currently there’s the Resistance Bomber at $110 US/$180 AUD and Darth Vader’s Castle at $130 US/$200 AUD. Following that the Slave I should be $190 but something tells me that LEGO will want to round up to $200. Star Wars sets have really been losing their value over the last couple of years. More pieces are being included but builds are getting smaller and having less functions. Take Anakin’s Jedi Starfighter, the 2008 model was $15 cheaper than the 2018 model, bigger, had less pieces and included a mechanism to eject R2-D2. Comparing the new Slave I to the 2010 version and it’s twice the price for twice the pieces while being more or less the same size. While it definitely looks better, I cant help but notice that its missing a door for extra hidden missiles down the side of the fuselage. Take me back to the builds of 5-10 years ago where they were stylised a bit more but still resembled the source material.

Exactly, a lot of people seem to forget this. I’d love to see a report from LEGO indicating what percentage of their customers are actually AFOLs, because I reckon KFOLs outnumber us 50 to 1 at least.

Thank god the snowspeeder has the old helmets. The new one is ridiculously oversized and looks completely out of place on figures. The actual snowspeeder though, exactly the same as the last one. Good for anyone who doesn't have it already, pass for me. Slave I is fantastic, but I probably won't get it as I have the UCS. No new Han in Carbonite piece :( Great to finally get another podracer, with ok figures. I'll probably skip it because I have the 2012 one and IMO it's better. Dropship and AT-RT are fantastic but will probably end up being overpriced. I'll get these eventually. Solid wave. New collectors who don't have these ships yet are in for a treat.

LEGO customer service is always really good. If you provide proof of purchase they normally get you what you’re after. I expected this and was hoping I could get my hands on a Finch this way, I just hope that they don’t crack down on this before I get a chance to do it because people will obviously be abusing this system.
