  1. Did not realize it would be that tall!
  2. I finished the game with 100% on Sunday. I have to say that it is easily the best LEGO game I have ever played. It is witty and had a good, solid storyline (albeit some inconsistencies here and there, which I suspect were due to the Movie's final cut). I love the amount of characters you can unlock and the fact that a good chunk of them add something unique that makes the game feel fresh whenever you unlock a new character. Also, God bless the speedsters.
  3. It won't launch at all in China? That seems like an odd decision...
  4. Simon Lucas shared something very interesting on Twitter: , it's some very exclusive minifigs :D
  5. Just saw it and it's a shame they changed the color scheme so drastically. Also, to me it seems like the mask is actually gun metal gray and not black, like in the movie - maybe an homage to Samurai X?
  6. So far I'm not liking the new gi, they look like they have far fewer details when compared to HoT ones. On the other hand, those villains look awesome! The only thing I dislike about them is the fact kabuki masks have to be used with bike helmets. I've hoped they would be made like the mask of the tiki warrior.
  7. It'll get better, the movie is not yet out in all markets. There's still a good chunk of Europe (France, Italy, UK etc), and I'm not even sure the movie is out in China. If not it could have a significant impact on box office numbers. Jackie Chan is huge in China.
  8. Amazing stuff! I'll make sure to pick up the book as soon as I can!
  9. I'd have to agree with you on this one. It really felt like a hotpot of ideas that were mixed in in an unnatural way. The final act was indeed, the messiest one. To me, TLNM, was a typical Holywood superhero/villain origin story and it completely missed the point of it being a LEGO movie, as well as it being a Ninjago movie. Basically, this move didn't have to be made out of bricks, nor include any ninja and it would still be the same. There are no builders, nor is there any kind of reshaping of the world to better fit the situation. A huge missed opportunity. There is zero background on the world (where did the mechs come from?), what's up with the locations outside of Ninjago City? And most importantly, where is everything that made Ninjago what it is? Where are the trivial things, like Spinjitzu, elemental powers, dragons etc etc? Where is the deeper stuff? Like team dynamics, the struggle with the personal vision of oneself and mission (of all the characters), relationships between all the ninja and similar?
  10. Finally saw the Movie. I have to say I expected more Ninjago in it. It's not that I didn't like it but, for me, it didn't have the heart and soul of the franchise.
  11. If anyone is interested in seeing on how Ninjago is represented in the LEGO House: https://bricksamurai.com/lego-house-ninjago-fans-perspective/ It's a brief description of my experiences there, as a Ninjago fan.
  12. I love what you did here! It's a brilliant idea and I hope you continue doing it. Just like Littleworlds I was surprised not to see more of the TV show mentioned which is both good and bad in my opinion. It kept the video short and to the point but kept out some important details. Here are the things I missed from the video: No mentions of elemental powers No mentions of introduction of Nya as a ninja No Dragons mentioned (molded vs brickbuilt heads) No villains introduced or explained Day of the Departed skipped No parallels between the show and the sets No mentions of games I'm a huge Ninjago fan so don't take these to heart too much : ) The video is great, production is very good and you will only get better with time!
  13. Apparently it's going to be €79.99, which is a tad expensive if you ask me. Also, it looks like there is a bar behind the wheel, so it seems it won't be standing on the wheel, using black magic, after all :/
  14. You can already get those! I did a review here: https://bricksamurai.com/30609-lloyd-polybag-review/
  15. Apparently, if you buy it for £ it ends up being around €85, which is a crazy good discount! Shame they don't deliver this set :/
  16. And here I am without the Ninjago team pack :D I'm yet to see it on a substantial discount :/ (waiting to be able to get it for ~15eur)
  17. WB Games shared a new trailer for the game yesterday: It shows some very interesting environments as well as some TV show tie-ins. The environments seem only to be inspired by existing sets and locations in the show. I hope we get to see something similar in the movie itself.
  18. Thanks, me too! That's actually great advice, thank you for giving it!
  19. Full disclosure: This review is copied in its entirety from my blog. This is my very first review, and as such is full of omissions and errors. As the text itself states I am looking for criticisms and advice on how to improve. Thank you in advance. The Quake Mech hasn’t been officially announced yet, but we did get a sneak peek in the Ninjago Movie ‘Making of’ book. What we do have is a scaled down polybag version of the mech: The build itself is of the expected polybag-size and is very nicely built. The only thing I dislike is that the wheel itself is brickbuilt, but it would’ve been impossible to stand on its own otherwise. I do hope that the actual set will have an actual wheel, even if it has to have additional support in order to stand. The arms have a lot of articulation, although the shoulders are a bit flimsy, but brilliantly built. They’re bigger than the rest of the body and give the mech that ‘hulky’ look. As I’ve mentioned the wheel is brickbuilt and flat on the base. The droid arms are not attached to it and are only there for aesthetics. The wheel is actually attached to the rest of the body via a 1×1 round trans piece that. It has a black bar running through it. The mech looks quite good from the back side as well, if a bit bland. However, there is room for attaching additional pieces there, so it can be improved upon with clever tinkering. I have to admit that I was quite impressed with this build. So much, in fact, that I bought two – one for my collection and one to use as a decoration on my desk (on which I usually keep souvenirs from my trips). This was my first ever review and I hope you liked it. Is there anything you would’ve liked to be included, or anything I missed? If you have any other comments, criticism and/or advice I hope that you will share them. I will allow me to improve and you can enjoy better reviews.
  20. Great work, I can hardly believe this is your first MOC! I especially like how the roof 'flows'. The shape looks somewhat familiar to me, was this inspired by anything in particular? Do post a picture in a dark room with the lights on!
  21. This is in Austria, so I assume in Germany as well. You can order these online, and I advise that you do, since I don't think they'll have TLBM by then.
  22. Yes. I do believe you are correct! I've looked at the images and the gis seem to match! Great catch! They are sold for 14.99 eur or come free with purchases over 40 eur. TLBM ones are already available online : ) Ninjago ones will be available from 25.09.
  23. New exclusive minifigs spotted at Toys'R'Us: These include: 1. White Nindroid! If I'm not wrong we never had one of these, and these are the good guys, made by Cyrus Borg. 2. Neuro. The Elemental Master of Mind. We're getting more and more elemental masters. Will we end up getting all of them? 3. Krux. This one feels like it uses different parts of different, existing, minifigures. Or am I wrong? 4. The Golden Ninja. To me it looks like a completely new gi. Is it just a recolor of some older one? You can see others here. If you wish to read more about the figs themselves I did a post on my Ninjago-themed blog.
  24. As with all your mechs: brilliant!
  25. Wu is pushed quite a bit - mostly in shorts and Jackie Chan videos :D
